This game is very special to me, played it during a really bad breakup and it helped me a ton.

No, they aren't. Catherine ran on Gamebryo, Persona 5 is using a homemade engine.
It had an ending, plus it was a test game to begin with. It'd be cool to see another character in a different position though.
