In my experience, ten hours on a PS4 controller is a pipe dream. If it makes it eight, I'd count myself lucky. Sony also didn't put in a limiter on how much power the thing can draw when plugged in, so if you charge with a high amp charger (like comes with new smartphones) you'll fry it. Devices made ten years ago work just fine, but not the DS4. Fried my first controller this way. Still works, but no light bar, and the battery lasts about half as long now.

I just told you Xbone controllers and PS4 controllers cost roughly the same. Here's a snapshot of US's and UK's amazon. In my country PS4's controller costs 10€ less than Xbone's.
There's a big difference between having a shitty outdated huge resistive screen (WiiU) and a small capacitive sensor (DS4) which was produced at least 4x more and numbers will increase in the future, making it even cheaper because its made in a larger scale.
Putting more shit into your product isn't the only thing that makes it expensive, there's a lot of other factors in productions and distribution that affect the price just as much.
You can theorize all day, but in reality DS4 costs as much as Xbone's controller. That's all there is to it man.
