Seriously, what did the ps2 have EXCLUSIVELY to make it better than Genesis, ps1, dreamcast, colecovision, nes, snes, or HELL even original xbox?
Why is the ps2 so overrated especially when a majority of its library also had gamecube, xbox, and pc ports? It has about 5-6 9/10 games, about 25 8's, and 1,000's upon 1,000's of shovelware and multiplats.

While i can see your reasoning and i almost entirely agree with it, reality is much different.
To be great, a console doesn't necessarily require exclusives(although they help a lot), rather it requires to be popular, to give diverse options, to give various forms of entertaining, and to have a wide range of 3rd party support, even if said 3rd party companies also release the same games on other consoles.

PS2 was the answer for ALL that.
All the other consoles weren't.
Plus, all the accessories for the PS1 worked on the PS2, so you already had at least a second controller(most MP games didnt require the pressure sensitive feature), plus whatever other accessory you had.
All this made it so a lot of people wanted a PS2 rather than the other options, it gave you more than its competitors.
And once more people had it, more developers made games for it.
Who cares if a game was also on NCG or XBOX, chances are most people had the PS2 version.
If you had a PS2 game and wanted to play it over at a friend's house, you could, because chances were he had a PS2 too, instead of a different console.

Because it was removed from it, because not all models had it in the first place, because even if you could play older games on it, you couldnt use any of the old peripherals(especially a MMC) without having to buy converters and adaptors, hence spending even more money on it.

The whole disc read error thing is a common problem but it is usually due to dust being on the laser.
We thought ours was fucked, it would take you an hour of trying to get a game working until my brother brought home a dvd player cleaner disc.
It looks like a plain disc except it had some fluffy black stuff on it, you would a tiny bit of cleaning stiff on the black stuff, pop it in and let it run for a bit.

Same here, PS1 was much more of a gimmick machine. "Look at the fancy new tech we have now! We can run an incredibly shitty fighting game in blocky, badly textured 3D very slowly! With terrible controls because thumbsticks haven't been invented yet!"
Most PS1 games were absolute trash that was Atari 2600 level in visual appeal and fun-to-play factor. PS2 had actual good games in large quantities.

Though I always tell people if you're gonna get one 6th Gen get the Xbox. Best versions of multiplats every time, easy as hell to softmod and throw in a new HDD and not have to worry nearly as much about old parts breaking.

I personally liked the PS1, I had more find memories. I played FF7, FF8, FF9, Tekken Tag, Chrono Cross, and maybe some others. When I was in the hospital for two weeks, they had a Playstation.
The PS2 was here and I only game'd Vice City and FFX. I loved FFX, but after the first year I never really got near it again.
The PS1 was used for 4 years, and it was translucent blue. Chip modded as well.

Atari had its huge-ass color palette because every fucking game on the machine uses crazy scanline tricks just to draw a picture, but it also means that nearly everything drawn is pretty crude
Intellivision has a low-ass resolution and a 16 ugly colors
and then the Colecovision had like double the resolution and double the sprites of the Intellivision, like 3x the speed, games looked nicer than on the 5200 (despite the 5200's specs)
Coleco really didn't deserve to die like they did, not with a machine like that on the market.
