Do I need to do the PvP to get the full experience of it? I'm honestly not even really sure how it plays. I just want something I can enjoy like budokai 3

its been at 75% in the past. The OST is rad. A lot of people dislike the DLC the Joyful. I didnt mind it desu but its not as good as the basegame. If you think its your kind of game go for it. I have over 30 hours on it.

For those looking at One Way Heroics, there's a standalone updated version coming out later. Wait for that if you want better pixel graphics/text.

>>342806907
God damn it, seriously? I bought the fucking expansion because I thought I should get the complete shebang. Is it going to be a free update to existing users or is this going to be a "Hey fellas, we're holding this patch hostage behind a paywall" situation?

Oh, they're actually doing an overhaul that major? Might be interesting then. Wasn't SUPER wild about the game as it was, but maybe after a big update.
alright guys I need help with a game recommendation
my english is not so gud, please be patient
I want a game thats like metroid prime, but not necessarily "metroidvania"
one I've found is batman arkham asylum. that game kicks ass. I want a game where you explore, backtrack, upgrade your character to do new shit and open new paths you couldn't before. also stuffed with lore and collectibles.
but I want it to be 3D, not a 2D platform game.
metroid prime and arkham aslyum, those are the two closest analogues
>>342806531
Tired dunno about that
I need some MOTHERFUCKING GAMEPLAY ONLY games, no story bullshit, no cinematic experience, no plot twists, just fucking gameplay. Here are my humble recommendations.
Crimsonland 2.79
>twin stick shooter with satisfying controls
>basically be DOOMguy and shoot the demons
Downwell 1.49
>go down the well
>you have rocket launchers for boots
>go down the fucking well
Kairo 0.99
>kinda like Myst, atmospheric puzzle game with no words
>walk around and look at pretty colors and solve puzzles, pretty comfy
One Finger Death Punch 2.49
>you're a stick figure who needs to murder a billion other stick figures with kung fu
>fast paced two-button beat-em-up, left click hits left, right click hits right, gameplay is simple but satisfying
I also count things like Battleblock Theater, Super Meat Boy, Risk of Rain, Binding of Issac and Hotline Miami as "gameplay" games but everyone already knows about those.
I want more. Tell me more.
>>342807183
Budokai is gone forever. People even consider Tenkaichi games good now.

>>342806367
Combat itself is pretty great and what few events that are in the game are much needed flavor, but there aren't many.
As it stands there isn't much to do but rove around and hope you can find contracts you can handle. At the moment I am hopeful, but there was a post with an update awhile back that makes me skeptical that they even have a direction to take the game, as they claimed they were going to discuss this, and then essentially said: Ok we're redoing the UI.

>>342807492
Yeah, I'm kind of finding it hard to find things. I did the first mission where I had to kill that guy and now I'm just walking around and I'm unsure what to do.
>>342807492
This is pretty spot on. Another decent summary is it's the Mount and Blade of turn based tactical mercenary management. There's a thin layer of fluff between the battles, but the battles are really fucking fantastic.
Supposedly they're wanting to make the map more dynamic and put more weight on who you're working for and building a reputation with specific factions, but thus far they haven't done a whole lot with it. Dat combat, though. Every weapon behaves in a unique way, and there are relatively few straight upgrades except for some shit like militia spears being better than pitchforks.
>>342807684
Visit towns. If they don't have work, visit the bar and see if you can get rumors of where the work is.
I don't support early access shit, but this looks good and it won't be finished for over a year from now.
Is it worth it? Is there enough content?
>>342807621
This.
It's a genuinely good game, and much better than the first.
>>342807535
did you play The Swapper?
that one's pretty good and pretty cheap.
not exactly a hidden gem, but not super well known.
>>342807331
Unless you have a hole in your pocket and HAVE to have it on Steam I'd recommend pirating The Stanley Parable.
>>342807259
Nidhogg (multiplayer only)
>>342807758
Arguably enough content, if you just want to talk about surviving for the sake of surviving. The map's fairly large. Price is fairly cheap. S'ok.
Where are all of the dope ass hidden games you guys usually link?
>>342807758
There was a long post of shit that is wrong with game yesterday, but I did not bother to save it.
I would suggest waiting.
>>342807215
Assassin's Creed Black Flag, the others technically count but this is the best one. Ships are fucking fun as hell.
Both Legend of Grimrocks, though it's tile-based dungeon exploration, but a lot of hidden secrets, character progression, and optional stuff you can hunt for. Beat the first, haven't gotten far in the second, but can confirm the first is pretty good and second is fun.
Thief 1 and 2, more straightforward and not open world exploration, but involves a lot of looking about for hidden compartments for extra shit to steal. Ignore the other Thief games, they're not worth it.
Also every Dark Souls.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Can someone recommend a good lesser known jrpg? I haven't played a cheesy jrpg in a while, kinda getting the itch.
>Hate anime
>Don't really care about porn games since I have actual porn
>Somehow Huniepop is the game I bought during the sale and played the most

If you're in the mood for a comfy, children's storybook-like experience, I can't recommend A Story About My Uncle enough.
I actually bought it last summer sale, but only got around to playing it now. It's been amazing so far.
I have my eye on Oxenfree and Subnautica for this year's sale.
>>342807574
Oh shit Invisible Inc looks good. I looked at Helldivers but I don't trust those Magicka guys, I didn't like that one. I'll look into it a little more.
>>342807634
Got it, played it, loved it, played it more until I was sick of it, shelved it. Recommended though.
>>342807812
This looks metal as fuck. I've seen the trailer before but it was always slightly out of my "willing to pay" range. Is the multiplayer still going strong? I'd buy it for the current price.
How is Stranger of Sword City? I recall there being a lot of threads about it when it released?
>>342807758
its a fun game for awhile. the first few hours are fun then you memorize the maps and know where stuff is. all that's done is the sandbox mode and the devs seem more concerned with making ways to stretch the game by constantly adjusting mechanics instead of starting on the story mode they promised. one of the things people complain about is you eat three times your body weight in food to go out and explore and the next thing you know you're out of energy and freezing.
>>342808153
There is a pretty good review of the game on steam. Look for the one that lists its "good, bad and ugly".
Man, fuck this steam authenticator shit
All I want to do is sell these cards
>>342808153
half the fun is using pics of whatever character you want. the other half is if you like dungeon games like that.
Anyone who digs psychological horror and gets their Willy as erect as mine at the hint of impossible space should try out Layers of Fear.
>>342808112
Fucking loved that game. Wish it were longer, and I wish the devs were working on stuff that wasn't Goat Simulator expansions
should I get subnautica? Is it too spoopy?
>>342808153
I have it on Vita.
The combat is pretty unsatisfying, in my opinion, it's very slow, and when you speed the text up, you just kind of have to guess what happened.
If you really want to play a first person dungeon cralwer, I'd say emulate on of the DS Etrian Odysseys, or Revelations: Persona but if that's out of the question, I guess this is an okay game.
>>342808050
>>342808056
Already played it, it was pretty good. Most of the well known jrpgs I've probably already played. Hard to find hidden gems.
>>342808075
I'll check it out, looks neat.
>>342808112
Oxenfree sub five dollars is a safe bet. Anything more and I wouldn't recommend it.

It's absolute shit, they have no idea what they want to do with the game, and everything they do is extremely amateurish and has that "but we spent 3000 hours on this so we have to keep it" mindset.
The general combat system is more simplistic than for example King's Bounty or other casual hex combat games made for your cat lady aunt, and people honestly just "like it" because of the incredible amounts of RPGCodex and SA shilling.
If you like the free roaming, play M&B Warband which is actually really good, if you like turn based combat + free roaming, play Jagged Alliance 2.

>>342809005
I've been playing it solo (TPB edition) with the Valmod mod, and just building a fortified house with a farm and whatnot around it in semi-survival mode and the building and crafting is absolutely amazing, and the way it's block-based actually makes for better looking stuff than the non-block-based games because you're forced to think about what you're building.
I didn't hear a lot of good things about servers so I'm not sure if it's actually worth buying for MP, but the building/crafting part is really good regardless.

The concept (turn-based combat + M&B) is great, in theory it should be an expanded medieval JA2+M&B, but it just seems like a proof of concept game instead of an actual fully developed game, and at this point I don't think it's because it's "not finished yet", I fully believe that most systems will stay as is in the final game.
Look up all the RPGCodex threads where people who supposedly have good taste in games and understand the evolution of cRPG subgenres etc. and how they're praising this based on literally nothing, it's like a fucking cult.

I wouldn't say the DLC is mandatory. Buddy just becomes edgy and unlikable and obliterates everything in her path without punishment. Also, there's absolutely no punishment for using Joy. The ending is touching, but the whole game is so easy that it might as well be one long cutscene. You're better off just buying LISA the Painful and its OST.I know it's stupid but the ending really makes me hate Joyful. Aside from Buddy having superhuman strength and making every fight a cutscene, she just kinda gets away with murdering everything with no retribution. Unlike Brad, who is a good guy in a bad situation, Buddy is a horrendous person with everything in the world handed to her.

Which would you say is the best in the series?
>>342810610
Lots of people swear by it. I'm still on the fence and ought to give it another serious go.
Compared to Dragonfall you're going to notice Underrail is significantly less polished, and has far more depth as far as character creation/items are concerned.
My biggest gripe is how life less dialogues feel, and any anon I've talked to about it says they get better as the game goes on.

Well, it's literally the pinnacle of tactical squad combat.
In 1.13 you can make your own squad from scratch, if you don't want to use a squad of developed characters with amusing personalities and likes and dislikes towards each other. You can customize their equipment down to the type of holsters and weapon attachments, there are options for food/water management, it has the best gun porn out of any game I've ever seen or heard about, destructible terrain, a fully realized RPG skill/stat system for each character, etc. It's not mission based, but overland map based, you're going against the armed forces that already hold the map, and as you take over sectors, you can train militia to fight the enemy army, which adds another layer to the whole thing. You can cut wires, jump over ramps, climb roofs, set up explosive and other traps, take people down in stealthy melee night ops combat, and so on.
I don't know what more needs to be said.

DS can get a repetitive but you're unlikely to forget it once you're done. It has the tone of the other EA games from the period, willing to try new things without definite mass appeal. It's pretty enjoyable, but probably not the type of game you're going to play for hours and hours at a time.
DS2 is DS with mass appeal, the roughness has been smoothed out, it's more of what you'd expect from a modern action/horror, less repetitive, more linear, still spooky.
Like everything, DS3 is fun if you have a friend, but it's not on Steam.

Here, this guy has a martial arts character as his main merc (spoiler: they all die hilariously rather soon). I have never actually played with a melee character but there's a bunch of skills/perks/whatever that work in synergy with it, you can combine it with stealthy or night ops or similar.

>>342813756
>Ark
Is this playable without friends or will I get fucked up until I quit?
>>342813624
Ark and Rust over arma, at this point in time Rust is a lot more polished as a game than ark in terms of optimisation and pvp combat, however. Rust is dedicated to pvp and base building when Ark also has a pve aspect which almost makes it feel like an mmo.
Ark also has a leveling system which Rust does not but will soon. Rust you can basically find and craft everything and the combat will be on par with anyone and it usually comes down to player skill if you are both have the same gear.
You will loose a fight in ark to a level 80 with a 140 fucking trex, but that's half the fun. Ark has better clan management where Rusts is non existant.
Both get updated every week and have a great development team for each. And both games aren't scamming you and are worth every bit if you are interested in the survival genre, fuck dayz and h1z1 off along with arma 3, these 2 take the cake easily.
>>342808538
>not getting text adventure instead
I only ended up getting Lego Marvel Superheroes. Pretty good sales on a number of games on my list but not really interested in any of them.
Others are on sale but not for low enough.
>>342813947
Another thing to add is if you aren't playing with your friends then community is a going to be a massive thing for you, Rust is usually a hostile community of kill on sight because you can't fucking trust anyone, so expect to get killed on sight by fucking everyone, which isn't really a good or bad thing. It's just how it is. Be prepared to get raided and to be frustrated and to fight your way to the fucking top. Ark on the other hand has a more friendlier community because of it's pve aspects that have made the community less KILL ON SIGHt, there's also PVE servers if you are pussy enough. However it depends on if you enjoy pvp and fucking with people. I can say that from my personal experince I'd had a lot more fun with Rust than I have with Ark. Ark is still pretty cool though, I have a few mates who enjoy Ark more than Rust, It comes down to personal prefrence.

Call of Pripyat has aged amazing. Not that it's very old.
IMO better and more polished gameplay than in the other games. The plot is a bit less interesting though.
I'm completely broke and would like games like Stardew Valley, Isaac Afterbirth DLC, Shipwreck DLC, Undertale, Hyper Light Drifter or Shovel Knight.
Going straight to the point, what kind of service would /v/ like for them to buy me one of these games? I have a few talents, I can draw pixelshits and can teach Japanese (I passed the JLPT1). I can also recommend anime. :^)
>>342813942
Open world survival games are always based on numbers. You can make friends inside the game, but if you try to lone wolf it you will just get fucked in the ass repeatedly
>>342814165
>teaching Japanese over 4chan for games
Kek
>>342814165
I'll gift you stardew valley if you recommend me anime
>>342814165
just pirate them retard holy shit
Which is better, Rome II or Attila? Mostly in regards to co-op campaigns. What are the general differences gameplay-wise between the two?
>>342814165
How good is your japanese? I legit need a tutor and I don't mind buying you a game or two if you are a patient person who can teach basic japanese stuff to me.
>>342814165
>please buy me these single player games
Why not pirate them?
>>342813947
what is wrong with h1z1?
>>342814258
pretty original idea senpai
>>342814312
It's not up to speed in comparison to the other two. You can see that it's dropping off in player base and in updates, just check steam player statistics and you'll see. Ark is one of the most played games right now because of all of it's content updates, but once Rust is done polishing off gameplay and graphics they'll also be picking up on the players again.
>Betrayer
Any good?
>>342814205
But why are they like that? I mean, I played vanilla WoW on a PvP server for example, and world PvP was great even for a lone wolf.
I think that there's just something inherently wrong with the design of all these "open world survival games", in that they basically make 40v1 ganking the meat of the game, instead of something else being the meat, and that just being something that happens every now and then.
I mean if you want to simulate the whole Wild West thing, it was hardly kill on sight. And that's what I really want - a Wild West concept.
>>342814259
What's your steam?
>>342814258
>>342814280
I can teach Japanese though, I'm really good at it, I can manga, LNs and VNs regularly, though don't expect me to do it for you, it's mostly guidance and tools I'd offer, in the end you'd be the one putting the most efforts into it.
As for the pirate reply, it's a legit answer, but I like to beat games 100% and trophies are attractive. I also like to think their creators are getting something out of it. I don't mind pirating AAA games but all the ones I listed are indies. Those are shit reasons probably but whatever.
>>342807069
>>342806875
Dont listen. Stardew Valley is great if you want a comfy farming game. It's pretty much what everything after Harvest Moon64 should have been.
>>342810736
Damn, I really liked what I played of the first game too a long time ago.
>>342813947
Is it possible to get into a guild in either of these games if you don't use voice chat?
>>342814462
Isn't all that together like under 30 dollars? What's your situation that you're that much of a poorfag?
Fuck I'm a wageslave and buying those games on a sale day wouldn't be too much of an issue.
>>342814462
So if I bascially pay you, you'll only offer me some guidance? THAT'S FUCKED UP SENPAI.
>>342814462
wtf. do you really think 1-man games like undertale and stardew really need more money? those fuckers already are rolling in it.
>>342814597
He lives off of his parents.
>>342814165
Not gonna buy you shit, but you have pretty good taste desu
Is Rocket League worth the money?
>you have unlocked 9 event cards!
>where the fuck are they
>need to be level 5 to access them
>eh, i guess i'll make a badge, it's only30 cents
>minimum amount to add to steam wallet: 5.00
Almost had me, you fat fucking kike. Almost had me.
>>342814595
Yeah easily dude, not every clan is super try hard, only the massive clans will care about that, the one's that raid at specific times and all that. If you just wanna play with some other people lots of people would love to build a base with you. But I'd recommend getting a mic anyway, I dunno how you don't have one.
>>342814597
I suffer from crippling anxiety and depression and haven't been able to work in a while now. I don't receive any money from anyone.
>>342814613
I would guide you throughfully and teach you everything I know about learning Japanese. I used to be paid $15 / hour for doing so. Not exaggerating I would save you months of your life, implying you're serious about learning Japanese.
>>342814686
Thanks anon.
>>342814707
Ye. Got a mad playerbase aswell, check statistics.
>>342807331
>Dead Space
Love the games, but you need all that EA bullshit to play on PC. Plus in DS2 on PC, they just start you out with everything right away. It's kind of lame. Still, DS 1&2 are some of my favorite games of all time.
>>342814794
Link your steam senpai, we got some talking to do.
>>342814860
Sure.

Underage or something? Don't you get like a level for each year you've been on steam.

>He's so tall, and handsome as hell
>He's so bad but he does it so well
No, she isn't "actually quite good". I cringe every time my girlfriend plays this garbage.
>>342807259
>no cinematic experience
>walk around and look at pretty colors
>>342814436
You are competing for limited resources. A larger group can more easily take control of and defend these resources, just like in real life.
I don't understand why you are trying to compare a fucking themepark MMO to sandbox survival games, theyre not even the same genre
It makes me sad that no one ITT seems to be enjoying Steamworld Heist as much as I do.
I-it's 25% off!
whats the best game available thats a multiplayer diablo clone that isnt a MEME.
>Beam.ng Drive
>Doom
I'm waiting for gtaV to hit above 60%. everything else.....eeeeeehhhhhhhh
>>342814723
You can get lvl5 just by buying games
Also you have to give them your phone number if you want to sell the cards
>>342806531

is invisible inc. any good? just want something to run on my toaster that has a modicum of depth and isn't over in like 2 hours.
Even post number and I refund Hot Pursuit
>>342806531
Alright
>>342815145
get LISA
>>342814986
But they're not actually limited, you can harvest them indefinitely.
I'm comparing world PvP to world PvP.
>>342815308
nah. so it's no good? what about transistor?
>>342806531
sleep please?
>>342815041
Path of Exile & Grim Dawn are the only ones worth playing
personally I prefer PoE but some people like Grim Dawn more
PoE has darker visuals and is more online community focused, where Grim Dawn is a singleplayer experience for the most part that can also be played with friends
Already bought Dragon's Dogma and Transformers Devastation. Currently have Disgaea, Subnautica, Planetary Annihilation: Titans, and Ikaruga in my cart. Do I pull the trigger /v/?
I;m still undecided
I have 10 euros Should I buy:
>Rust
>Life is strange (all chapters)
>Nothing
Pick 1
>>342815472
Nothing
>>342815472
Nothing.
>>342814828
You don't need the EA bullshit I think. At least I don't remember doing it.
There is a guide on Steam how to disable the DLC dor DS2. I highly recommend disabling it.
>>342815409
>>342815409
thanks for the insight anon
>>342815472
nothing
>Sacrifice once again is only -50%
Maybe next year
>>342813680
People pay money for Doom 2 in these threads, don't question it.
I assume the HD re-release looks better. Just pirate the GOG release then.
>>342813830
Pretty good. Beat out the post-Minecraft survival game trend by a long shot.
watching a gook stream homeworld desert of kharak, he just started the game from the tutorial onward
game looks awesome but I probably shouldn't spend the money...
unless I roll a 6
>>342814571
It's worse than every Harvest Moon game. It has barely any content to the point is seems unfinished.
>>342807259
Ubermosh is fun but, you'll likely unlock everything in less than three hours if you're any good at twin stick shooters.
>>342806210
I have sleeping dogs. Is the definitive edition worth to get?
How long do refunds usually take? I refunded two games today and it's all the money I'm going to use this sale.
>>342814435
the stealth is kind of awkward and the enemies hit hard
but other than that its a kinda spoopy game
Should I?
>>342813830
Needlessly complicated and disappointing un-scary
don't forget about the 'complete the bundle' thing they added a while back.
if you own only some of the games in a bundle you get a further discount on the ones you don't have to complete it.
>>342816085
24 hours
>>342816018
No, same game + HD texture (you can install those too) + dlcs
Good games with VR support but aren't VR exclusive?
I got Super Hot and Subnautica, thinking of Project Cars
Any good rpg/games with tons of customization?
>>342814959
SAY YOU'LL REMEMBER ME
>>342815896
You're retarded
Any good exploration, racing, or TPS games on sale?
Dead Rising 3 worth? i liked Dead Rising 2 and OTR with a buddy and enjoyed it
>>342816538
Fuck off. You've probably never even played Harvest Moon.
>>342806294
In LISA: The Joyful you are a little girl, but you do get to wear a mask and kill lots of big guys
>>342807259
Can Kairo run on a toaster?
>>342816697
it's okay, I hear it's poorly optimized though so maybe don't bother if you have less than an r290/970
>>342816619
Played every dark souls, got anything else? Only thing I bought was Hero Siege this sale.
>>342816504
Sword of the Stranger
>>342806210
g2a is still cheaper
>>342816943
Might as well just pirate if you're going to buy from g2a
>>342816943
if g2a stil cheaper y i buy huinepop on steam just somthing 2 think about

>>342817054
What if I want a legit copy of a game? :^)
>>342816923
What other customization is there besides changing what your characters look like at the bottom. Is there a cool/deep item system? Seemed like another bland dungeon crawler to me. I don't really like EO games
>>342816734
I've played every Harvest Moon since the first up until FoMT
Literally fuck off, Stardew Valley is perfectly passable as a Harvest Moon clone.
>>342817157
What type of customization are you talking about?
>>342813624
arma. the other games are memes
>>342814270
attila is harder but rome 2 has better unit diversity and bigger scale. i recommend both honestly
payday 2?
>>342817231
Anything, appearance/items/stats/skills, rpg specifically. And by sword of the stranger, I assumed you meant Stranger of Sword City
>>342817481
At its current price? I guess. But you'd might as well go for the GOTY edition in that case, cause then you'll atleast get half or more of the DLC for literally a major fraction + special shit for GOTY
>>342817481
fuck no
are you crazy?
Is Beyond Earth worth it with the expansion? I know vanilla is shit but is it better with the other stuff?
>>342817481
I got some good enjoyment out of it for quite a while without ever buying any dlc. I haven't played in months though and I know there was some controversy.. over more dlc.
Heists are fucking fun, much more fun with friends. Playing with randoms usually just involves going "loud" (not sneaky) and killing cops, which is fun but gets old.
vermintide and the dlc worth getting if I have no friends to play with?
>>342817651
I played on free weekend and thought it was pretty good, but I guess it's somewhat inactive (according to comments made on /v/ during free weekend when people were making threads to ask about it)
Is Call of Duty worth buying if I've never played a FPS and Call of Duty before?
>>342817481
Only if you have friends who play it
>>342817605
It's not a shit game it's just too similar to Civ 5
>>342817651
not really, you're expected to know where everything is
>>342808510
Isn't Hong Kong shit.
>>342817508
Have you played Divinity Original Sin?
Not much in terms of appearance but items/stats/skills have a fucking wide variety.
>>342817757
>I've never played a FPS
underage or cuck?
i just want a freerunning/parkour game with good map design, man
>>342817773
Well I loved civ 5
>>342817813
I'm quite serious. I've never had any interest in them until now since I'm getting bored of mmos which have consume my gaming life.
>>342817919
Well if you want more of that go right ahead
>>342817927
CSGO would be a good and cheap place to start.
You will get shrekt though.
>>342811205
Crusader is more mp focused while Classic is more sp focused/harder campaign
>>342808003
CIVILISATION V WITH THE BRAVE NEW WORLD EXPANSION PACK
I've got $10 to blow, but not exactly sure what to buy. I've been considering one of the games that run on the same engine as Neptunia (Neptunia, Mugen Souls, Fairy Fencer F), Distance, Undermeme, one of theUmihara Kawases, Split/Second, Tales of Symphonia, 20XX, or Shantae & the Pirates Curse.
Any thing absolutely worth getting or adding to this list?
>>342815041
Torchlight 2 is the best, my nigga.
>>342817179
Until you finish year 1 and find out there's no more content in the game.
