A LARGE part of what makes MH great is your gear progression. It takes an appropriate amount of time to build a good set (usually) and it gives you a good sense of accomplishment when you finally finish it because it took time to do and it has a palpable payoff.
It feels like there is literally ZERO gear progression in god eater. As far as I can tell, weapons don't have upgrade trees, you just build a base weapon (for scraps really, it doesn't look like theres any reason to farm anything in this game, yet anyways) and thats it. You now have that weapon and it performs decently against whatever you decide to fight. It looks like theres only a handful of base "models" for equipment and then a handful of recolors based on which of the 4 elements you decide you want to use. AND THATS IT. Yeah you can "upgrade" them but all that does is just increase the stats and effectiveness of the skills on the gear, theres no model upgrade or change is there?
Can a god eater pro shed some light on this for me?

Buster swords are way too slow it seems, spears are neat but that charge attack means you gotta constantly distance yourself from the enemy, rush in with the charge, and then run away to do it again. The scythe you can just stay back and wail on them with its extend form.

To be fair hammer and spear (and the scythe) were added in GE2 where there's blood arts that allows you to customize your moveset. Taking out blood arts in GER makes the new weapons pretty dull. The focus of GER are the predator styles anyway.

This is pretty much the kicker. By the time Europe gets Resurrection, Rage Burst is release everywhere. Pretty much anyone who plays Resurrection now, or skipped out because they played Burst, will jump ship to Rage Burst, leaving Europe and whoever else missed out populating Resurrection.
Meanwhile, everyone else will be running Scythes and still be a bunch of shitters because they didn't use their time in Resurrection to stop being bad and blame their team when they can't activate Blood Rage in Rage Burst.
