Honest question but why do people say this is fun?

I tried it and the gameplay is literally the same thing from start to end

>moving troops around the map
>waiting for research and buildings to complete

And that's literally it.

I know that every game can be summed up with some dumb formula like this, but my point is that it gets very old really fast, it's like a chess game that lasts 20 hours, am I doing something wrong?
>>
>>342892268
Yes. These games are literally simplified strategic "chess" games. You either like it or you don't.
It's one of the reasons RTS is dead if not dying genre, and no, DOTA 2 is not an RTS.

>>
>>342892621
Well isn't that grand. I haven't bought anything on steam in a really long time. When'd they start doing that?
>>
>>342892797
The game has a minimum of 1.8 dual core and 2GB of ram. If you can't run that then you probably shouldn't be playing PC games.
>>
>>342892959
Within the past few months
>>
>>342892992
2GB of ram I do have, as for the dual core... I have no idea what that is but I probably don't have it. Intel chipset family graphic card, x32 system (is that how you call it?)

Yeah, it's a very miserable laptop, but it's still functional enough for older games or less-demanding ones and some emulation. It's incredible how many new games I find playable despite my many shortcomings. It's part of the reason I still can't find myself forced to buy a current gen console

Sorry for the blog

they're making cultural advancements/civ advancements a seperate tree than technology. just look at the current tech tree in 5 and note how many of them are actually technologies
>>
>>342908047
>>districts basically replace worked tiles
Worked tiles still exist.
>>you don't build roads any more, they're built automatically
They're built automatically by merchants you produce. You can build manual roads later in the game with a military engineer.
>>workers have 3 uses, which probably means you don't need them for much
They made them have charges because they would do nothing late-game but sit around. They also said they removed because on higher difficulties, players would just steal workers from City-States.
>>smaller tech tree than Civ 5 (they said this)
Because there's a new culture tree now. They moved """"techs"""" like Chivalry and Archeology to that tree.
>>nothing about religion revealed
They said they have a big announcement for religion in the coming weeks. Ed also noted that if you have a pantheon and no religion, your pantheon will no longer be swept away by other religions.
>>
>>342908468
Workers also have charges because they want to discourage automation
>>
>>342908047

>districts basically replace worked tiles
No, there are 12 confirmed districts so far and cities still work a 3x3 hex radius, wrong.

>you don't build roads any more, they're built automatically
By trade routes early, as logically happened historically, mid-late game military engineers build roads.

>workers have 3 uses, which probably means you don't need them for much
All tile improvements and some UI's (great wall)

>smaller tech tree than Civ 5 (they said this)
Civics tree + Tech tree is confirmed for combined more 'techs and civis' than civ 5 techs.

>nothing about religion revealed
Religion victory, and in base game
