It was actually pretty satisfying becoming the Imperium of Man.
They do need a system to allow for the transition of ethics and government. Maybe something similar to EU4 and CK2's rebellion system.

How are you guys liking the new update?

I've found that because of the increase in range for weapons, I lose my science ships almost instantly once they enter a star with Crystals in it.
