Honestly a Lucio and Mercy is a pretty damn god combination. Typically don't even need a tank, Mercy handles the people in direct fire and Lucio keeps the others topped off and pushes others. And both can DPS surprisingly well when needed.

worst part is in higher MMR she is pretty much invincible if her team defends her and an essential pick unless the healer knows his non-mercy healer inside-out.
Theres no real burst to get rid of mercy unless you somehow get Mei to come from behind and freeze her before she jumps to an ally, tracer/genji/pharah cant burst fast enough, and reaper still needs two shots for a kill since his shotguns are the worst I've ever fucking seen in a game.
The ONLY character i've seen as an effective counter is a roadhog, but if he misses the hook or slightly mis-aligns his shot she'll just jump away, or you know she's hiding behind the team.
Funny how when the game came out I complained about Mei, but now after playing upwards of 500 or so games I can finally see the real problems in the game balance.

The only way to kill a Mercy is to play a strong flanker like Genji or Tracer, which is the intended counter.
But only idiots weren't able to see that the meta would revolve around a support character. It's exactly the same as in TF2 where a Medic is fundamentally necessary on every team.Interesting to note that in the beta Mercy was picked less over Lucio because her ult was slower and easily interrupted. This buff was actually necessary to make her see play at all, so before you complain about Mercy nerfs you should look at Lucio first.

I commend Mercys that I feel do a phenomenal job.
They don't rush out in front of everyone.
They switch from healing to damage buffing when need be.
They mass rez at the most opportune times, even if it's just to bring back 1-2 players that could be key to the attack or defense.

I play on occasion with a friend that basically mains Mercy at this point. It gets a bit annoying when he starts blabbing "Please protect the healer, you can't do much if I'm dead." Sometimes he'll gloat about he saves someone from certain death. Don't get me started on what he's like if he gets PotG.

I don't think you've tried it since the beta then, because it's 5 rounds a second with 20 ammo, doing 20 damage per shot and almost guaranteed headshots because of the ridiculous projectile size. A single headshot (40) outdoes the damage of a melee attack (30), and you can do 3-5 shots per melee attack easily.

How could Lucio be nerfed? I don't think simply reducing numbers would do it. Everything about him is good.
He has powerful utility in that he can buff/heal all five allies (and himself) at once, and can fight at the same time. The knockback blast and his great speed and mobility give him overwhelming survivability and combat potential compared to the other supports. His Aura radius is massive and if everyone is in range, his healing dwarfs Mercy and Zen.
Although given his mobility and almost always-on healing further buffing the 200 HP he has, Lucio feels like he should be the much more squishy one.
150 health, and then give 200 to Zen (and perhaps Mercy).
Speaking of Zenyatta, I think he needs an overhaul, some more options, a mobility skill at least. He's just a very limited character.

I agree with Mercy's charge rate, but I dunno about giving it (back) an animation startup. They took that out in the closed beta for a reason. She's meant to fly in, probably die, and give the team one last shot at pulling the clutch off in dire situations. The only counter to Mercy is kill her first. Unfortunately, most pubbies are clueless as to this, even though multiple characters exist as backline harassment for this very purpose (Winston, Genji, Tracer).

I still use D.Va frequently for point rushes. If the enemy team has pushed too far forwards and is doing some sort of faggotry like not letting you out of your spawn, D.Va's an instant pick. Practically nothing can stop a surprise D.Va from going where she wants.
That said, the last time I did this, I had absolutely nothing I could do once I got to the point. I just landed on the site and spammed my disco lights until someone came to deal with me, then I flew around getting large health packs until my team pushed up.

Not at all, Zarya is useful for very few scenarios.
Where a Reinhardt is almost universal through most Escort and Assault maps, Zarya is mostly a situational pick on select Control and Escort maps, with Winston and Roadhog being more ideal for different parts of various maps.
Outside of her Ultimate being one of the big game-changers at the Overtime point, she's the least "tanky" Tank of the cast, squishier than the other four and only beating Winston in damage output at zero energy (even at 100 Energy which would require two Barriers to be fully depleted, she's still not that strong).

There's a rhythm to Zarya and it takes a little bit to get used to, but she's a lot of fun once you figure it out. Here's a few tips:
Push forward when your barrier is off cooldown and then fall back afterwards.
Don't preemptively activate your barrier since it only lasts 2 seconds. Activate only when you are being shot at. You'll usually soak up a few hits even if the enemy stops firing.
Damage to your shields is basically free since it recharges quickly outside of combat.
Spam your alt fire at range and into choke points. You can also sometimes pick off snipers and turrets with it as well.
Don't fight too aggressively unless you're charged up.
Stick with a team mate as much as possible to maximize your barriers.

Realistically, you can expect your damage buff to be anywhere from 0-50 most of the time, though. Very high numbers really don't happen very much.
Plus her base damage is kind of shitty, so you probably won't be doing a whole lot of damage either way.
It's worth noting that while Zarya's personal shield has a 200 health limit, her projected shield can absorb 400. It's not worth trying to overpower the projected shield since it will probably expire before you deal 400 damage and you'll be feeding Zarya buckets of energy in the process.

Most of the time playing Mercy is thankless, not that I mind but it's really annoying when my team ignores the fact that I'm being farmed by the enemy genji/tracer and they talk back to me when I ask them to help. Every now and then I queue into a really good team and I get to have fun, feels good doing solo revives all game long to keep up the pressure.
