I want:

>Repulsion field you can build around your base to keep away hostile monsters.
>suit upgrade that wards off hostile monsters, maybe consumes batteries.
>some way to breath longer like an upgrade for the rebreather.
>more variety of smaller friendly critters.
>better building placing system.
>upgrading batteries to last longer.
>underwater currents that kinda act as a weather system?
>ability to grab onto/pet creatures like the reefback.
>another vehicle.
>more biomes.
>a backpack.
>distance reader for beacons.
>upgrades for the seaglide.
>more o2 upgrades beyond the two we have.
>nets for capturing wildlife, we already kind of have the grav ball tho.

Fuck do I have to do to find salt
>>
>>343106772
Look at the ground.

Or search for the fragments of the water filtration machine and build it in your base, it'll produce salt regularly.
>>
>>343106772
Dive. Ground in the Grassy Plateus area might as well be entirely made out of salt.

Docking station for the Seamoth. It can recharges it automatically and you can equip it with a modification station for it
>>

The moonpool is an underwater docking building for the seamoth. You can build a seamoth upgrading station there aswell.

How the fuck do I go to great depths? My seamoth can go down to 900m and my cyclops 1400m and yet I keep searching and I keep reaching the end of the world in different directions without ever finding a place where I can put my depth capacities to use.

Single map.
Pretty spooky in the open sea.
Worth it if you are into survival/base building/exploring. Stay away if you want anything else.
>>
>>343108090

Single map.

It has some spooky moments, you end up thinking the dark is going to hurt you.
>>
Finally after asking stupid questions in dozens of threads, here's my base.

Just completed some major renovations. I also finally built a fish tank. Next up is making a scanner room and finding the rest of the moonpool pieces.

So how do I get more options for base building? I've currently only got the default stuff and a desk+chair I found near the aurora, but I've seen a bunch of neat shit in screenshots, like beds and different shapes/sizes of rooms and have no clue as to how I'd begin to acquire those.

can you go inside the aurora?
>>
>Build a wing to base too close to gasopods

So how do I easily get rid of these damn manatees? There are two of these fucks making circles around the wing and I don't have a welder to repair it yet.
>>
>>343108408
Of course, if I had that picture that means I scanned it. Unless there is a way of scanning things from inside the sub that I don't know about.

You can measure from there if you're bothered but those guys are fucking massive, way bigger than 55m.

Yes I realize that, the problem is I can't find anything deeper than like 700. I keep reaching the end of the world without finding 1000 not to mention 1400 which would put my sub capacities to the test.

I know there are bigger monsters than the reaper, and I know you can go lower, I just can't fucking find it and I've been looking for so long.

Why the fuck has Subnautica gotten such a surge in threads and purchases lately?

For it's current price? It's worth it. You'll get more than enough hours out of it if you like survival and deep sea games. It gets a little stale around the 30 hour mark but the game is still being developed so that will supposedly change as they add more end game content

they haven't really given a face to anything

and the little world building storyline tid-bits you find just refer to "They"

Creatures like the Reaper Leviathan make absolutely no sense considering where they frequent in-game at the moment.

And from a biological stand point.

They're too outright combat focused, (Mantis like Mandables just kinda ruin them)

Considering their speed, they should be in the Abyss, or mountain area almost exclusively. Wide open areas to allow them to utilize their speed, and catch pray unawares. Also not enough prey that would suit them in the game either.

There are torpedoes. But ignoring the dev's faggy convictions, more guns would make no sense in this game. This isn't rooty tooty point and shooty wildlife exterminator 2016. You're supposed to avoid them and find a way to get the hell off the planet. Things stop being threatening when they're easily killed. Survival 101.

I really want deep underwater currents. It would open up for a speed upgrade to the cyclops and act as a barrier to prevent deep sea exploration before you have the proper equipment. This could also make the Dive reel somewhat useful.

Maybe even add a global conveyor belt like the Golf stream and let us ride it to get around faster.

Retarded question but how the fuck do I build power shit for a base? I don't have any power options with the builder.
>>
>>343125085

You find more advance blueprints if you go deeper, the next step for you would probably be the seamoth,

You will find wrecks that stand out because they are white or look different from the normal ones.
These are seamoth fragments, you can scan them and get the blueprint.

So just go deeper and you will find stuff.
>>

You need to find the blueprints.

>Repulsion field you can build around your base to keep away hostile monsters.
They're working on that along with having creatures attack your bases on occasion.

>suit upgrade that wards off hostile monsters, maybe consumes batteries.
A toxic burst using the Gasopod's spores would be cool, after you infuse yourself with their DNA so you don't get harmed yourself.

DNA infusing will allow for that.

>more variety of smaller friendly critters.
Agreed.

>better building placing system.
Agreed

>upgrading batteries to last longer.
Don't really need that with the rechargers.

>underwater currents that kinda act as a weather system?
This would be cool, riptides and currents that can pull you around, especially into/out of cave systems.

>ability to grab onto/pet creatures like the reefback.
Agreed.

you need a rebreather or else you can't breath for shit under 200 feet

you can dive down at any depth in your suit, would take ages without a sub though
>>
>>343126537
At 200m and below your oxygen runs out a bit faster until you upgrade to the rebreather. So no. You dive with 1 minute of oxygen in your tank because you're some kind of retarded asthmatic. It's just not a very realistic or even sensible game.
>>
>>343126537
At the moment there's no crushing pressure for the player, your oxygen just gets used up faster and faster unless you have the rebreather. They're going to implement you being squished if you're too deep laster.

Also, the deepest parts of the game and the most important story-wise will be accessible only to the Exosuit, which is why it has a bunch of weapons and tools on it. You're going to have to face at least one Sea Dragon Leviathan and whatever's keeping the Sea Emperor and any human survivors imprisoned at 1700 meters below.

Sandstone has silver in it. You're mostly hitting limestone. You have to go deeper or to different biomes to get good amounts of sandstone. Unfortunately you also can get gold out of it. I'm in your same situation. Shit ton of copper and gold, but no silver.

don't trust that anon. The world is static. You can't change the environment, and the world is always the same (devs said randomly generated worlds were too hard). NPC AI is terrible, basically boils down to just bee-lining straight for you. Only variation is enemy size. World feels dead. Sure it will entertain you for maybe 20 hours, but then you'll realize that you've basically beaten the game and uninstall.

I'm not even a fan of Minecraft, but it did it much, much better than this game.

You can fire guns underwater, and there are special firearms that are able to be used relatively efficiently underwater. Stop being a no guns retard.

If anything it would be like a laser or plasma gun. Sandy hook didn't involve any of those, I don't know why the cuck developer means that they can't be used either.

Considering you'd be crushed going several thousand meters above the ocean surface, I doubt your gun would fare well. There are no guns meant for the deep ocean because people generally don't go down there to hunt things.

Also the type of people who whine about no guns won't be happy unless AR-15's and AK's get in. Any futuristic weapons or concessions won't be enough. "FUCKING KEK DEVS THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS NOT GUN SHIT. FUCKING LIBERALS"

I hate the way they designed them because of how it makes the animator do their swimming animations, they're terrible. They're also still as hell in the abs/chest/head/neck/shoulders, I hope that changes at least. Maybe have them using their arms to move around by grabbing surfaces? I don't know.

Did they at one point mention not doing that massive sand trap monster thing because it was too hard to animate? I feel like if that was the case, my hopes should be set a lot lower.

I really hope the draw distance gets buffed up soon, at least the ability to turn it on higher even if it gimps preformance. Popins are killing me.

>>343134607
You can collect DNA samples from creatures and infuse them into either yourself or other creatures, and it bestows a permanent effect. One will let you swim deeper without being crushed, another will reduce your oxygen consumption, another swim faster. I think you can only do a total of 4 infusions, though, so you have to pick wisely.

>>343134765

Because only humans have that kind of front limb structure, right? Being alien doesn't necessarily mean it's also going to be incomprehensibly weird and unknown to anything we've ever seen before. Evolution works the same everywhere and some things are "universals", they'll always be things that creatures evolve: eyes, wings, limbs, etc.

Gordon Freeman was a scientist.
Isaac Clarke was an engineer.

They got forced into a situation where they had to defend themselves against hostile entities.

If I crashlanded on an alien planet with hostile wildlife, you'd bet your fucking ass I'd want to arm myself against any potential threats.

Even Star trek crew arm themselves when going down to alien planets, and they're explorative scientists.

I see what they are going for, but completely denying it is asinine.
>>
>>343135803

Nigga.

That's a fucking crocodile arm. You know why it has that? Because it's a fucking reptile, not a god damn deep-sea dweller. It lives in shallow water and is known to drag to its fat ass into land.

Deep sea monsters like the sea dragons have ZERO reason to have arm-like appendages instead of full on fins, because they don't crawl out to dry land.

The only way evolution is invovled in this is if the sea dragon was originally a land reptile that through some sort of fuckery became a deep sea predator and for some reason still has its janky ass reptile hands
