I would advise you against it. The story and characters are as painfully generic and derivative as it gets. The battle system is a shallower version of Grandia.
Pirate it before you buy it. The 2 hours steam gives you won't be enough to even get out of the fucking prologe chapter. I regret buying it, honestly. Shame I can't refund it anymore.

It's 8 european dollars for 50 hours of gameplay. It's a steal, as long as you don't mind JSRPGs and slow paced games.
Im still pissed as hell that my computer for some fucking reason cant play this game. It'll launch, steam will say im in it, then 5-10 seconds later Im not, and nothing ever started. Went through all the stuff online about doing settings, but my settings would never save, andt he open settings folder button never worked. Can only assume its cause I installed windows to C: and most other things to D:. Fuck man.

This game has more dialogue than some visual novels and book series'. Second Chapter even more so.
Despite that, the characters, story, and soundtrack are fucking fantastic. Gameplay is alright too. Certainly still provides a challenge at plenty of points, so you're still playing a game. I feel both games are worth the full price, but getting them on sale is probably good too.

My only gripe with the battle system is that the grid is present but the battle system itself doesn't actually make much use of it alone. The 'move' option is rarely useful outside of getting the fuck out of the range of an attack, and you can't even attack after moving, so it's kinda pointless from an offense point of view.
