Is there any way to build a good PC for playing games without it costing me an arm and a leg ($2,000)?
I'm poor as fuck and been on consoles my whole life, then my friends turned into elitist PC Master Race and I'm tired of playing on inferior platforms.

My personal opinion:
You're better off building $1,000.00 computer every three-five years than a $2,000.00 that'll last you slightly longer.
I'm appreciating all this advice, it is a relief to know I don't have to commit fiscal suicide to migrate to PC.

Dude you can pay $600-$800 to make a PC that blows the current consoles out of the park. Anyone that tells you to pay more than that is a fucking dumbass. If you can purchase a LAUNCH PS3 for about that much then you have no excuse.
