The game is about the entertainment industry. The MC and their chilhood friend are discovered by a talent agency and jump into the entertainment industry. Said agency is also a cover and they actually fight evil mirages while being paired with good mirages. Mirages feed on talent, so what they do to improve as artists gets reflected on the battle system as passive skills, new weapons, special attacks and other things.
The main story is about figthing the evil mirages while the side stories are about the members of the talent agency.

For me it's a matter of research vs ignorance. Everybody here knows at least the basics about how things are in Japan but the average consumer coudn't care less, so the localization has to take that into account if the game is meant to be sold to a international audience. No weakness but is vulnerable to magic electric, ice and force skills. Clear emotions and proper intonation is something the very vast majority of western VAs have proved time and time again that they're completely incapable of. If they can't act based on the scene and characters then they're shit, it's as easy as that.
