I remember my school also had a different variant of Scholastic that you could order video games from. I think it was called 'Click' or something like that. It was just supposed to have educational games but every once in a while they'd have some random non-educational games, too. I got Battlefront 2 from one of these things, it was the first T-rated game that my parents let me play. I was too immature and unfocused as a person to actually function in college, and I felt an incredible amount of guilt wasting my parent's money on college.
The military fixed me. Mostly. Seems to have broken my computer addiction at the very least, and I do love working.
The nuclear program is an incredible amount of intellectual labor but the paycheck dragged me through it, even the studying, and I quickly learned how to be a functioning sailor.
