No

I don't agree with his reasons but the game is better because it doesn't have guns
>>342848986
>Why does this game make my computer run so hot? my graphics card is louder than when I play warhammer total war.
Probably because the devs initially added terraforming but since that wasn't working out so well they took it out, but the terrain itself can still be modified, so it takes longer to charge and there's a load of pop-ups. Probably will be fixed in the next update.
>Does gold and silver ONLY spawn in dangerous areas

protip: reapers are found in:
1.Near the crashed ship, there's only like 1-2 here and they're pretty easy to avoid so don't worry too much about them, just keep your distance
2.The underwater mountains, which you'll have to go to if you want to make a Cyclops (big submarine) or if you want magnetite which isn't used for very much, the island there has nothing unique if I recall correctly
3.The dunes, which are too deep to care about and don't really have anything

>>342852519

oculus comes with an xbone controller and headtracking thing, the only thing Vive seems to do different is the roomscale thing which requires more room than I have I think
>>342852731
Wow. A $40 controller and something the Vive has as well.
Is this game actually good or will I regret spending my $11 on it instead of eating lunch out today?
>>342853097
>A $40 controller and something the Vive has as well.
Yes? That's the point? It's very similar but the Vive costs more, I'm asking why exactly
I don't have an omnidirectional treadmill so I'm not sure why I should care
>>342853250
It really nail the change of atmosphere you get from the starting area to the deeper biomes.
>>342852236
Thanks, still mucking about in the shallows right now
>>342851364
oculus removed all their drm a week ago .
revive is just converting oculus driver commands to openvr, no drm there
>>342853305
Cause the Vive comes bundled with the controllers at $800.
Oculus is $600 but says the release price for their controllers will be $150-200. So for the same things Oculus will be $750-800.
>>342853305
better, more accurate tracking solution, a pass through camera letting you see without having to take off the headset, you can pair your phone with the vive so you can answer calls, and do them, perfect steam integration, quite awesome to be honest vr controllers, and you do not need a whole room for this, there are options for seated, standing and roomscale. the place i have dedicated for mine is as small as 1.9x2.8 meters, havent even changed anything in my room.
>>342846109
Does this game have any definite goal you're working towards or is it just random survival?
>>342854407
Story is still being developed so right now it's purely survival.

>>342854631
No, how do I get power?
>>342851770
Nigger it kills
>>342854361
the vive tracking solution is also less cpu heavy, because it does not rely on visual blob tracking with a camera like the oculus, requiring image recognition and analyzing software to read a constellation of ir leds, the vive is using photodiodes ,time of flight and triangulation calculations which can be done on a napkin
>>342854549
No power, no oxygen.
Get some solar panel or thermal reactor, don't fall for the bioreactor meme.
>>342854669
Solar panels or power plants.

unsafe depth = yellow - you will lose oxygen twice as fast
crush depth = red - you will lose oxygen three times as fast
Other than that, you'll be ok.
>>342854654
>>342854730
>>342854717
I need to find some blueprints to build them or something, right? I don't have the option to build them (yet?).
>>342854784
you need to build a pressure compensator and upgrade it to mk3. gives you 900 meter crush depth
>>342854813
Sounds worth a buy then thanks.
>>342854784
You can craft armor upgrades for it.
>>342854784
There's no pressure for the player yet. But to dive deeper with a sub you need upgrades. Build a moonpool, a control panel (or whatever it's called) and a modification station.
How frequently does the game update? I don't trust early access games.
>>342855117
almost daily
There's a hardcore mode that you can enable by typing "nitrogen" into the console
I think it has something to do with decompression sickness
>>342855117
At least once a month, and they add a bunch of new stuff each time
They also have experimental updates which release on a daily to weekly basis
>>342854895
Solar panel blueprints should be pretty easy to find at a relatively shallow depth so yeah.
>>342854895
Correct.
Safe shallows (starting area) will have plenty of blueprints for solar panels though.
I think bioreactor is found in kelp forest, but, it's a shitty way to power your base that needs fuel often.
It works day or night though and if you get an aquarium you can burn fish for power too. And stalkers (which are REALLY common) provide 500 power each. As long as you have 2 stalkers in a large aquarium, they will breed and you can take any 'extras' for fuel for your bioreactor.
You should be able to find stalker eggs very easily early on.
Personally though I prefer thermal power.
>>342855117
They push out hotfixes and smaller updates sometimes several times a day
>>342849840
Subnautica does look like that image.

>>342846406
Am I the only one who sees an orc?
>>342855904
>Not a creature
Then what, a rock formation?
>>342856253
Yep. The "eyes" are big floaters, which are creatures, but the rest is just rocks.
In the future they're going to implement creatures attacking your base(s) and defense systems for the bases. I hope that a lot of it depends on the size of the base, its location, and what power source you use. We already know that the Reaper Leviathan is attracted to sources of radiation, so using the Nuclear Core may cause one to arrive and attack, and since you have to deal with depleted Uranium Rods that are radioactive getting rid of them will be a concern.
This guy is also going to still be in without terraforming, they could make him the primary hazard for the Safe Shallows and other shallow areas, just saunters up and starts punching your base to scrap.
>>342856761
Just dump the depleted uranium rods in the abyss mate. What could possibly go wrong.
Guys how do I upgrade my sea moth? I was feeling brave with my new seamoth and went towards the wreck of the big ass ship. Fuck me in the ass I need torpedos or some shit what the fuck is that snake thing goddamnit.
Should I get this or The Long Dark? Kinda want a survival game
>>342857417
both are pretty good, but I like that Subnautica is a bit more unique than the hundred "survive in a forest" games
its more about exploring than surviving anyways
>>342857417
Long Dark if you want a brutal struggle to survive
Subnautica if you want a diving game with some scary enemies
>>342857715
how much content does Subnautica have?
I really hope they work on this guy and put him in at some point. A giant arthropod thing that lurks in a burrow and erupts out to attack would be cool and scary for environs like the Dunes, Mountains, Grassy Plateau, and other shallow-to-medium depth open areas, having them at various sizes including one gigantic version in the deepest area it can spawn in.
>>342857403
Once you build the moonpool you can build a Seamoth Modification Station inside it, it has the upgrades as well as options to name and color the Seamoth.
>>342857417
The Long Dark is a survival game, Subnautica is far less dire and focuses on building and exploring for fun as opposed to Long Dark which is exploring to not die.
>>342858090
Is there a limit for how much you can build?
>>342857906
Would be cool
Maybe smaller ones on the grassy plains and Giants on the deepest dunes
>>342858219
I haven't gotten much into building in Subnautica but in The Long Dark you can just craft basic tools and cook stuff.
>>342857827
It seems like a good amount but I've only just started playing a few days ago
The world is really dense and there's lots to explore
What I'm hoping for now is stuff to make bases more in depth and more subs/vehicles
>>342858047
You just gave me a great idea, playing the interstellar soundtrack with this game would be pretty rad
>>342846543
Dude's an idiot but his game is still good.
Can you build something like Rapture in this game?
im pretty skeptic to early access but subnautica looks pretty cool, is it worth 12 yuros with its current content or is it just a buggy shitfest for now?
>tfw playing this at night with headphones on for that stereo sound
>hearing a roar out in the dark distance
>>342858818
Yes. And releases have been very stable.
>>342858438
That would work. One's twice the size of your character in the Grassy Plateau, getting larger until it's the giant one that's in the files down in the depths of the Dunes. And it can be the one thign that can take on and kill a Reaper Leviathan.
>swim/Seamoth through Dunes
>get attacked by Reaper
>lead it over the large pit in the seafloor
>Sandworm erupts out, grabs the Reaper, and drags it in
>>342858786
You mean a giant city under water?
If you want.
If you have the resources.
>>342858818
I'd say so, considering how hard the euro is crashing right now.

>>342858818
well.. it has less bugs and is more polished than most full releases. but the performance is still wonky until they optimize it before release.
>>342850247
Why the hell does this guy care so much and why is he trying to push his agenda with such ferocity.
Just give people what they fucking want.
>>342859240
well, its not exactly demanding, you just cant squeeze more performance out of it even on a beefy machine. its just not optimized. it runs well as long you are taking it slow, pop ins and short freezes when moving to fast through zones is whats bothering most people

Blueprints are those locker things you see everywhere
You need a scanner to scan them
Each blueprint needs 2-5 scans to complete but there are plenty of lockers around.
Very simple thing people tend not to mention to people starting out.
Not even the game gives you any indication what they are or how you interact with them.

Hmmm, I'm tempted after the blurb on steam says its for solo players, where most survival sims are designed for multiplayer via local host or private host.I have no friends, so ARK sucked for me

I haven't played many survival games, is this a good one as any to start. Only have enough money to get this and maybe one more game this sale.
>>342867898
Not really. The whole fun of this kind of games comes from figuring stuff out. If you're being handheld throughout them that aspect is gone.
I never found myself in trouble except near the end, when I just couldn't figure out where to find some fragments, and when I was looking for Alum oxide because I was expecting it to be way deeper than where it actually is.
how do you fend off attackers? it takes like 10 knife stabs and a good 30 seconds to kill a stalker. Is there a submarine i can research? what happens when you hatch an egg? does it follow yo uaround?
>>342868209
>Is it worth it yet?
around 20/25 hours of content and exploration more or less. More if you have autism and like base building.
>How long until it's out of Early Access?

>>342868869
run nigger that how you survive
>>342866985
Sort of. You'll be able to use various creatures' DNA to be able to use less oxygen, survive deeper pressure, and other things.Which may be how the previous crashees turned into Warpers, meaning you're going to do the same to yourself
>>342869109Deepest Lore
>>342850267
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that
So what should I be doing out the gate?
Making O2 tank and flippers and shit or get to stock piling food or just fast tech to sea moth?
>>342870231
Make at least 1 air tank for more oxygen and flippers for much faster movement, it'll take about three minutes. After that you can pretty much do whatever.
>>342867018
Run away, use a stasis rifle or propulsion cannon, knife it to death
>>342846543
This being the reason for the lack of weapons is pretty weak.
That being said I have no issue with the lack of weaponry, and actually find it somewhat refreshing to not have them.
Having gun greatly changes the dynamic. Now seeing a hostile fish means you open fire until it's dead. Enemies are walls you knock down to get through.
It's a vastly different feeling to being unable to murder everything that inconveniences you.
I like the lack of firearms, but not the reason for it.
>>342870231
First thing you should do is build a base.
Then find the Sea Moth.
Then go to the island for infinite food (Hint: Collect Lantern Fruit and plant it in your base)
>>342867018
Run away.
Besides the Reaper Leviathan, all hostile entities give up chasing you if you run away for long enough.
As for the Reaper, you should use the sound queues to avoid encountering them in the first place. Otherwise, Stasis Gun works well to stop them.
>>342870597
I kinda skipped the island part, I made triple aquarim thing and filled it with fish. Supplies me with infinite food sort of. Where do I go get cyclops parts?
>>342870776
Mushroom Forest and Floating Underwater Island biomes contain all the parts for Cyclops.
The Lantern Fruit is better than the aquarium because it provides water and food, and you don't need to run around catching things (or make sure you don't take all of a certain species)
The drawback is that it takes 4 slots, so it's not any good for traveling. It's use is to fill food/water each time you return to base.
How deep can you go in just a suit?
I can't seem to find the Seamoth parts
>>342871154
As deep as you want, but you start consuming double and triple oxygen at certain depths unless you have a rebreather
The Seamoth parts are in the grassy plains, the area with the red grass
>hear graceful whale sounds
>see enormous figure faintly in the distance
>swim over
>big mushroom monster
>its upside down spinning in circles
>>342870513
>I like the lack of firearms, but not the reason for it.
This. He should have just said it's his game and he doesn't want guns, so fuck off. Instead, he went on a totally unnecessary political rant.
>>342846109
This game would benefit from some sort of harpoon gun or something
Maybe some sort of exosuit so you don't need to worry about air when deep down
Just imagining fighting Sea Emperor to death makes me hard
>>342850247
>>342846543
I'm absolutely against the devs politics, but it's very clear that this isn't really about politics, but their only misstep was trying to lay out their biases.
Honestly, I think adding a gun to this game would be extremely detrimental. Giving any kind of ranged attack to the PC, outside of Seamoth torpedoes, would make all the exploration a lot less frightening, and every encounter with a predator trivial. The devs would have to spend time trying to flush out this new FPS system so it didn't feel like you were clicking on things to make them dead, but again, even it had the most compelling FPS mechanics conceived, it still wouldn't fit in with the rest of the game.
Besides, who needs courage when you have a gun?
>>342872187
Exosuit is in the works.
It actually works somewhat if you use the Experimental build and spawn it with console commands.
I don't believe it can dock yet, but you can walk around in it.
My fuck all I want right now is for the icons to be static and not blinking. STOP.
>>342871368
it's about to lay eggs
>>342861095
These are all fine and dandy but the repetitive reptilian look on the reaper and the above is getting a little dull.
I hope they add more exotic and bizarre looking giant creatures, like the reefback, but are agressive.
>>342851159
A couple of the hippie nogunz fags got pissy when they got overridden and the torpedoes added in.
I don't think guns would solve the problem, but I definitely think torpedoes and landmines should be things so you can fuck up Reapers. Right now, the only way to kill them is stasis and 1.5x diamond knives.
And they respawn now, because some devs thought that the game was better when fish respawned.
>>342870513
Id like some sort of makeshift weapon, like using a laser cutter or whatever, or even making a spear you can use to keep things at bay away from you (but not snipe them down) maybe even just poisoning your knife
>>342872971
>even making a spear you can use to keep things at bay away from you
Like the propulsion rifle, which is already in the game, fag?
Which is the better weapon, the stasis gun or the repulsor or whatever its called?
My biggest gripe with this game is the lack of any sort of... system? I'm not sure how to put it. Power management is really basic and straightforward, there's no real production chains you have to string together, no computer systems for efficiency or management, no oxygen
Do you build your base right under the emergency pod?
>>342873392
Only if you're a casual who can't handle a real base in a real biome
If you have your main base in the shallows you need to leave
>>342873235
yeah, game is super one dimensional so far with little to no actual challenge, it has progression but no challenge
How do I get more than 75 o2?
>>342873230
Stasis locks them in place for like 20 seconds, repulsion canon just knocks them back.
Stasis runs out f battery much quicker though.
>>342873392
I build my base in the ribs of a skyscraper-sized carcass in pitch darkness.
Shallow casual.
>>342873574
Make oxygen tank at the fabricator
>>342873392
That's where I built my first one because it made sense, since I had all my resources over there.
Later on I started building another one somewhere else but I didn't see the point: the only inconvenience of a base in the spawn area is that it's not really Cyclops-accessible, but otherwise it's pretty much smack in the centre of the map, perfect for going anywhere.
I have never replayed the game after the first time, but I think that if I did, I'd make the base in the red grass area next to the safe shallows: there's a lot more room there and it's still fairly central.
>>342873574
Build a workbench, you can upgrade your tanks from there
>>342873392
I always build mine on the red grass area, lot of place, not so dangerous and high enough to get energy from solar panels, pretty good for a starting base I think.

>>342876059
Interesting, I usually put windows on one side (overlooking a cliff) of my multipurpose rooms and reinforce the other. Only remember getting +7 from them though.
>>342876245
Always.
Where's a good location deep down to build a base? My cyclops can go down 900m, and I have the thermal generator. I just can't seem to find any lava for thermal or deep areas that are interesting to build my new life in.
Where do you get more signals? I've been to the aurora and opened all the boxes there and all I got was a few cave signals.
>>342876681
just keep trying to find signals to lead you to the thermal vent areas? Or just look at a map
>>342876712
There's the ones in the crates ON the Aurora, then there's some crates next to the Aurora that have some. The Floating Island with the Observatories has a couple crates that might have a signal too.
Other than them, I don't know.
So what's the exosuit gonna be used for? Exploring the Lost River and Lava Zones?
>this guy gets added
>yfw he sneaks up on you from the abyss
I've seen this around for a while but I've never actually looked at it much.
It actually looks pretty fun.
I see there's a bunch of spoopy shit but the main part of the game is just collecting and building shit right?
Do you lose shit if you die, or just like the stuff you have on you?
And here I thought that the shallows were safe
>>342877281
>just like the stuff you have on you
this
you basically drop whatever you collected after you dived outside your base of choice
which can be annoying in the case of rare materials and shit, but is not really punishing
>>342877342
Reefbacks are completely harmless

>>342873392

>>342877789

>>342872756
>some devs thought that the game was better when fish respawned.
it is
Protip: make small bases in areas further away from the shallows as littke pitstops to replenish your oxygen, so you dont have to swim to the surface every minute
>>342878172
Bring both the rebreather and the radiation helmet
Rebreather is generally more useful but there's plenty to do in radiated areas and it's inconvenient to get damaged by it while exploring.
What archive does /v/ use now a day? Fireden search function is dead
>>342878426
Or just build a sub
>>342878482
So I'd also have to bring the radiation suit, I'm using the suit that gives you water atm
>>342877835
Toe to toe man loses against almost every thing, that's why we have tools.
When are they going to nerf crashers.
As it is, they are literallly the most dangerous enemies. Ive even been oneshot by them at full health
>>342878937
Well, if you're using that, then you'll just have to prepare before heading out and know where you're going.
The rebreather is essential for deep exploration unless you want to hop into the Seamoth every five seconds.
>>342866020

You can toggle between metric and imperial in the options. Odds are the persons witched it to imperial. I don't think I've ever seen the game reach above 30 Fahrenheit outdoors.
Make sure that he wasn't referring to the "feels like" temperature. That's the ambient temperature modified by the wind speed, and then the warmth from your clothes added in.
ive been thinking about picking this up, this is like ocean survival right? how complete is it since it's in early access

Oh, and 32 degrees Fahrenheit is the cut off. As long as you're at that temperature or above (feels like temp) you're fine and not losing any status.

Alternatively just build your moonpool first, then connect it by starting from it to the main base. But it's probably a problem of wrong type of corridor
>>342883787
Outer Wilds only takes about 20 minutes to completely explore and finish though.
You basically just fly around and explore a weird as hell solar system. You can exit your spacecraft and walk around on the planets.
One planet is in the process of being crushed by a black hole, one is a binary planet system with a link between the planets, one is a large water world with big jellyfish things, and one is a dark "brush" planet with major spooks, plus more.
Oh, and you only have a few minutes to explore until the sun goes supernova and resets everything (except your exploration data log).
I ventured past the shallows for the first time and stumbled across this island. I got three Diamonds from it, among other things.
>>342884309

Okay, so the devs are libshits. So what?
The origins of Subnautica's mechanics of focusing on exploration rather than murdering everything that is remotely threatening are irrelevant to the fact that the game is actually frightening because you can't defend yourself.
This game would be worse off if you could just kill Reaper Leviathans with a super torpedo.

Does stuff respawn? I have my base near the shallows and im running out of quartz
>>342887948
Of course you can go in bases.
You build them too.
>>342889304
Quartz does respawn. You simply have to explore further.
Look near caves and volcanoes. There's a lot of quartz there.
And really, you should be moving away from the shallows as soon as possible. The basic resources there are only good enough for the first five minutes, and after that you need a rad suit double quick.

>>342858782
What's stupid about this? There's a million shooters already and this makes the game more interesting.
>>342890487
That really depends on what you want.
Personally, I prefer to have good access to air when I'm building a base, and I'd prefer not to have to deal with anything overly dangerous I can't just tell to fuck off with my knife.
So my pick is either a certain spot near a cave at a valley in the grassy plateau. I don't have any pictures of it, but it's near the shallows and a kelp forest and leads to the Mushroom caves. Sometimes there are some blood leeches nearby, but they're easily dispatched. That location has good access to the cave, good access to air whether you swim to the surface or want to invest in a small air tube system, and is unlikely to be near any sand sharks or bone sharks. Maybe a mesmer near the cave, but they don't swim far away from it in my experience, and honestly really don't bother me unless I deliberately want to get myself hypnotized.
Another good base location, and this one just a more general suggestion, would be any kelp forest near a drop off to a lower biome. Kelp forests have good food supplies and stalkers are honestly bro tier in my opinion.
Some people like to be fancy and build down near the Mushroom Forest, but honestly that is difficult to do unless you want to pop in and out of the seamoth every few minutes, or want to rush for the moonpool research early on. Deep base locations are good for a second base, but your first needs to be practical and not difficult to construct or access.
>>342889830
MP, if it ever happens, will be post-release and probably a separate thing, kinda like Don't Starve Together.
best seamoth upgrades?
>>342874561
>build base at red grass
>quit, reload save later
>Reefbacks disappeared
>sand sharks too for a distance
I need to remember to file a feedback about this shit, I think it killed all the stalkers near my first run's base too.
>>342889830
I had a six hour stream that I posted the cached youtube link in a thread last night, but found it was glitched. I had another six hour stream that I post in the thread too, when I found the first was broken.

Do you keep your inventory? I'm scared of everything only for this reason.
Anyone made Sealab yet?
>>342891535
Ah okay fair enough, i'll probably still buy him the game. Cheers anon
>>342891893
Nyet.
Will i enjoy it if i don't really like survival games?
Water spooks seem really cool, but i'm not sure i want another ea survival shit
>>342892447
There is creative mode where you can just swim around and explore and build shit.
>>342892447
Survival is optional, there's a mode where all you need to worry about is health and O2
>>342892447
It's more of an exploration game than a survival game.
The point is not to build a fuckhuge castle and pretend to be a king, like Minecraft.
The point is to explore and get pieces of the story.
Subnautica general when? It seems popular enough to be able to sustain one.
So basicly everything works fine for me except that making a new save file takes about 10 minutes and loading a save takes 10 minutes as well.
I've tried reinstalling and changing the hard drive but it's no use.
Google didn't help me. What do?
Post seamoths

I didn't know there is a story in this game desu
I might try it then, thanks
>>342893645
Now, hold on.
It IS early access, and the story right now is sorta bare bones.
So, if you want the story, wait.
>>342893645
There is sorta at this point. They're still implementing it in game. But plenty of logs and stuff you can recover that give background and lore stuff.
>>342883213
Synthetic doesn't mean vegan you dingdong, it could mean that you're not used to eating meat that doesn't grow on your genetically superior hamburger tree since technology has surpassed the need for dirty farmers.
Imagine eating nothing but perfect filet mignon that is the pinnacle of human and animal engineering and then being forced to eat some shitty fish you caught. You'd make a comment too.

so what exactly is the "other way around" when dealing with a 400 foot long sea monster?
>>342894929
It's a big ocean
>>342856761
Besides the knife and the torpedo, is there ANY other way to kill stuff? Because if not, stuff just randomly appearing and attacking your base and you can do jackshit to it is just completely anti-fun.
>>342894929
all the way around
Literally what is the purpose of the thermoblade
>>342895076
propulsion cannon, laser cutter, attatching floaters to the creature
ramming it with a seamoth
a bigger creature
>>342895312
I think it lets you cut those blood oil stalk things
they're in a ravine about 1300m from the back of the aurora
How much glass is too much glass? The structure with the windows to the right will be fully glass as it's a containment tank for big creatures. The middle building is an office/work area and it'll have some windows, and the two to the left will have windows as that's a farm/fish area.
>>342895312
it automatically cooks fish that you cut
>>342895354
Fair, but early game when you don't have any of that stuff, guess you're just shit out of luck?

ideally you dont build into the area that will bring random enemies to your base
and from what I'm seeing enemies dont respawn fast, so killing them initially with a bit of trouble could give you the time needed

Why do people make those giant ass tubes going up.
What are they connected to?
>>342896879
Other parts of bases, sometimes observatories above the surface.
>>342896879
surface probably
I'd hate to think what happens if it's all counted as one ladder though within it, because then you get possible shit like going from 1000m to 0m instantly
last I heard rising up from the depths fast enough fucks your shit up so that should fuck you up hardcore
>>342897035
Do you instant travel up and down them?
Is there a more efficient way to get more oxygen?
I have like 195 atm but carrying around like 4 tanks really takes up a lot of inventory space. Sorry for the noob question just started playing about 2 hours ago.
I've got the perfect spawn with the mushroom biome, 3 kelp forests, 4 red grass, 1 thermal vent, that purple anemone biome, and this weird biome where these bluish ball things are connected to 4 strands that ancor them to the ground absolutely overflowing with uranium and has no hostile sea life because its only at around 100-200 meters and despite all this I CAN'T FUCKING GET STALKER TEETH GOD DAMN I HAVE SLAMMED THEM INTO WALLS, STABBED THEM IN THE FACE AND FOLLOWED THEM FOR HALF AN HOUR AND SPENT 2 HOURS WITH 500 OXYGEN GRID SEARCHING THE KELP BIOMES. SEND HELP
>>342897178
Yes, they haven't got the ladder animations yet.
>>342897303
seamoth gives oxygen, really not much reason to leave it unless you need to grab shit.
>>342895312
It will cut material that cannot be cut without a heated blade soon.
>>342897145
Well the inside of them would be pressurized the same. But it'd probably explode from such high pressure on the bottom and such low pressure on top.
>>342897389
dude imagine if you had a ladder from 5000m somehow and had a climbing animation all the way to the surface
play some training montage music with all sorts of nasty critters outside the windows (hopefully)
>>342897394
I figured that. Haven't gotten a sub yet, don't even know how. Been doing this blind and haven't quite figured that out yet.
How do you plant the Lantern fruits? I've got the farm thing to put them in. Is it because they're too old it's not working?
>>342897356
Give them scrap metal or feed them fish. If you feed them they become docile and tame for a period.
Question. When you die, do you keep your inventory? If you don't, can you find the things floating where you died?
Is this game worth it? Is there a story to pursue? Is there a point?
>>342846543
>ONE WHO COHORTS WITH ANIMALS
>>342897745
You keep what was in your inventory when you last left a base. Sometimes you keep some items you have collected since, but most of the time you lose it all. There is no way to retrieve the lost items.
>>342897356
Also you can find the teeth near their eggs and nests. A nest is a pile of scrap metal and where they usually interact with the sea floor.
>>342897621
I'll give that a try.
>>342897356
Oh and there's few things that bother me, if you build a room that intersects with the water surface it will fill the room to that level with water that doesn't do anything but ruin the aesthetics. Beacons take up to much inventory space and I wasted so much time just to transport them all to mark various areas. Next up is I want to breed these creatures to fight for me or be able to harvest resources from them and they have a sort of rpg progression system and you can dye them different colors. Also they need a large mutli-purpose room both square and circular at least the size of the moonpool and I want to be able to build a giant containment/pen that is the size of the moonpool but can be stacked like the other containment. I was thinking they could either house multiple or better yet "giant" versions of the current generators that are much more efficient but all require the rarest of resources and are incredibly expensive to make. I'd also like a bigger sub and add in extreme depths where you require this monstrosity and an exosuit along with a new seamoth type that goes in it where its designed for operating at extreme depths. I want it to be like a giant mothership sub and have biomes thousands of meters down.
>>342898353
You know about the Cyclops, right?
>>342898645
Yes, its way too puny. I want a bigger one.
>>342894460

>>342899173
Cool thanks. Where do I get the interior growbed? I just have the outdoor one.
Hoping someone might be able to help me out a little. I'm doing a blind play of this game so I am not familiar with all the biomes yet. I built a base in a comfy little cave under the mushroom trees and I am wondering if anyone can tell me a reliable source of scrap/titanium without having to go back up 100 meters to find it.
>>342899874
One of the observatories on the Floating island and it may be in a wreck. The island is easier to find though. One of the other observatories on that floating island also has a couple pots you can scan and place inside a base to plant fruits and vegetables.
>>342900137
And does it matter if the fruits rotten or old when you plant them?
>>342899972
You will ultimately have to explore to find more titanium. Break outcrops or collect scrap from the exploded Aurora ship.
>>342900254
Doesn't matter at all.
They'll usually rot before you can get back to your base.
>>342875707
Giant swimming penis monster? Jesus christ nature.
>>342899540
Nah, it's literally like a checkpoint system that reverts to you when you were last in your base.
>>342900268
I mean I have a few hanging lockers full of it in my small base in the shallows, I was just hoping there might be some down here with me. I break all the rocks I see, but most of what I get is gold that I have far too much of now.
>>342900389
Allright cool. This gives me some time to explore the island.
>>342900669
Some biomes only have the kind of outcrops that have gold/silver/Diamond/Uraninite/etc.
Does the one lantern tree on the island regrow? I tried getting seeds from it by cutting it but it just dissapeared?
>>342900973
Those sand sharks near the middle look they're laughing.
>>342900973
Guess I will just have to make a core recharge station and make the trips then. On another note, how do I get stalker teeth? I have one but I am honestly not sure how I got it...
>>342901280
dude just grab the fruit, didn't school teach you that the fruit of a plant has seeds in it?
>>342901387
Stalkers grab scrap and carry it back to their 'nest' area. When carrying the scrap, they'll bite on it to break a tooth out of their jaw.
>>342901302
>>342901387
They can be found on the bottom where stalkers live.
>>342901765
Barely tried.
I'm assuming if a big monster attacks you and you're on your own you're fucked.
If you go out in a sub or something, does it just keep on attacking the sub until it dies?
Daily reminder if you don't build your sea base below 400 meters YOU AIN'T A REAL SCIENTIST
>>342902260
Good enough.
>>342902313
I have been able to fully scan every big monster I have come across so far. It's mostly about juking at the right time so you don't get eaten.A Reaper Leviathan grabbed my ship from behind and started swimming away with me. I figured the ship was fucked so I bailed. As soon as I got out he let the seamoth go.
>>342902770
So it'll eat the ship and then eat you, probably?
>>342902364
My nigga.
Currently building at 400m but I have to watch out for the electric motherfucker as he seems to love my Cyclops.
Can I turn ingots back into separate titanium? I have a ton right now just taking up space but I don't want to convert it if I don't have to and can't get it back
>>342902943
If you leave the ship it will drop it and come after you. If you stay in the ship it keeps chomping until the ship dies. When I got out I had enough time to zap mine with the welder for a few seconds before it could turn around. I just got in a left. Never looked back.
>>342885214
>>342903089
Nope. One way only.
>>342903089
I've requested a feature to revert titanium ingots back to uncompressed titanium, but no, you cannot yet.
So can you like... over fish an area? I used to see peepers and airsacks constantly around my base and pod and now there's just nothing. Night or day.
>>342903770
Yeah, they are meant to respawn, but you want to put a couple of each in aquariums in bases so they breed.
>>342903770
I've heard they updated it so they come back but it takes a long time. If you need food you can try building a fish tank alien containment structure in your base.
>>342903872
>>342903976
Yeah I have that in my new base. Spade fish in one, airsacks in the other. Was just wondering if anyone else noticed it, or if it was a bug.
How the fuck do I get stalker teeth? I tried feeding them fish like mentioned earlier in the thread but it's not working.
