For those who don't know : Subnautica is a game about being on a foreign planet and trying to survive and build a base only underwater with 2spooky4me fish and self exploding fuckers

Might as well just post the picture now
>>343307271
im so glad they're redesigning the hud 2bh
New update
w h e n
I have a Cyclops and I'm still scared to explore.
I'm fully aware this thing is like a tank with no guns.
I'm scared just driving it.
>>343307783
july
>>343307271
In what area are these guys in?
I want to go sightseeing.
>>343307874
Deep Grand Reef.
Along with CrabSquids and 650m Pressure.
>>343307851
>>343307783
usually they get out an update in the first week of that respective month
usually
>>343307851
warpers when?
>>343307874
South western part of the Grand Reef I think
>>343307991
Where's the spot of no. 5?
>>343307120
>base just out in the open
>not building into the terrain at all
>random layout of tunnels
>hatch on the end of a tunnel
>>343307991
What happens when you hit the edge of the map?
>>343307953
>Along with CrabSquids
Okay maybe going sightseeing isnt such a good idea.
>>343307969
they're working on that right now, so probably the july update if not august update
https://trello.com/b/yxoJrFgP/subnautica-development
>>343307991
>tfw this was back before they added another blood kelp zone for no reason
Just got this game, no idea what I'm doing, help me /v/
>>343308115
If you're just going sightseeing with a Seamoth, you can keep CrabSquids from killing you as long as you don't lose your shit at https://soundcloud.com/kamakazi/crabsquid
All you have to do is if you see one, turn all your fucking lights off or they will cave your anus in.
>>343308269
treat it like minecraft desu
>>343307991
>posting the map that doens't let people know where Reap Levs arecruel
>>343307120
So how do I play this when I'm really scared of spoopy marine animals? Especially the deep-sea snake like fishes.
Just found a pretty big egg, will it hatch if I just leave it there?
>>343307120
Decided to download the game. What should I expect?
>>343308112
Sheer drop off. Edges are filled with Reaper Leviathans anyway, good luck getting past them.
>>343308407
just explore around building a nice home :)
I too was afraid, but it's not that scary! trust me :)
>>343308485
The world is flat?
>>343308436
yeah all eggs hatch eventually, just do your shit and it'll hatch on its own
it'll say "XXXXXXX DISCOVERED" or something on your screen when it hatches even if you're nowhere near
>>343308436
Ya it will, just be wary those two eggs will bloat out your aquarium unless you throw the animals into bioreactors.
>>343308458
Being low on oxygen
Also craft the tools as quickly as you can.
>>343308458
Water, lots of water.
>>343308562
NO IT"S NOT GOY
SHUT IT DOWN
>>343308407
You should live in the underground mushroom biome, it's the safest place in the game so far
I dislike the fact that you constantly have to manage thirst and hunger every fucking 15 minutes.
Also the oxygen timer is really fucking low, not really enjoyable.
>>343308458
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR OXYGEN LEVELS
AAAA BLACKOUTS
>>343308516
REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
>>343308680
play creative for now if you don't want to deal with it, they're constantly changing the speeds in which they deplenish
Early access was a mistake
>>343307120
>mfw finally got my seamoth and battery chargers
we /comfy/ now.
>>343308870
>seamoth
>battery chargers
Anon....
>>343308870
getting the seamoth gives you a huge ego boost and then you explore more and that just leads to danger and death and spooks
>>343307120
Is this the Sub Culture sequel that i've been waiting on for 15 years?
>>343308870
Nice, you got the seamoth! :)
Now you can go to where it's not comfy anymore :^)
>tfw being afraid of really big constructions
>tfw getting up to get some oxygen and seeing the big ass ship burning down
>tfw knowing I have to get there eventually
Do solar panels actually work under water?
>>343309001
Yeah
So, yesterday I saw a giant... Creature. It kept rotating over and over. It was really fucking huge.
Was it a bug? From how it was rotating it sure seems like it
>>343309001
yeah
>>343308982
>tfw claustrophobic
>all the tiny wrecks all over the place have really small rooms
Do I have to explore the big fucking ship that crashed ? I only found some random junk and some Half-life 1 crabs in there
>>343308870
great anon now you can safely explore the aurora, there's nothing really dangerous arou
Is there any reason to go to the dunes at all?
>>343309001
Yeah, but it's a ridiculously dumb idea because the water will have absorbed most of the solar rays before they touch the panels.
>>343309001
Yes if the water is clear enough
>>343307991
>mfw I built my base in the crash zone near the back of the ship
I didn't know till yesterday that that was the edge of the map. How am I supposed to move now
>>343309112You can fix the reactors so there isn't radiation everywhere. There are also a couple of upgrades for the cyclops in there.
>>343309082
Probably a crustacean actually. Bugs don't generally live underwater, anon.
>>343309239
Build a cyclops and haul all of your shit somewhere else
>>343309323
:^)
>tfw there's some floating shit there
>>343309102
it's even worse because you're in tiny rooms UNDERWATER and usually in the dark
>>343309375
I'm nowhere near cyclops levels yet. Guess I gotta prepare food hard in the zones near me for long treks for now
>>343309492
yeah i fucking hate it
all they have to do is put a reaper hovering outside the exit in one of those little wrecks and i'd kms
>>343309323
>>343309082
Oh, I forgot that I took a screenshot of it
>>343309629
those are reefbacks, yeah it's a bug when they rotate they're just supposed to slowly move forward
WHERE'S SOME ENTRANCE TO THE BIG ASS SHIP

>>343309706
Under water. About half along the side facing your capsule.
>>343310017
very cute very kawaii i want it as a pet where to get the eggs
>>343309863
I found some entrance but I got fucked by facecrab looking motherfuckers and my knife got all used up
Also sandsharks suck dick
>>343308674
Is that actually a good place to build? I feel like it would be lacking in resources. I want to build in a place with access to lots of necessities.
>>343310017
dam, didn't know it was that big.
>>343309917
Dunes sound nice... When do you start getting shit to deal with Stalkers? I hate these Kelp Forests...
how do I stick my seamoth depth fixer upper into my seamoth?
>>343310203
well you can get the fuckoff cannon in the grassy plains
otherwise if you drop metal or give them fish they passify for a while.
>>343310247
There's 4 circles on the left side afaik.
click on those
Reshade or no? It looks more "realistic" but looks so washed out.

Grassy Plateau
>>343310801
That is terrifying where the fuck are those things, I'm too scared to play this game being underwater is unbearable.
>>343310832
$11 currently because of the steam sale.
>>343310954
it's so cute though friend~
>>343310973
What?
>>343311149
the amount of content = 11$ because of the steam sale
learn to read dumbass
>>343310801
I hope they can look at you through windows and tell you to come outside.
I pirated it and it was a August 2015 build. Ran alright but was a little juttery, ran it on "recommended" too. Has performance gotten better in the current release? I think I may purchase this as soon as its out of EA.
>>343311149
dumb faggot.
>>343311328
I can't tell if you're baiting or were shaken as a baby. Saying a game's content is its price means absolutely nothing.
>>343311496
performance is all over the place depending on the patch
they're now looking into fixing the pop in issue and "optimization" doesn't happen until august
So when are they adding multiplayer?
>>343311496
holy shit dude, that's a ancient build. It got huge updates in May and June 1st of 2016. Get the newest version, it has way better and bigger stuff.
>>343311678
not looking into it until after launch
This game just needs ONE big ass motherfucking monster, like the mouth is at least the size of a cave. Only one of these things tho and have it roam at really deep below not just staying in one biome or something. These reapers n shit are okay but way too samey, we just need something so huge.
>>343311678
never
>>343311328
brain damage much?
>>343311678
never hopefully.
>>343309917
That's strange, my first time going to the Aurora I went to the back because I thought there would be an entrance there. Panicked when I saw a reaper and went to the right side, over around the front, back down the left and then straight back to the safe shallows without seeing another one.were they watching me?

>>343310832
4 to 6 hours to set yourself up and get a ship. The rest depends on you I guess. I've already played around 13 hours since I got it about 3 days ago.
>>343311907
is this a fresh new meme i havent heard of?
>>343311678
They won't consider it until after August. And even then don't get your hopes up. It was originally planned but they put it off and think adding it in now would be very difficult.
Im so bad at this game, I dont even know how to build a base. Kill me.
>>343311907
He asked how much content IS IN the game originally. The faggot could have been more clear though.
>>343311878
>Hey man was that movie any good?
>It was $12 for the ticket
>>343312058
>tfw been playing for around 6h and I only set up a small base and been having problems with food/water all the time
Can't find anything new to build either
>>343311907
im actually loving this meme
using it whenever people ask shit about games
>>343312193
Who asks how much it costs to access the game's content?
>>343312130
What tools do you have so far? There's one that specifically details building shit...
>>343311874
afaik with a few exceptions they don't spawn above 100m
>>343312193
Yes there is currently $30 per content hours worth of value in this game as it is in its current price of $11 per content on steam.
>>343312259
Haven't gotten any communications to check shit out? Haven't tried the various fish for food and water?
>>343311893
Thanks for reminding me I have to build my base based on Sealab.
>>343312434
I did but every time I get closer to a fish my fps drops and I can't fucking catch it, meaning I'm starving and dehydrated almost all the time.
I did get a message about some shit 750m south from the ship but I have no compass so no idea where to swim
>>343312259
Build an aquarium as soon as possible, it really helps with food and water. Make sure to put those airsacks and fast fishes in there so you can have a steady supply of water and food. Once you get the Seamoth you can go and look for better blueprints and build cooler and better stuff for your base.
>>343312597
Not him, but do they breed by themselves?
>>343312547
There should be something much closer by. In any case just keep exploring further and further, scanning and harvesting anything new... I don't even have hunger/thirst turned on myself, fuck that.
>>343312670
No you need to get into the tank and manually fertilize them
>>343312670
Yeah, though it's a bit slow. So in the beginning you'll still need to catch some for food and water. It takes two to breed btw. Once the ball gets rolling, food and water wont be as big of an issue.
>>343312597
You can put shit into aquariums? Nice, I didn't know that. Thought it would only be possible for those big ass tanks that only 1 can be build per 1 round room.
>>343312924
That what I meant, those big ass aquarium tanks.
>>343313129
Those are breeding tanks, the aquariums you get just hold fish and look nice.
How do we fix the scanner room?
>>343310202
He big. But he not biggest.
>>343312924
Yeah he means the alien containment unit, which is a big-ass aquarium. Build two multi-purpose rooms on top of each other, then connect two containment units inside to make a bigger tank. I've got those water fishes and bigeye fishes swimming around, and I pop in all the eggs I find.
Also once you make the water purifier unit, you get 5/5 water + free salt from the machine, so you basically get endless water and you can cure all your fishies to make food that will last you longer.
>>343313394
Then replace the word aquarium in my previous posts with breeding tanks.
>>343313439
Sea Emperor is supposedly going to be passive though. By the looks of the animation tests he will just swat you to the side if you're in his way, which will probably instakill you.
>>343312227
>caring about good
>being dumb enough to take subjective opinions about things
>not realizing that price per content is a much better way of determining how much bang you'll get for your buck
God I wish you faggots would get banned, you're worse than fucking skubfags
>>343313439
Sea emporer looks really good, the dragon is shit tier tho.
>Just built a Cyclops
>Load it up with material so I can make an FOB in the Sea Treader's Path
>It turns to night time so I stop at the sparse reef because I don't want to work in the dark
>Turn off all the lights to save power
>It's pitch black
>Suddenly hear a huge fucking rumble that makes my speakers shake
>Start to panic
>Reefback shows up a few feet from the main window of my Cyclops
I know those things are harmless but that had me thoroughly spooped
>>343313675
He's either passive, which means he won't harm you at all, or defensive, which means he'll retaliate if you deliberately try to mess with him. But since he plays a big part in the story and you need to free him so he helps you he'll likely be passive. Also the Sea Dragon also swats but it doesn't hurt you, just shoves you aside, so Emperor's swat likely will do the same.
>>343313439
Any news of when the dragon and emperor are supposed to be implemented?Or what they eat?
[afraid]
>>343313960
Prob first week of July. Aka could be a couple days could be a little over a week.
>>343313908
so edgy
>>343313960
Dragon's nearly done, so likely first week of July. Emperor still needs work.
>>343314104
You've misinterpreted his post I think. He was saying the creature was so scary he would need to delete the game because he's too afraid to play anymore. I'd say it is the opposite of being edgy.I just hope he got his content per hours of price before he had to stop.
>>343313404
would serve better as an upgrade for the cyclops. Sending little cameras out from the big sub would be neat.
As far as I remember there's no holographic map of the area in the cyclops like you can get for the scanner room/ seamoth's scanner ping/ and the mini one on the sea glider.
Having a scanner room in the cyclops to tell you what minerals are in the area would also be a lot less expensive than building a scanner room in every biome
>Chilling in base
>Hear "Welcome home, captain" and the bulkhead door shutting off
is this game worth getting for discount price?
how much time have you guys got out of it before getting bored?
Here's a question for you guys: would you honestly want multiplayer for this game? First I thought it would be great, but after playing more, I couldn't see myself enjoying the atmosphere as much with a second (or more) player.
>>343314312
I suggested that too, it would also look cool as fuck and will finally give you a reason to use the damn thing
>>343314313
>Enter cyclops
Robotic: "welcome aboard captain."
"All *static* systems *rumble rumble* ONLINE."
Mfw
Should I download the trial of this on the Xbone? How much can you actually do in the trial?
>>343314313
>>343314516
Can something enter your base?If not why haven't they implemented that?
>>343314412
I don't know. I'd need to see it in action before I could decide. I don't want them wasting recources on it right now though because they really need to implement more variety and replay ability into the game first.
>>343314412
maybe for an additional player or 2, but i agree I think it's better to take in the atmosphere by yourself
>>343314396
I've put in around 13 hours and I'm still in the "addicted" phase of playing. Even after I get all the blue prints and build them, I can still see it being fun for a few more hours after that.
Why don't you guys make a general over on /vg/? Seems there's enough interest for it. I would join you but I'm thalassophobic.
>>343314104
>>343314279
This.
Maybe I should rename that image to something else.
>>343308269
catch fish. The transparent one can be turned into water.
After you're confident in your food/water supply, go try some crafting recipes and start sploring.
>>343314412
I thought the same thing anon; part of the appeal I find in the game is that you're alone and have to venture into the undiscovered depths of the ocean not knowing what lies ahead. Having other players all over the place would seem to ruin that for me.
>tfw surfacing at night and seeing the big ass moon looking at you
>>343314852
Thats a pretty good idea, I'd love to see a general up as well.
Hope you like tentacle porn and soft vore.
>>343310017
thats a lame ass monster whoever designed this should kill himself
>>343315445
Can this thing trap your seamoths/cyclops?
>>343313915
The wiki says the Emperor "is currently capable of removing 80% of health from the player.", but I guess that will get patched out then.
>>343315571
Not big enough to bother the Cyclops. It looks like it can at least grab the Seamoth but damaging it is another story.
>>343315549
The reptilian design is getting a little old, I agree.
I hope they implement some agressive colossal creatures more like the Reefback or Crabsquid.
Basically, more bizarre/alien looking enemy giants.
>>343315990
Is that a stalker in the seamoth? Is it a new stalker variant they are adding where it was attracted to the metal of a crashed seamoth and got stuck inside? Or is it a situation of fallout 3 train head?
>>343316072
there should be an octopus creature too
>>343315778
Right now it has the AI and pathing of the Boneshark. The damage is likely its retaliation atack if you try to mess with it.
>>343316072
>>343315549
It's a fire-breathing dragon, stop whining.
>>343307120
>Coming back from a long trip to my home base
>It's near the starting point so I didn't set up a beacon and just use the escape pod as a reference
>Let's make this a quick trip, I'll hop out of the seamoth and swim in and out after dropping some shit.
>Reach the pod, dive only to realize I'm apparently in high water
>I've had problems about the terrain not loading but for the entire shallow to take this long, what the fuck
>Hear distant roar
>This doesn't sound like fart-seal or reefback noises
>Look back up
>Pod isn't there anymore
>It's slowly moving in a straight line
>This isn't the safe shallow at all
>Barely reach the seamoth in time before the reaper finds me
Eventually the pod reached it original position, but fuck if I know what made it move so far away from the center.
Did you guys ever experience escape pods taking strolls like that?
>>343316072
I want more crustaceans. This game has too few
>>343316246
Usually my pod veers over some kelps, but that is exactly the reason why I put a beacon above my home base. I don't want any extra spooks when I am coming back to base.
>>343316220
>It's a fire-breathing dragon, stop whining.
It fits the sea dragon, sure, but I hope future creatures look more alien. Judging by the Warper and pic related I think we're in luck.
>Drive over to mushroom forest edge below Aurora
>Start scanning fragments on the large sloping edge
>A fragment starts rolling down
>The reaper decides to wander around far below it
>Fragment starts tumbling faster to the huge pit
Fuck.
>>343307841
Know what the worst thing about the Cyclops is? Sometimes Reaper Leviathans can still pull you out of it if their mouth hitbox somehow phases through the Cyclops hitbox. I was pulled out of the cockpit and killed like that before. Now I just try to keep the cockpit as far out of the way of their mouths as possible.
>>343313439
You can build a submarine like that?
>>343310017
So is this thing in the game yet or what?
>>343316680
I found all those wierd crab arms in a cave about 900m deep, is it an unfinished area?
>>343316856
Yep, its a biome called Lost River still in development. Its going to feature sludge rivers and spooky, ghostly looking fauna as far as we know.
Also possiblyprecursor bases.
>>343316856
those aren't crab armsthey're a creature's ribcage
>>343316856
Yep. The Lost River is meant to look more like that picture. Currently it is the very bare boneshehof the biome.

Not yet, likely the next big update.
>>343309119
>go to aurora
>find nothing but those annoying jumping crab shits
>fix the reactor
>never come back
So much for those reapers or what the fuck ever, haven't encountered anything more dangerous than those burrowing shark fuckers yet
>>343309456
I've had a SHITLOAD of random flying (both in and above water) debris spawn really close to my base and lifepod.
Kind of hope they will remove themselves, either through update or some re-spawn of the environment, or it really ruins the aesthetics, and the whole save file by extension
>>343317419
gotta go deep
My base is comfier than your base.
>>343310017
Why couldn't the sea dragon look more like this? 100% disappoint
Wishlists?
>bigger rooms
>more rooms that actually do shit, like a cyclops docking bay or an oxygen reserve silo, maybe oxygen purifiers in the super deep ocean and oxygen converters as a base essential
>more types of windowed walkways, double-wide walkways and automatic transportation like carts for large bases
>power storage
>a loaded colt .45 to kill nigger children with
>electric pylons that mess up the sensory organs of some fish making them leave your base alone, can be set to attract fish too
>different ways to light your base, different lighting options for rooms, alarms and claxons and emergency lights for when a hull is breached
>stationary cameras that can be placed around base and connected to monitors
>a larger variety of deep-sea fish, such as anglers and giant squid and basking sharks
>even larger aquariums for full grown fish and mega-sized aquatic life, aquarium walkways, aquariums for kelp harvesting
just refunded
idk why i bother with survival games, and this feels fucking slower than most of them

>>343318374
It ain't scary because you see it in clear water.
It's supposed to be found in the Inactive Lava Zone with different lighting and you won't be able to access it with your Seamoth, so you're probably going to have to meet it with your Exosuit.

I think if you max out depth compensators on the seamoth it can go 900m, or maybe a bit more.
>>343321552
Sea Moths can't scan anything, you have to get out regardless.
There are pressure compensators for the Sea Moth. Mk.1 can be found for free in the Aurora, which updates your crush depth from 200 to 300. Mk. 2 is up to 500, but requires ~20 titanium, 2 lithium, and aluminum oxide. Mk. 3 is double that requirement, but crush depth is now 900.
>>343321680
Not even the penguins are safe from the turks.
>>343321641
But the moth cant scan.
And I've seen people dive to 3k. Were they cheating?
>>343321552
You can upgrade the diving crush depth.
In the coming updates pressure will also affect your character, but we will have DNA Infusing then.
>>343321794
Yes, they were cheating. You can have 4 pressure compensators total, but each only adds +700 cush depth at mk 3. With all 4 in, you'd have a crush depth of 3,000, but any lower would immediately toast your Sea Moth, since you wouldn't be able to have any other upgrades.
>>343321794
Pressure affecting the diver hasn't been implemented yet. It only damages vehicles atm.
just posting shit that would look good in now
>>343321721
Yeah but that's Sea Moth crush depth. Meaning if you get out, you die?
Is there a history of save compatibility? I'm guessing the conversion away from voxel terrain is going to break saves? I'm debating whether to wait for the update before properly laying into this. Also debating whether to buy it so I dont have to wait a week or two for updates.
>>343321721
>Sea Moths can't scan anything, you have to get out regardless.
That's his whole point sherlock. He is talking about how would you leave the seamoth to scan things at depths under 240.
The answer is that depth doesn't crush you, only your vehicles. Personally I don't mind too much since things turn out better this way, but it doesn't make much sense that your seamoth and cyclops can be crushed by depth but not your body.
>>343321945
Ah.
>>343321952
Pressure doesn't hurt you, it just drains your biometrics faster. 900 crush depth would drain your oxygen like 20/second, and you'd be losing hunger and thirst nearly every second down there.
>>343321794
>And I've seen people dive to 3k. Were they cheating?
Maxed out Exosuit has a crush depth of 1700 unless something new got added in a recent build. So yeah people were probably messing around with the dev console, though "cheating" isn't quite right for a build at this stage of things. You have to use the console to spawn and experiment with a lot of stuff at all right now, and it's important to push things a bit to give good feedback. If someone has already done everything else moving into the console is a fair next step.
Can you grow creepvines or do I need to keep heading to a forest every time i want lube?

>Listened to the sounds it makes

Cuz internal pressure is the same as external pressure. That's why oxygen toxicity exists. You breathe in way more of it at higher depth because of the pressure.
>built my first base in super shallow water near the escape pod
>finally build a seamoth after a bit
>mfw I have to set up shop somewhere else
Tell me, what's a typical depth or location for a base? Somewhere smack dab in the middle of the map?
The problem with the sea dragon is that it is simply too fantastical to be scary, it looks like a monster in a childrens book or nintendo game. We need a huge nautiloid, liopleurodon, jellyfish or eel because those are fucking creepy.
>no gigantic, sleek black leech eel with very basic features
>no giant jellyfish that at first looks like a forest of kelp
>no huge uncanny nautiloids
>noancient obelisks engraved with strange obscene hieroglyphs of ghastly fish men worshiping their god
>>343322663
A lot of new shit, apparently.
>>343322496
It's more about exploration than building. Your base is really simple, and you can get away with only 10 minutes of building throughout the entire game.
And no, the world is open as fuck, and there's tons to do and see. The point is to go see everything you can, learn the fragmented story, and get rescued. There's a very clear progression chart that you pretty much end up following no matter what you do, even if you don't know anything about the game.
I want some kind of biological counterpart for the seamoth. A reasonably large, fast-swimming sea creature that you can raise in your ayyquarium, latch onto and have it pull you through the water when it's grown up and maybe even fend off some of the smaller predators while you are busy with collecting quartz.

The Reaper's face has a very basic earth-creature-like monster design, with some extra eyes. The Sea Emperor has a cool looking face, but has almost the same body as the Dragon.
The Reaper should have had an anglerfish face, and the Emperor should have been more like a bulbous, kraken/octopus thing. Just these two quick ideas off the top of my head would have made them a lot more intimidating appearance wise.

I played for like an hour today, just pissing around in freedom mode
I keep jumping from 90 to 30 fps and it makes me so nauseous, how do you guys deal with it
>>343325220
Sandstone or limestone deposits, man
>>343325220
Oh, that was probably just a stalker or something. They're completely harmless.
Copper is found in limestone outcrops, where you get titanium from as well. There's a big coral tube with a bunch of them.
>>343325374
>tfw need silver but finding 0 (zero) sandstones and only limestones everywhere

>De Rol Le
Was it long and white, or very long and electrified?
If it's the latter, you've got every right to be scared, otherwise, just shank the bugger
>>343325354
Going FAST between biomes will fuck up your FPS. They're fixing that soon by removing terraforming.
I'll never understand people that complain about copper. It literally spawns infinitely under sea treaders.
>>343314516
We Sphere now
>>343325467
Life sucks. I want to play the game but have to wait until they do, cuz I ain't installing this on a SSD just to make it playable.
>>343325467
I hope so.
Even the 70-90 drop when I'm diving in the kelp forest is enough to put me out for a minute.
>>343325441
Sandstone is found deeper down, about 50 - 140m deep. Usually in Creepvine Caves, the Volcano Caves, or the floor of Red Grass biomes.
Just get 2 oxygen tanks and dive down to the bottom of the red grass biomes.
>>343325489
is the sea treader's path a good place for a base?
no aggressive fauna, infinite minerals, close to grand reef and blood kelp...
seems good to me
>>343325460
I've got console commands on so it doesn't really matter, I couldn't figure out how to get a pressure compensator mk2 so I can make a mk3
>>343325489
>Using copper
>Ever past the early game
Why, though? Aurora and the surrounding wrecks have like 4 power supplies and 20 batteries. Plus you now have recharging stations.
I saw people talking about the removal of the terraformer improving poor performance. Aside from save file bloat, why? I initially thought it might be abandoning the voxel terrain but that would be an obscene engine conversion. Also when the fuck is it supposed to happen? It's been pending since december.
>spawn the exosuit
>"hey, now I can go deep!"
>jump into the mushroom caves
>no sonar module, can't find a way out
>energy is running low
Things I will never do in real life: cave diving.
>>343325647
Sea Treaders will attack you. They deal as much damage as a Sand Shark.
>build my first base
>wanted to make cool observatory room with a 360 degree view
>build glass windows around
>the whole shit base explodes
Where the fuck am I supposed to go to find Lithium? And is it even possible to salvage the base after it's flooded? I'm a bit annoyed by this.
>>343325761
Removing of digging. The game has to run a check for every piece of sand that could be modified, drastically lowering performances in biomes with a lot of sand. When there are 5k pieces of sand in a biome, cutting out the checks helps immensely on your memory usage.
>>343325681
It's nice to have your cyclops loaded with a shitload of batteries and power cores for LONG ass voyages.
Yes I know you can put chargers inside the cyclops and even charge power cores, but that's broken and it's gonna be fixed soon.
>>343325782
Use a welder to patch the holes and use doors + foundations to increase health.
Whats the best way to increase FPS? Even on minimum settings I get horrible framerates
>>343324427
>1. Find the island

>2. Fix the Aurora
>3. Find beds

>4. Go to the Mountains biome in only a Sea Moth (trust me, this is not ill advised AT ALL)
What...? Ok I'll check them out.
>5. Go to the Dunes biome in only a Sea Moth
Ok
>6. Explore the caves, finally. Like 33% of the game is located underneath the sea floor already, and they're only adding more.
Ok!
I'm guessing the cyclops is highly recommended for these further places. I'm not even sure how close I am to finding all of the parts. I'll know, won't I?
So I built a cyclops but I haven't used it yet since I ejected my Seamoth from it and it exploded.
How the hell do you maintain its power cells? I felt like putting a power cell charger in it, but at the same time wouldn't that suck power from the ship to charge the cells?
>>343325771
Good. Than all that treasure will be mine and mine alone.
Early in development they had a "Sand worm" creature, more of a giant crustacean thing, that would lurk beneath the ocean floor and erupt upward to attack anything swimming over it. The devs decided it was "too overpowered" and stopped working on it, despite them being the ones making the damn thing and they can modify and adjust it however they wanted to. It can be spawned in Experimental Mode, but its only animation is going up and down, plus it drains health instead of removing chunks of it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFtfPOCQwiY
Hopefully they come to their senses and work on it again, this thing would be awesome and a nice threat in wide-open places like the Dunes, Mountains, and Grassy Plateau.
>>343325782

Do seamoth fragments spawn in any particular place? Still haven't found any and I've been to the floating island and the Aurora
>>343325782
Lithium is easy to get. It can be found in abundane on the Mountain Island. Don't worry, it's completely safe to go there, even without a Sea Glide.
>>343326034
Red grass zone
>>343310017
Now where have I seen that before
>>343325927
Put a powercell charger in it. You basically have infinite power at that point. You generate power much more faster compared to the loss in power. It can literally be your only base. I have plants and an aquarium set up in there for food. Battery and powercell charger for unlimited energy. It's a mobile base, I'm sure he'll change it so that you can't put your powercell charger in there or change the power to charge ratio. As it stands now powercell charger in your cyclops will generate infinite energy.
>>343325952
Looks better than the Sea Dragon.

>>343325761
The entirety of the terrain in the game right now is hundreds of thousands of little pieces that need to be individually put in and have a bunch of shit tracking it. That's why framerates and pop-in and clipping and all sorts of other problems are happening. Getting rid of it will make the game work a lot faster and better. Plus it'll prevent your save files and shit form being corrupted because you built underground and they make changes to the terrain.
All this really affected was one creature who they'll put in after adjusting its behavior and gimmick.
>>343326034
just a tip, the fragments look like metal scrap. At first I thought Seamoth fragments they looked like those usual small boxes.

They used to, and also used to be found in Safe Shallows. Sea Moth fragments got their updated look, along with Cyclops fragments.
They're going to update the look of all the fragments in the game when they can.

What are pretty areas to build bases in?
I've tried the mushroom forest, but windows remove the nice bioluminescence and make the whole area look dull.
Maybe the underwater islands? Looks like it would be nice for 200 thermal generators.
>>343326534
Not yet. The update after this next one is supposed to have the Transfuser, which starts a base invasion by *something*. Running low on Oxygen while diving is still a time limit, I suppose.
This game has about 15 hours worth of gameplay for those who are interested. Things to as of now.
1. Build a base
2. Build seamoth/cyclops
4. scan every possible thing
5. See every biome
6. Repair aurora
I did them all in a span of 15 hours. It's a great game but I still wish more from it. Also once you get the damn freeze gun the game is a lot less scary. Need to adjust it so it takes certain shots instead of instant one freeze shots. I can see why adding guns to the game would make it ridiculously easy.

Yea cuz the voxel terrain takes shitloads of data streaming from HDD. If you have a fast SSD it's not much of a problem, but if you don't it's a huge problem.
>>343326756
Because it has to check if any sand chunks are missing. Other things than you can dig (namely Sand Sharks).

I wonder if we'll get some sort of deep sea power suit.
Like you need to deploy it from your submarine into caves too deep for the seamoth to reach.
When they do finally finish the game, it'd be pretty cool if when the rescue team comes to save you some giant demon sea beast jumps out of the water and destroys the ship.
>multiplayer gets implemented

Bleach is Salt (Found on the ground) + Coral, I think.
>>343327253
You can get water from Airsack fish. That'll keep you alive until you make either a Desalinization machine or a Stilsuit, then you'll never worry about water again.
>>343327253
Look for the fish that look like this pokemon.
You can use them to make regular water.

So I just started out for the first time in this and I'm wondering what some early game goals or things to start making or look out for would be?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Should have died at the Aurora crash. Man eat meat. I don't care if the survivor is a woman, she is going to eat meat too.
>>343328012
Nowhere is both safe and pretty. You're shit out of luck
>>343328029
I usually go like this:
-make two Air Tanks
-make Fins
-make Knife
-make Radiation Suit
That will keep you going until after the Aurora explodes, then craft a Welder and head over to it to fix the engines and stop the radiation. After that is when you can easily start gathering materials and building bases and stuff.
>>343328029
Some early game goals for you is to explore and discover the game by yourself.
Let me tell you something, this game is NOT rich on content. At least not yet. Exploration and uncovering new things is what the game is all about, you are killing half of it by asking on the internet.
Do you have to strictly wait out the nights, or is there a sleep mechanic? The ocean kinda scares me to go in after dark, even with a flashlight
I just used the console command "entreset" to reload all the assets in the game except terrain. Wonder if i should revert to my save or keep going. I have done everything thus far without cheats
>>343328029
Make a new thread because this one will 404 soon
1) Make swimming fins from the glowing kelp seed pods
2) Craft 2 O2 tanks so you don't have to resurface every 10 seconds
3) Craft a scanner and use it to scan everything, especially the little box looking craft fragments. Eventually you'll get the Seaglide and solar panel ones, which allow you to A) go fast and B) build a base
4) Make a habitat builder. Now that you have a base, you can store gear in proper lockers and find cool things.
>>343328350
You don't need sleep. Sleep is for the weak.
>>343321092
Yep mine does at least.
>>343328350
Once you scan and can craft a bed, you'll be able to sleep in it so the night goes by faster. Dunno if it will also heal you.
>>343327398
>humanoid creatures
that's where you lost me
I like the big dumb seadragon. It managed to spoop me.
Ultra glide fins or charge fins with the seaglide?
Which would allow me to aquire more fast.
>>343326191
We all saw what happened you expository fag.
I was able to find some crash powder today, is it me or do crash fish not have powder that often? It's a pain in the ass.
I did get lucky in a cave in the shallows, I swam up to the side of a crashfish pod and he blew up without chasing me. It would also be pretty funny if you you get crash fish eggs and if they grew up in your tank they would blow you up when you entered.
>>343325681
I use tons of copper for decorative labels around my base, like those little signs you find in office buildings showing directions. Also for picture frames to decorate my rec rooms and fill alls in my alien study areas.
