I'm pretty new to the game but I'm a bit lost. I made a knife, some fins, a welding gun (took me forever to figure out where crash powder was from), and an oxygen tank. I'm kind of lost on what to do now, where do I go from here? I repaired my escape pod and what a waste that was, all I got was some message.

Yes.
I'm running a i5 3570k, R9 270X, and 8GB.
I get 70fps average.
Just expect to still lag a little from the extreme amount of pop-in the game currently has due to the terraforming.
This will be fixed in the next update in which terraforming will be removed from the game, I guess until they figure out how to un-fuck it.

The lag is from pop-in which cannot be avoided no matter how good your system is currently. Terraforming is being removed and the pop-in will go away once the latter is.

Been doing F11. If I look in my PDA all the screenshots are there, but they have no picture to them; they're just blank boxes with the image title. If I click on one, it flickers over to viewing it, still blank, then goes back to browsing the list.

I don't know what this is and I can't find anything on searches about it.

I just hit 25 hours in this game. It's an experience, I'll probably hold off from playing for now till the next big update so I don't lose the replay ability. If anyone's in this thread who is on the fence about getting this you can easily get 20 hours of content if you like exploring and a really detailed world to explore.
>>
>>343248461
Sale hit, and there have been some nice updates recently.
>>
>>343248461
It still has a bit of work left to do, and I didn't play it early on so I can't compare, but it's a lot of fun now and it's really clicking for me. Got 8 hours up so far and a lot more to come.
>>
>>343248461
There's enough scannable blueprints to keep you searching for a good while, there's enough craftables to make a large base reasonable since before you could pretty much fit everything you needed in one multipurpose room, and there's been some additions that up the comfy factor like beds, desks and areas for gardening. It's still got a ways to go, and the performance is still really crap, but it's been a solid 20 hours of fun for me so far.
>>
>>343248461
it still needs some work but it's fun and playable

updates pretty regularly too

I was so close to buying this game but then I saw no multiplayer. I love playing games like this with my friends. Figuring shit out and exploring games none of us have played before can't be beat. I read a post from the developers how implementing MP would require a rework of the entire game. That sounds like bullshit to me. Maybe if you want the game to have pacing that matches the amount of players but who really gives a fuck about that?

"House boat" reminded me of ARK, since you can build a raft and set up a base on it, and the ocean floor has shit you need.

Going diving deep underwater for pearls and oil is very important late game, and you can tame, saddle, and ride Ichthyosaurs or Megalodons for quicker travel and defense underwater.

You can also tame large aquatic dinos like pic related and build a mobile aquatic base on their back.
>>
>>343249139
I don't think you can get the Cyclops power module back can you? You might want to check into that one. Early enough you should be able to restart if you can't get it back/spawn from console or something
>>
>>343249018
Yeah I completely agree, I bought it thinking it had at least 2 player co-op or something for my one mate who would enjoy it. Then I read what you're talking about.

It does sound like a bit of bullshit but honestly I'm enjoying the game too much to worry about it. Hopefully they at least start work on mp soon otherwise my interest in it will die much sooner.

>I read a post from the developers how implementing MP would require a rework of the entire game. That sounds like bullshit to me

They don't mean the game design, they mean the code. They would have to reprogram a massive chunk of the game to make it work in multiplayer.

How do you even fuck it up this bad? How do you not stop and say "will this work in our multiplayer game"?

It's on a modified version of the engine used on Natural Selection 2, a multiplayer game. I doubt adding mp would be difficult at all.

You can, it's how I farmed teeth. I dropped ten baby stalkers in an empty area with no grass, then parked my seamoth next to them. They fought over it, got about ten teeth per minute.

Reapers are harmless unless you drive right up to them and make no attempt to escape. The only one that's even remotely dangerous is the one by the Aurora since it guards the entrance, and even then it's still a little ways away.
>>
>>343254504
pirate it and purchase it if you feel you got your money's worth from it

So there is going to be an update where we get to explore the Degasi, right? I really want to know what happened. Also, when is the alien race supposed to be implemented?

I thought I would too because I actually really dislike survival games as a general rule, I get very bored very quickly, and I am also shit at base building. However there is just enough going on with the base building in this that it seems to click. I'd recommend you pirate it then buy it later if you enjoy it.

While I disagree and think the game is fun, these hourly threads are soon going to start drying up. The amount of shitposter like yourself are also increasing in these threads with every new thread. Subnuatica threads need to chill, no one is going to have anything to say after a couple more threads, they're going to burn out. The first few were cool though, very comfy.
>>
>>343257697
There is a side entrance somewhere past halfway towards the front. You'll know it when you go along the edge and there's a sudden deep crevice. The hole in the side is down through that.

The front itself is broken apart and you can just hop in by ramp.

I would love if they set it up so you could build in your own soundtrack- have specific music play when in specific areas, based off the time of day, what depth you're at, potential of danger, etc. I've been listening to some random music on pandora but I'd love something a little more focused.

Still debating if this game is worth it or not. Creative games with no focus bore the shit out of me.
>>
>>343257956
Left side, the side you spend the entire game on.
Just beware the million sandsharks hugging the sandy edge of the Aurora.

Also the reaper if he spawns. He didn't for me and I only had a seaglider.
>>
>>343258052
wtf are you talking about? left or right side of the ship from the viewing it from the back.
>>
>>343258183
I said right side, I don't really see whats so confusing about that
>>
>>343257807
That's okay though, isn't it? Just let the threads run their course until they dry up, probably soon like you say, and then when more big content comes out they'll probably resurface again, we'll have to sea what happens.
>>
>>343257937
There was a cliff next to me so I shut my eyes and drove up it then ended up at the front of the Aurora
>>
>>343258136

To be fair this is more of a crafting game than a creative one. You can't deviate much from the seaglide -> seamoth -> small base -> cyclops -> big base progression. Once you've got a cyclops with grow beds inside, fixed the aurora and gotten eaten by a reaper, the game gets pretty stale. Still, that's a solid 20-30 hours, which is decent value considering devs have been okay with updates so far.
