Its a straight up Metroid like game and not Metroidvania. That means it has no RPG elements like leveling, stats and item hoarding. Its just like the original Metroid games with challenging platforming, action and heavy focus on exploration.

DOOM is faster, but the MP is quite mediocre.
Outside of shooters, you can get Metal Gear Rising, really fast-paced, and good soundtrack, but the tracks that stand out are outright songs with vocals and such.
Not too long, but it really encourages replaying and is quite fun.
Arcade racing wise you have Rocket League, which is a combination of an arcade racing game and soccer.

I pirated Dying Light and it was not great. The combat is pretty bland and almost none of the items are worth crafting. Probably one of the most derivative games I've ever played. If you've played any other games in the past 8 years or so you will be bored since most of the mechanics are just copied from other popular games.
