To be fair I think the problem with Tennis was more so that it was rushed. Camelot was able to do it right with Golf on the 3DS. I haven't played Ultra Smash but I hear the gameplay is solid but the problem with it is mainly being barebones in terms of content.

Yeah, feels like it. The NX isn't getting anything else. Ultra Smash needed to be there so they'd have something besides Xenoblade for Winter last year, and Color Splash gives them something for the rest of the year since we don't get Zelda until 2017. The new Party game on the 3DS feels like that too since we have a 3DS drought.
