Capcom has always been trash at hurt/hitboxes. Look at Elena they patched her in USF4 and they still left her cr jab fucking busted. It still lacked a hurtbox on the end of it making the foot pretty much uncontestable which is why footsies with her even at top level play was walking back and forth fishing with a jab with fucking shoto cr mk range.

Learn the just frame tenko timing for each cancellable normal. Learn which normal you should use as anti air for each situation, aside from EX Ressenha she doesn't have a perfect AA. st.LP, st.HP and cr.HP are the ones you should look for.
Her charged v skill, st.MK, cr.MK, st.HP, st.HK, cr.HK are one of the best pokes in the game, abuse them if the distance is right. st.LK is gdlk too. If you learn to confirm st.HP into tenko you're on the right path.

Know that in neutral MK and HK are retardedly good.
Finish every block attacked string with Orochi to not kill yourself.
Use v-skill a lot. You want V trigger as soon as possible, and when you charge it, it's safe too.

Proper zoning can solve the anti air problem. But that's still the hardest thing she has to deal. Mago's last match against Daigo in CEO shows that really well on the latest rounds. I still think she should have 950 HP like she had on the 2nd beta to compensate for her bad AA's.
But she has waaay more strong points than weaknesses. Damage output high as fuck, CA hits hard, great normals, strong v skill and v trigger, she builds v meter quickly... If it wasn't for her i wouldn't have so much fun playing SFV online. I feel i can abuse people with so many different tools. Imo she could only have been better if she had a taunt where she would just quickly shout out an "OHOHO".

you just basically 'almost plink' qcf+k,p, i never really mess it up unless its laggy. also i find most character's can easily whiff their medium medium-style combo starters but karin can cr.mp s.mp from quite a range and cr.mp cr.mk for even more range. she has so much range you can cr.mp s.mp VT and then still be in range for another s.mp if you started close enough, like from a jump in. overall i just feel i whiff way less with karin which lets me consistently land BnB's with every chance i get.

Her BNB deals 246 damage and she can confirm it from a ch jab. Her CA does so much damage in a combo. CC combos does a lot. tekken has more movement mechanics, all the actor states like while rising, while running, sidestepping, face down feet towards, face up head towards, that changes your moves, and almost every direction+button is a different command. in SF you just have jumping, crouching, and standing - and a VERY limited amount of command normals (direction + button). a character like Dhalsim probably has the most command normals, thats just his thing.

There's cancels, but they're simple to figure out. Perhaps the only thing of note with that is that you can not only cancel some normals into specials, but you can also cancel some specials into Critical Art (super).
As far as movement, all you have is some command dashes (like Karin's, and Laura's), and some air moves (Mika's belly flop, Dhalsim's floating). Nothing too complicated, nor special cool techniques.

However, 8 frames as opposed to something more usual like 5, is minimal for the standard player. The average human reaction time is about 0.25 seconds, and 8 frames in total is about 0.13, 5 frames is 0.08. So the difference is like 50 ms. Most people can't tell the difference.
If you're used to fightans, though, you probably can. And it's more about feel than anything else.

There's execution errors even in Capcom tourneys and it happens to everyone but using less optimal combos because you're afraid you'll drop the better ones is exactly what's going to stop you from getting them down in the first place.

So, Ultra Street Fighter IV is on Steam for $7.50. I've never played any Street Fighter games, but I've been interested in it. I'll buy or pirate some of the earlier games later for the hell of it, but 7.50 is pretty cheap. How is the PC version? I know PC ports are sometimes pretty shit, which is why I'm asking, though I hear that SFV's is pretty good. Though 40 dollars isn't low enough for a game I don't know if I'll like or not, so that's why I'm thinking about USFIV.
