Square Enix thread? Anyways, I bought XIII-2 on PSN sale and I must say, it's actually way more enjoyable than 13. I like Noel and Serah. They are far more likable than the 13 cast. The worlds are bigger and requires exploration (which is perfect because XIII had this big beautiful world but all you did was walk in a straight hallway leaving nothing to explore) . Caius is an excellent bad guy and his voice is sex. And I love the Pokemon-like aspect in the gameplay
Overall, I rank it an 7.5/10 so far (I just beat the dragon boss in The Archyite Steppe). Just wish the story wasn't batshit retarded.

I got used to the linearity and enjoyed the combat a lot. Fell in love with the characters by the end, so to have none of them return was a bummer. I don't like Noel, and Serah's redesign is pretty dumb looking to me. Noel and Caius both look super Kingdom Hearts and don't fit in.
I appreciate that the combat is faster. I don't like the addition of little "fetch my glasses" style sidequests, especially since lore items are locked behind them.
In general I think crafting a party member out of 3 monsters will less utility in general is worse than just having a third party member.
All just my opinions, and I can imagine that someone who bemoaned the direction 13 took would like 13-2 better as it steps back closer to other RPGs.

The game's combat in KH1 is great as an action RPG. You can call anything "press this to win", but you and I know we don't do that. The story in KH1 is the "best" it's going to get for someone like you, since it's the first game and it's just an original story with Disney characters. As the series goes on they expand it and go crazy.
KH games aren't hailed as the greatest. There is just no other game/series that plays like them. The combat is smooth and the way you can branch your attacks into different things is so unique and fun. KH1 has less of that, it's more like a standard, slowish, kind of action game compared to KH2 which is incredibly fluid in and out of battle.
The Little Mermaid world in KH1 is a lot better than KH2's LM world, because in KH2 it's just a rhythm game.

All of them were. Stealing Marluxia's scythe. Riding a chandelier. Fucking up a dragon's stomach. Pole dancing around the reaper's weapon and using it against him. Playing Yu-Gi-Oh with Luxord. Smashing buildings. Telling Larxene clones to fuck off. Showdown with Roxas. etc etc. They were fantastic.

People exaggerate how bad BBS is, sure it isn't as good as KH2FM but it is still a pretty good game. Getting upset about BBS is like getting mad that Peace Walker wasn't as good as the other Metal Gear games. It was a fucking handheld, it wasn't trying to be as good as a console KH game. It probably had a much smaller budget than KH2.

Don't even start. The bosses, the characters, the missions, the gameplay, everything about this game was fucking awful. Honestly even thinking about this game makes my blood boil I hate it so much. And I am about as big of a KH fag as you can be.

I played it in short bursts instead of in one go so it didn't feel repetitive. One thing I will say firmly is that movement in Days was better than it felt in KH1.
KH1FM is a lot better than BBS FM, BBS is an extremely unbalanced game with shitty worlds
