They're okay, as far as chink shit portables go they're pretty good, I've not heard of many quality issues which is a huge step up from how these were last decades

Performance is great, but buttons feel a bit spongy. Not deal breakingly spongy though. I think I just notice the build quality more since its almost identical to the 3ds xl but not half as good, but still fine in its own right.

Forgot to mention, it excels in battery life though. 6 hours screen on time and only at little over half battery.

I've got a GCW Zero that I've been quite happy with. Excellent for emulating most consoles before the 32 bit era, and they're currently in the middle of finally getting around to achieving pretty good PS1 emulation, being only a few optimisation and compatibility updates away from being pretty great, N64 seems to be on the horizon too.

The scene for it is extremely quiet though, so if you're looking for a lively community you'd best look elsewhere.

The build quality has been as far as I can tell pretty high, although the D-pad and button quality could be better, I ended up lubricating my d-pad and buttons work out the issues. They recently came out with a redesigned d-pad and buttons that solve the issues though.

They're generally out of stock at the moment but go for about 135USD, dunno how that stacks up cost-wise to the alternatives.

Why the fuck do people waste money with garbage like this. For emulation that shit you may as well hack a PSP and if you got some solution for the controls modern phones can do DS and N64 perfectly fine too. PS2 and GC are on the horizon for phones.

I chose "GPD Q9 PSV" over GPD XD, for that 7" screen size.

it feels sturdy and reliable, I don't even turn the thing off, just the screen. It's been 1 year and it's still got all my save games for my snes and gba emulated games on it, no issues.

my previous 7" JXD shit the bed and died. the controls felt bad too.
