I want to get started playing Persona games. What's the best way to do so? I read that 3 onward is what I want, tried 1 a while back and as much as I love halls I didn't really get into it.

Start with Persona 3 FES and continue with Persona 4(the golden version if you have a vita) after that you can try persona 1 and 2 and see if you like it.By the time you finished all that Persona 5 will already be released

if you go straight from 3-4 you'll get bored. The 2 duology is good but exhausting sometimes, so you want a break imbetween them.
Don't listen to idiots saying 2's gameplay is bad. If you played RPG's during the PSX era you'll love it.

That is exactly what makes it bad
Grinding for cards is the worst thing, especially after a while everything has higher levels than you, so making pacts with demons and getting blank cards is impossible unless you grind, but why would you bother with that?
At least the game is so piss easy that you can clear the whole game with zio+tackle and you don't need to get other personas, but that doesn't make it any better
