I feel like I'm the only person in the world who's played this game. The first game is the series is actually surprisingly common in arcades in the US, especially ones with old outdated stuff (i.e. most of them). Even then, 90% of the people I've met who played the first game know the game but not what it's called. This is game 2.
I bought a used Dreamcast just to play this. There was even a re-release on XBLA for it, and still nobody played it. The biggest internet forum for this game has probably had no more than 20 users active at any one time and is dead as fuck, but somehow we got a spot in an IE Battlegrounds tournament at Super Arcade.

Man, from the screenshots I really hope this comes to fruition. As long as it's not a Spore/MN9 all over again, I'd be up for it. I always loved Interplay's style, even if it was kinda "ow the edge". It was good-cheesy.
Also I just remembered another one: Moonbase Commander. Sad I found this in a bargain bin in a dollar store, it was actually made by Infogrames and was a pretty cool spin on turn-based strategy.

This is a replay so it's not playing in real time of course, but the basic idea is that each player starts with a base, and you get some amount of "energy" each turn to use to catapult things out of that base. Usually buildings or weapons. If you threw a building, it was tied to another building by a rope, and blowing up a building earlier in the chain blew up all "children" of that building. There were resource pools you could put extractors on, bridges to throw ropes over rivers and lakes, offense buildings that couldn't spawn more buildings but threw attacks shit twice as far, anti-air turrets that shot down in-flight weapons and buildings, viruses that'd infect someone's system and temporarily shut down shit down the line from what you hit, crawling bombs that ignored anti-air/barriers and you had to fling bombs at to stop, EMP bombs that could be launched at ropes to do damage that way, scout balloons and pillars, etc. Surprisingly deep game, shame it never took off.

I fucking love this game. I played it a lot more than battlefield due to how much larger the player slot per server was. IIRC, the base game was up to 150, and the beta for the expansion went up to 250 for testing, but I don't think that was implemented in release (I didn't buy the expansion)
Some of the bugs were hilarious and very useful, like dropping a raft from a chopper from high altitude doesn't damage it, so you can insert behind enemy lines quickly, plant shit on every single one of their vehicles, and blow them all up when they're full.
I remember playing a match that went on for at least 15 hours. I took several breaks and the shit and had to quit becuase it was going on for so long.

Well when your playing Mario kart with that thing its basically the same as playing it regularly but the remotes are locked in place. Most of the reason I prefer it is because I like to get a green shell and when I throw it I hold the gun up like Im about to shoot and shout "BAM" when I launch the shell. Its like your really shooting it. The gun even has a break action, so if I have triple shells I'll pretend to reload it between each shell.

Thanks for reminding me. One of the funniest cheese strats in >>343095391 was that, when your vehicle died or you self-destructed, you'd eject out a couple hundred feet in the air and float down. You had a pea shooter rifle on-foot that only did significant damage to other on-foot players, but more importantly alt-fire switched to a sniper rifle. When you looked through the scope at people in vehicles, there'd be a glowing spot over their cockpit. Shoot spot = pilot insta-dies and you can jack their vehicle.
There's even a mission in the first one where you have to snipe a Russian scout out of his machine on patrol duty and go undercover to a Russian military briefing.They find your shit out and you gotta run for your life against like 5-10 vehicles surrounding you and several more littering the base. Fucking coolest mission I've ever played in a military-themed game.
