The new Special Infected, while they addressed issues like camping, were also a bit too goofy and it further took away from the game's atmosphere.

No fucking way. I got all the perks to 6 except berserker, but L4D1 is far and away more fun and engaging than KF1.
L4D1 at high difficulty levels requires you to play as a team, listen for special infected, keep lines of sight and make weapon and load out decisions. KF1 at abything other than the highest level is "pick an area with good lines of sight and camp til theres 1 clot left, then head to the store". KF1 on Hell on Earth difficulty is "pick berserker and kite everything".

Dark Carnival's finale is great, the real flaw on that Campaign is that Map 4's horde event is literally impossible unless you get a bile bomb from map 1.
Swamp Fever is the worst vanilla map but it's still really fun and has the best finale in either game.

I know in 1, Zoey will almost always take a sniper rifle, which the AI is absolutely garbage at using, so in single player it's best to play as zoey since the rest of the team will generally only take assault rifles and autoshotties

It's kinda rare to see Realism vs now and when there are I quickly join in hoping that there's still a chance to win and the team is at least somewhat competent. something that always upset me was that when you get rescued at the end of blood harvest in l4d1 (which was the last map chronologically) during the outro cutscene you can see the sun coming up as they drive off implying hope. Yet they then released last stand after that. Fuck you Valve.

Louis has sort of the same color scheme as zombies, making him end up with a lot of friendly fire.
