I've got $10 to blow, but not exactly sure what to buy. I've been considering one of the games that run on the same engine as Neptunia (Neptunia, Mugen Souls, Fairy Fencer F), Distance, Undermeme, one of theUmihara Kawases, Split/Second, Tales of Symphonia, 20XX, or Shantae & the Pirates Curse.
Any thing absolutely worth getting or adding to this list? I'm down for pretty much anything but MOBAs or walking sims.

Um, not really, depends on what kind of customization you're on about though.
Shit like Gothic I + II has good RPG elements in regards to plot and build variety.
Dark Souls is good for build variety.
Elder Scrolls is good for character customization, but not so much for effecting the story in anyway.

It's a stand alone with a good portion of rather decent player base, depending on what servers you play on of course, but it's interesting in it's way.

The Australian store lists prices in USD, so the cost to me is subject to exchange rate fluctuation, which is all over the place right now.

I only tried it solo but I imagine they're fine when you're playing with other people and you can focus fire but the game seems to assume you'd never play it solo.

I personally enjoyed Contrast and A Story About My Uncle btw. If you're into 3d platformers you'll like them, I think. They are pretty short though. Let me know when you decide what game(s) to buy.

I've been ruined by steam. I'm debating buying a game for like $5 when I know I will get dozens of hours of play time out of it. A few years ago I got EU3 for a few bucks and got literally hundreds of hours.

Mostly. The nature of the game makes playing CASUAL multiplayer very hard to do and promotes griefing/people coming to burn everything down. Very not-afk friendly, but otherwise superb in all it does other then shady combat vs giants.
