Can you go here? Looking at the map I think it's actually out of the world's "bounds"
>>
You can go there. The map extends further than the horizon.
>>
LOOK AT HOW BIG IT IS

I MEAN IT'S LIKE THE NEXT ELDER SCROLLS
>>
>>343114752
I doubt, those mountains look way too generic, I think they're just background.
I mean, there must be a boundary somewhere afterall but it's not like there will be fucking void there.
>>
>>343114752
You can but after a certain point its all just flat ground

No trees, no rocks, nothing. Just flat emptiness expanding on endlessly.

Seriously though, how are they going to handle boundaries in this game? We know the ocean is one but what about the land boundaries? They've established that you can climb and glide so theoretically nothing should prevent you from continuing on the land part of the map... I just hope whatever excuse they have doesn't make you feel blue-balled.
>>
>>343115403
its botw fucktard
>>
>>343115790
mountains that are too high to climb?
>>
>>343115790
They just have to crank up the environment until it's too harsh to press further.
>>
>>343116403
That makes sense, and it's perfectly logical in setting and nature. Sometimes you have natural boundaries in places where you can't cross without proper equipment. Hyrule just needs to have massive massive peaks of walls too high too fully scale over, even with an upgraded stamina meter.
>>
>>343115790
The walls in the shrines are unclimbable so youre forced to do puzzles. I assume they'll just do the same.
>>
If you can see it you can go to it. That's the gist of it.
>>
>>343116776
BUILD A WALL NORTH OF HYRULE TO KEEP THE IMMIGRANTS OUT!!
>>
>>343116730
>>343115790
Glacial walls, too slippery or smooth to climb in the north, ocean to the east and south, scalding hot sandstorms to the west that halt any progress.

some ideas.
>>
>>343117407
im sure that one creative player will make a catapult to launch themselves over, however.
>>
>>343115790
If you leave the designated area, your warrant level climbs to 5 stars, and you are immediately assailed by tanks and helicopters.
>>
>>343115790
There's a stamina drain when climbing. If you make a wall high enough, Link will eventually lose his grip and fall to his death before he reaches the top.
>>
>>343117596
and it'll just be an infinite recurring landmass from there on like the stairs in SM64.
>>
>>343117693
they could add a lip over the top of a cliff, because Link cant climb on ceilings, it's a visually natural way to halt climbing entirely, because you can probably munch down on stamina food while climbing.

I expect lips over the cliffs and terrain to stop link getting to the top around the far borders of the map.
>>
>>343117802
that would be cool, frozen blizzard in the north and sandstorm in the west you can try to force your way through forever, but if you give up you can head back east/south and get back to land.
>>
>>343117987
Is there a Tundra to the north? iirc, Death Mountain always lies North, with a desert Northwest, and then plains/swamp to the far west, depending on the game.
>>
>>343118187
i guess the swamp could eventually come to impassable poisoned bog water.
>>
>>343115790
This is probably not how they will do it but it should be

>game has a boundary you are not supposed to go past
>you can go past it
>there is another 15 minutes worth of detailed land past that boundary
>once you pass is unique powerful monsters start spawning
>the longer you stay out of bounds the more powerful monsters spawn
>you can still kill/run from them for a while
>after enough time or distance a super monster spawns
>its unkillable and way faster than you
>it hunts you down and murders you in 1 hit
>>
>>343114752
but can you climb that mountain?
>>
I hope they incorporate procedurally-generated wilderness like Minecraft, I think it would be a better idea than just having invisible walls.

This. Chiko said, there's more beyond the map viewable from E3.

I think it will be like Majora's Mask's moon. You'll be able to run along for miles but then you get to a point like >>343115379 said and hit an invisible wall.

Large cracks in the ground that are too far apart to glide to and too high to scale.
Dense forest that's too thick to cut through or climb through.
Unclimbable mountains.
Instant death sandstorms.
Instant death blizzards.

fuck
>>
>>343118294
That's way too complex to program, and doesn't make sense. The way SM64 handled it with the infinite stairway is a lot simpler, and makes a lot more sense, that, plus just having natural boundaries that are unpassable, like mountains to high to scale, sandstorms, and tundras that will kill you, etc...

The entire point of the game is about nature and the elements, so it makes more sense for nature itself to provide a boundary than othewise, Especially since that's how it was back in the time before modern transportations. Large deserts, thick jungles, high mountains, and large bodies of water were the boundaries and obstacles that would impede migration in many cases.

Not "randomly spawning monsters that are out to kill you."

Who said the world isn't a continuous loop? Just like in Tales games, if you go to far right you just pop in on the left side of the map.
It's the only way they can do this without boundaries.

Just like in the Witcher 3 right?

Utah is actually Death Mountain. Which means it's roughly south of where Lon Lon Ranch Should be, making the desert Kokiri Forest, explaining the Kokiri's need for becoming Koroks and needing to get around high plateau wastelands.

Or the theory that the Great Plateau is not natural, it's been moved to protect it, it is high up from everything else on ground level (where it should be) and an eerie fog surrounding it and only it.
