Gunners don't get their full range of options and neither do Gunlances either.
There's absolutely no way Prowler is even 25% represented in the demo, the palico system has been copy-pasted through effectively every game so there's little reason to believe you won't a huge variety of weapons and abilities, especially considering playing solo there's two other prowler palico with similar but different loadouts and the the basic moveset you have.

You only lose the backhop charge in Striker, which isn't really a big deal.
Striker SnS is considered to be the most overpowered weapon in MHX because it charges hunting arts fast as fuck. Considering the round attack hunting art charges fast and makes you invincible it makes for a very deadly weapon.
Not only that, but all the other SnS hunting arts are really good and charge relatively fast.

It feels like the sweet spot for perfect guarding is similar to the i-frames for evasion, not quite at the start but still front loaded.
The timing is a little painful for me to get used to, I might give up on being a guard based lance again. Also I hate how you can't cancel the weird ass animation.

I can't think of a game where HH was ever trash, even their debut game. It's always been mediocre or awesome.
Whereas GL has always been trash outside of bugged mechanics that got fixed in the next game. My heart goes out to those poor gunlance mains who work so hard to have a good time with that weapon, and I mean both aspects of the phrase "good time" there. I give you points for style.

My 3DS is hacked but I wanted to play the localized version.
I've avoided all information about the game aside from trailers and now I'm ready to play the demo.
Am I the only one who is really happy with the mechanics overhaul on Lance? I mean, it doesn't have the OP counter from original Tri but it finally feels like a heavy weapon and not just like I'm performing dentistry on the monsters.
I mean, it still needs work, but I'll probably end up maining it in this one anyway.
The thing I'm hating the most about gunlance now is that I can no longer shell safely with X+A. Due to aerial style, I can still accidentally blast someone if they're jumping above me.
I mean, that already happened to IGs in 4U, but that was okay because they were all shitters.

The only thing I wish the lance was a rushing poke/slice like the gunlace has when you hold forward and press X. I know it has the moving shield bash into poke but that feels slow and you have to block first and then move.
I just want the lance to feel more mobile.

If you tilt the control stick after jumping off the monster, you will keep moving forward in the air. Once you get the jump, don't touch it, and you will stay in place.

Lance has been fast capable since Evade Distance but I get what you're coming from. I think the shield lunge is okay with proper preemption but yeah it seems weird that gunlance gets a thrust lunge and lance doesn't. We should steal that from them. They already suffer so much, what's a little more.

You can do a jump roll from the unsheathing attack, which is also a great move.
You can change your direction of your charge attack with the circle pad, but not mid charge
