I'm pleasantly surprised. Battle system is excellent, presentation is nice, gameplay systems are addicting. Story is braindead magical girl anime cliches, but executed in a enjoyable way. Get on board /v/.

This opening scene caused me to put the game down until today.
I finished chapter 1 in about 6 hours, playing on hard. Gameplay is great, and the chapter 1 boss was nice and challenging. The story can honestly go fuck itself.

The one drawback is that you can only load games from the SD card, so you need an SD card big enough. 32 Gigs seems to be the sweet spot, as a lot of the really big-ticket WiiU games are between 10 and 15 gigs individually, but bigger is better, obviously.

The fact that this game took off away faster than Persona 4 was EXTREMELY pleasing. Plus the text messages are actually pretty cute and add extra personality to every character. I've only been playing for 5 hours but I'm really fucking enjoying it. After I'm done, maybe I'll mod my Wii u and play it with some of the other stuff intact.

Loadiine folders are how wiiu games are transfered. Yeah the scene requires WUDs which is like an iso for wiiu but you also need to go through a lot of effort to make the image useful to you.

Things were re-written and new jokes were put in their place, and other situations that weren't acceptable to a wider audience were re-written entirely.
This is what vidya has done for literally generations, as early as the NES when the dialogue, backgrounds, and even sprites were heavily edited to be more appealing. You're just noticing now that when they translate a script, it's usually easier to re-write it entirely and just try to get the jist together, because it's easier than it ever has been to see what the original script actually was.

Yeah, I know, I know, but it really is more complicated than "Nintendo Of America just wants to remove all the fun and boobies because they want soccer moms to buy their games"
It gets even MORE complicated when people bring in the "Original Artistic vision!" argument, because the game was actually designed from the ground up to accomodate for the localization changes made, meaning the "artistic vision" for this game included the possibility of changes for the sake of cultural differences.
And it's not just a case of "Well, Nintendo could just change anything they wanted to, just change around some files!", either. That kind of thing takes contientious effort on the part of the developer. If you wan to see a game where translation and localization never entered into the development process, look at Mother 3. That shit was never getting officially localized from the start, and the game's own internal programming relfects that. The unofficial translation had to create MASSIVE workarounds to make it happen.

That's an important distinction to make.
The difference is, Nintendo isn't making these changes for political reasons, even if some of the changes are politically charged in nature. They're changing aspects for MARKETING reasons.
They have a product, they're altering the product to better appeal to who they believe to be the target audience of the game.
If you want them to stop censoring this stuff, you have to show them that their assumptions about their target audience is wrong, and the only way to do that is to first show them that you do in fact belong to the game's target audience, and that involves actually buying the game.
If enough people prove to Nintendo that they belong to the game's target audience, and in addition show Nintendo exactly what they want by being vocal about their distain for censorship, they will re-think their approach, I guarantee it.
They have to see exactly where the demand lies and what the demand is asking for. That's what it boils down to. Everything else is white noise, or actively detracting.
