Can We have a Dead Rising thread?
>>
>>343263595
I've heard bad things about that port.
>>
>>343264238
It's playable but they definitely fucked up things
>>
Not with that game as the OP.
>>
>>343263595
Isn't this more like an arcade game? I need the ISO to this.

DR1 pc port when?
>>
>>343263595
fantastic
>>
So what is everyone's favorite Psychopath?
Also i'm going to go to a con as frank west and host a panel. Is there any tips on how to make a good frank west cosplay?
Sorry for the blog.
>>
>>343264615
If they ever do a remaster, it might come to pc.
>>
>>343264636
Chainsaw clown, also like the cinema cultist leader
>>
>>343264636
I know Killer Clown is the easiest spooky thing to sell, but damn it I love Adam.
>>
>>343264636
Best psychos are the convicts if they count. They make the game so interesting. I also really like the Carlito boss fights and the snipers in DR1 though.

And if you want to look Frank-like I think it's 90% the physique. If you're built solidly you just need a shitty coat/jacket with an unbuttoned white shirt and you're there.
>>
>>343265286
so you think a 6'3 man with a bit of pudge can pull it off?
>>
>>343265425
That sounds about right. Have to be on the solid side though, broad shoulders and that. If you look like Francis Dollarhyde with a small gut it won't work obviously.
>>
>>343265541
yeah, I have a pretty big build. I'm trying to lose abit of weight this summer by swimming and not eating garbage.
>>
I want DR1 on any other platform.

All my 360 are kill.
>>
>>343264238
It's much better than the ps3 version

You like zombies in your zombie game? Well we'll reduce the numbers because the Wii can't handle them.
>>
dead rising 2 and off the record with $6 each on steam sale?
>>
What is it about the DR1 that makes it so much more memorable and charming than the rest of the series
>>
>>343263595
I just picked the Xbox version up today. Haven't played it since launch. I'm having a lot of fun but the second carlito boss is giving me trouble.
>>
>>343266539
The mall and better sense of isolation
>>
>>343263595
I'm currently playing OTR

can't wait to upgrade my PC for 3 and 4
>>
>>343266703
Is that the sniper one? If I remember right it's vulnerable as hell in close quarters if you can close the gap with him. Did you do the gun store first night or weren't you hardcore enough?

>>343266539
Genuine struggle to get shit done forces you to get good. Herding survivors is painful in the first game but in the 2 they might as well warp to the safehouse once you talk to them. I never played 3 but I think they actually started doing this.
>>
>>343264636
The insane grocer always spooked me the most. He also always seemed so tragic, because he seemed to genuinely care about his customers.
>>
>>343266897
I didn't do the gun store yet. First night I was busy with adam/kent/park guys and now it's too late.
>>
>>343267182
Fair enough. Gunstore is an absolute bastard to handle until you get good. It took me about 5 playthroughs to realize I could just walk back out the front door if I desperately needed a moment to heal rather than hiding behind those puny racks that only stop half of incoming gunfire.
>>
>>343267263
The racks stop all the bullets and if you have a handgun from the police zombies it's pretty easy to just gun and take cover.
>>
>>343267182
a good way to take him out without guns is to grab a hockey stick and slapshot him to death
>>
>>343267386
>pretty easy to just gun and take cover
easy my ass, those racks could never protect me worth shit. I actually prefer bringing orange juice and weeb-swords/small-chainsaw to take him out now because I'm so shit at the guns method. When you jump the counter you can get a hit or two in against him before he throws you if you're lucky and with a high-damage weapon it's a decent way to kill him.

By jumping the counter you can also grab one of his shotguns and use that against him for the rest of the fight if you're clever.
>>
>>343264636
My personal favorties are Steven, Sean, Adam, Brandon, and the Twins

The only remotely good pyschopath from 3 was the German bitch and even then she was so-so

If you're afraid of not looking like Frank, wear a servbot helmet. There's a few cosplayers that do it. Also get a nice camera like Nikon or some shit

With the announcement of DR4 along with all the recent talk of DR made me cave in, borrow a 360 and buy DR1 for cheap.
And holy shit, it is different to the later games; it can be more stressful, hard, more scary, but also pretty damn good.

I only wish that the survivors who can walk on their own weren't so fucking braindead. Between the convicts and the large hordes of zombies, I had to abandon the japanese tourists that you can encounter after the Adam fight, and had to let them die alone because it was impossible to get them to the warehouse, which left me feeling rather bummed.
>>
>>343268502
The are before the warehouse and the Al Fresco Plaza are probably the two hardest areas to escort people through. I've never had trouble with the two tourists though. Since they're right near the roller coaster I always used the small chainsaw to clear a path for them.
>>
I liked Shop til you Drop. Sure the original was better, but for being on the wii it was honestly amazing it was good at all. Not fantastic but still. Plus you got to run around using RE4 weapons which I had fun with.

Biggest offenders in it were the removal of like three bosses and turning the convicts into a qte fight.
>>
>>343268502
Give anyone you're escorting guns. Grab handguns from cops and give it to them, or better yet shotguns. They get infinite ammo and even just a handgun on them gives them a much better chance of surviving.
>>
>>343268502
Instead of the follow command, spam the run to this point command. It seems to work better for me.
>>
>>343269181
I believe what happens when you spam the follow/go commands is forcing the AI partners to recalculate their route each time.
>>
>>343268704
Wait, those mini chainsaws respawn?

Did you know that I've covered wars?

Yep. Granted, with the magazine triumvirate, it's not often that you need to replace them, but they come back.

The Twins and Slappy.

Currently playing 2. I rented 1 years ago and was blown away by how great it was for an early 360 title, rented 2 a year or two later and was disappointed by how different it felt. Picking it up again now, it's solid and I'm enjoying it, but it's so janky. Chuck feels slow, it takes forever to get back to the saferoom, the missions tend to keep me in the same few areas (I barely get to explore the other part of the mall where the water slide looking thing is), I miss the camera. The brightside is combo weapons, better AI, and co-op. Bretty comfy. Still like 1 better, though.
>>
>>343271793
The combo weapons were awful and the new survivor AI is too competent.
>>
>>343266539
Credibility.

As much as it seems stupid about a game where a hairy man with can put on toddler's clothes and a horsemask and kill zombies with fish: any time a cutscene or text dialog appears Frank reacts like a man exposed to an unheard of plague with a gumption to get to the bottom of a story would.

He doesn't trust the DHS, and by their very virtue assumes they must be hiding something. Then he hammers on that until they give him the scoop. When he agrees to help he doesn't appear to throw himself headlong into harm's way or until things get desperate. Even after that he's interested in the terrorist's side of the story and goes to just as much risk to get it out of him. At first he's terrified and stunned when he encounters psychopaths as the days go on he starts adapting to the situation and begins trying to reason, within their own madness to them.

Chuck starts Dead Rising 2 in a Pay Per View Zombie killing competition. With an implicit and explicit backstory that he already carved his way out of a zombie outbreak. And then the story, for all of Chuck's personal investment resolves itself 2 cases in, and it would only be 1 if Rebecca wasn't completely oblivious. Also Chuck is a complete psychopath, while he berates them, he seems to enjoying killing people enough to make jokes about it.

Also there's also just nagging bits that don't make sense. Chuck expressly loves Katey but puts other people's wellbeing ahead of her's and keeps leaving her with strangers. This is because of a game mechanic that forces Chuck to be with Katey for the Zombrex... but the story tries and justify it. Giving an impression Chuck won't do sensible things to protect her. Then money comes into play. From the sets of survivors you need to pay to have them allow to save you, to the realization that Chuck would only win enough for 33 days worth of MSRP Zombrex from TIR; no one really cared enough to make it make sense.

Never. I have wanted this ever since I sold my 360 5~ years ago.
