The rumor doesn't specify, just says that Nintendo is getting a good deal on it. It's from Semi-Accurate -- who have been right about some things and quite wrong about some things in the past.

I know Nintendo was going to use a Tegra chip set in the 3DS, but dropped them rather late in the process because of power consumption issues. So take your pick as to how to interpret that or speculate about that -- it's super cheap because it's just leftover X1 chips or they're using the new Parker chip on 16nm. Whatever it is, it's got to be <5W.

Right, but calling it a hybrid implies a singular device, or at least a singular package that is sold together. Is the streaming on the PS4/Vita much longer range than the Wii U? Is that the selling point? That also implies you want two separate devices because obviously the portable would have to stream off of something -- so are they included in the same package? SNES-shaped handheld with shoulder scroll buttons and flat analog sticks. Around the size of the gamepad, but smaller so it is not so bulky. Two screens, but the top screen does not close on the buttons, it only covers the bottom screen. Enture device is flat when top screen is closed The top screen can also slide down to cover the bottom one, which is used by playing handheld games on the console, using the handheld as a controller. Otherwise, you play it with two screens on the handheld. All games can be streamed onto the handheld or the console.

For one what I hated about recent Nintendo system is how they charge so much for so little power

I hated how Wii U was about as powerful PS360 and demanded $350 while PS360 was only $250, not to mention PS4 blowing Wii U out the water in terms of power while only being $50 more. Even 3DS had this problem at launch, can't believe a 240p system had cost $250 in this decade


As for "something special" I actually encourage gimmicks as long as they work well and arent too intrusive(looking at you Wii U and SF:Zero), just something I wouldn't get anywhere else


I want something that makes me think "oh this game would be perfect on NX", the rumored scroll wheels might just do the trick, imagine playing Mario Kart on NX where a scroll wheel flick click would alter trajectory in items like a curveball

Aren't both of these predicated on the cartridge having a faster read time than a 5400rpm HDD? There's no point to compare the speed of a cartridge/card to the speed of a Blu-ray drive. The other consoles don't run the game off of the Blu-ray disc.
