The sole purpose of alt+tabbing for gamers is to quickly multi-task or quickly view something without wasting too much time. If we're going to waste time muting and unmuting the game we might as well just switch the game to windowed mode and turn it back to fullscreen when we're done, defeating the whole purpose.
