Thinking about picking Skullgirls up in the summer sale, but is it actually a good fighting game or just muh waifu simulator? Which character a best?

It's not nice art, everything's hand-drawn, references up the ass, interesting characters, and a god-tier soundtrack.

What's the most fun character? What game is most comparable to, in a technical sense?

For me, I like Big Band.
I don't play very many fighting games, so I can't think of a good comparison.
But it's basically a six-button fighter, with your typical hypermoves, and a feature that pushes the opponent off of you if you're getting trapped into an infinite.

No, chance. The devs are done with the game and they've moved on to Indivisible.
A sequel could be possible if Indivisible sells well though.
