So now that we can all just emulate GBA games on our phones are something like a GBA SP still worth using in this age?
>>
I don't like using the virtual buttons on a touchscreen tho.
>>
>>343081001
Hell yeah. Get a flashcart.
>>
Yes because buttons
>>
>>343081001
I love mine but my fucking pokemon gold/crystal save battery broke and I cant play it anymore

No idea how to even fix it at this point
>>
>>343081721
You just replace the battery.

There's a million tutorials online, takes like 20 minutes.
>>
>>343081001
Don't listen to anyone that says buttons are a good reason, just buy a MOGA bluetooth controller
>>
>>343081486
Not OP, but where do I buy a flashcart from? I need my fix of Ninja Five-0 and River City Ransom.
Oh, and would a flashcart work on a Gameboy Player for GameCube?
>>
>>343081721
Old news, buddy. EVERYONE knows how to change batteries in old games, these days.
>>
>>343081001
Maybe to get in with normies who abandoned video games as a hobby because they felt like they were too old for them but they'll still get excited for an ancient console because "you're never too old for the classics"

Otherwise, no.

Nothing, I'm just projecting.

OOOoooh. Gotcha. Makes sense.

>ancient console
It came out in 2003. Is the Gamecube an "ancient console"?

Your underage is showing.
>>
>>343081001
I play GBA games on my DS Lite with flashcard. Because fuck you smartphones with your crappy battery and virtualpad.
>>
I'd say it's still relevant. Mainly for preservation, but also to play it on actual hardware. I still have my OG purple GBA and love it more than my imouto, but I play GBA games on my PSP.
Physical buttons are best and I'm waiting for Krikzz to make his GBA everdrive.
>>
>>343083008
With how quickly hardware constantly got better and better, 13 years ago feels like forever.

>le underage meme
Every time with you people.
>>
Can I put the backlight screen from the SP into the frontlight one?
>>
>>343083429
>13 years is a long time
Proof that those 13 years make up the majority of your life.
>>
>>343081721
Fuck, I remember when my copy of Red had that problem and I actually sent it back to Nintendo. Took about a month, but they send me a new copy.
>>
>>343082128
Look up EZ Flash IV. It should give you a few websites to pick from.

It should work on a GB Player, though I can't say for sure.
>>
>>343083541
>13 years isn't a long time
You're delusional. That's enough time for something to be considered classic.
>>
I love how it feels in my hands.
>>
>>343083756
You described it as ancient, not classic.
>>
>>343083704
I'm assuming you bought one from somewhere. Do you know which site you bought yours from?
>>
>>343083008
>2003
2001, dude. Where the fuck do you live? Timbuktu? Peru?
>>
>>343085129
Probably he was referring to SP, the superior GBA version.
>>
>>343085565
True, but, you know, backlit mod.

More like this
>oh hey anon that looks cool what is that
Might as well own up to phone gaming, besides I play my PSP in public
>>
>>343086610
>>oh hey anon that looks cool what is that
And everyone started clapping
>>
>>343081001

battery life is better
dont need accessories to get analog buttons

thats about it besides being ergonomic? however thats up to every individual
>>
Touch buttons are trash
>>
>>343087101
More reason why it's better to play on an actual GBA or DS (or at least a PSP or Android console):
- No phone calls when you play
- No crushing
- No emulation issues (not all GBA are emulated perfect at phones)
- No wasting your to plug in controller and unplug it
>>
fuck touch pad
GBA all the way
>>
>physical input
>obviously doesn't need to emulate; games are performant and bug-free as possible
>screen is designed for the games; no need for upscaling or pillarboxing

So, it depends on how much you value all this.
