Subnautica threadIs there a way to have a bigger single storage, I just got my building creator
Floor lockers hold more than wall lockers. Other than that I don't think so
>>342611420
I guess I haven't unlocked those, I just have the ones that can be placed in the water. It's hell to go back and forth between outside and inside.
>>342611539
Well if you got the building tool it should be a default recipie. It's like two titanium and a glass or something. You don't make them with the fabricator
Oh also be sure to set up a fish farm asap so you can eat because the shallows die out really quick still. Use a heated knife from a mod bench when getting food fish for extra fun. A big enough fish farm can also be great for bioreactors
quit playing because there's nothing to do really. waiting for later version
also, jesus fucking christ i am tired of thirst/hunger in games. thirst and hunger has never added anything, once, to any game, least of all fun
At some point I got a signal and I'm getting this icon for a "Heat Signature". Is this what i should be aiming for now?
>>342612119
>tell me how to play the game, /v/, I can't do anything by myself!
why don't you go and see
why would you ask when the entire point of the game is exploration and discovery
>>342612095
There is literally a mode for no thirst/hunger
>>342612119
It likely won't help you untill you get thermal power plans. And those need magnetite and that's a whole other shit show.
What you should be doing is looking for part fragments of the sea moth and then the cyclops as well as other building modules so you can go deeper for longer and find other shit.
Just be careful not to burn yourself out. There's not really any structure or much to do once you know the map since it never changes

Just reposting from the thread a few days ago
How much content can I see in the first 2 hours
I'll pirate or buy-refund it first to see how is it
>>342612586
not that kind of game.
It can unnerve since you're pretty much entering C'thulus domain.
They really need to focus on adding PvP and Multiplayer to this game, it's the only way anyone would find this game fun.
Reaching the bottom of the ocean floor
>>342612586
If you look on the wiki on how to get started or just play on creative and go around in a seamoth then you can see a fair amount of stuff.
>still no directional spotlight on the cyclops
Dropped.
Threadly reminder.
http://kotaku.com/revulsion-with-real-guns-inspired-developer-to-make-a-g-1768960503I really do enjoy the game, but jesus fuck the devs are a bunch of pussies.
>>342612650
Well it's early access survival, isn't it?
I'm just asking if I'll run out of stuff to do quickly or does the game have a lot of content
>>342612586
2 hours no guide and you probably won't get very far because the game doesn't explain its systems much
There's no DRM so you can keep playing if you refund it
Some anons said this is where The Void is located which where the large monsters are supposed to spawn out of.
>>342612785
looks well rationalized to me even though it doesn't correspond with my opinion.
don't have any issue with it and i welcome the existence of fewer games with guns tbqh. makes developers think more creatively than "point middle of screen at thing and it goes away"
>>342612813
You will likely run out of content. There really isn't much outside of exploring and there's only so many threats to watch out for while you do so.
If you are worried about getting bored I'd hold off on getting it. You gotta want to explore it
>>342612881
>where the large monsters are supposed to spawn out of.
Sorry, anon, that isn't in the game yet. All that's out there is water and spooky-ness. Also, things don't acutally respawn in the game, yet. What you see is what you get, unless you breed more.
>>342612881
They don't spawn yet, currently there's nothing in the abyss and it goes down indefinitely. I think that's just a trench they haven't edited out or done anything with yet.
>>342612986
Oh, it could be fun if I had fear of underwater. I'll try it anyway, thanks
>>342612928
>well rationalized
>school shootings happen every day
>>342612928
I do agree that, yeah, its pretty neat that there are no guns in the game, and Imostlylike the way the game handles dealing with enemies, but I still wish that there was more than one thing in the entire game, aside from ramming your sub into things, that actually does damage.
Maybe like a slow-loading harpoon gun or something, I don't know. What I do know is that stunning a monster and knifing it to deaf over and over again gets boring fast.
>>342612675
Why does it look like that
>>342613345
Lights off, sonar on, very deep
Do I build my base right under my escape pod or what
>>342613434
Thanks
>>342613445
The pod has a high tendency to drift away so don't count on it always being around. Build your first base as close to the surface as you can to take advantage of solar power.
>>342613345
The Seamoth (Little ship you get to swim faster) can be upgraded with different stuff
I put in the Sonar upgrade which lets me basically scan the ground (to get the lay of the land so to speak) when shit gets too dark/lights fail you to navigate your way.
Is it worth buying yet now that it's on sale. I'm always afraid of lack of content and then never coming back when they actually add more.
Threadly reminder we will never have GUNS
>>342613743
"Worth buying" is always subjective. I personally got it full price and sunk 40 hours into it after the power nap update.
It just comes down to how much does exploring new areas excite you? And then the problem becomes will you want to explore it again when it's finished?
>>342613182
i think that was a cognitive error and he simply meant to type shootings
however, shootings at schools, do happen almost every. single. day. in america. so he's not wrong
we just don't call them "school shootings" but yeah i wouldn't doubt 1 a day actually. There are about 120 million school age children in america. Just a huge number for things like that not to happen
>>342613268
there is a harpoon gun thing or something? if theres not it was teased.
Well a better map ever be added? The scanner room covers such a small area and honestly isn't that detailed or useful. I wouldn't mind a GPS sort of thing that you had to pull out to use, but I just want something that showed the discovered areas.
>>342613774
So? The purpose of the game is that life sucks for you and that everything else WILL kick your ass.
The game is a hell of a lot scarier than other survival games for that point alone, and a major theme of this game is that humanity is not at the top of the food chain on other planets.
>>342611242
DONEVERYTANING
WAITAN
There is a story in there, but development has been backlogged with incredibly slow updates, and matters are worse when you have played and explored everything now.
Battery recharge update was worth it but it took forever to happen.
>>342614256
that's a fabricated theme, though, because with the technology your guy has he could just create any kind of weapon to instantly delegitimize any threat in subnautica
so we have to think of them as some kind of morally hyper evolved humanity that just doesn't think to use violence
.........however this seems directly contradicted by the basic plot that is in the game already
>tfw too scared to stray too far from the pod
>tfw hearing distant sounds when night time rolls around and heading back to the pod
I knew I hated the goddamn ocean but I thought since it was just a video game I'd be fine
I was wrong
>>342614368
Something something firmware updates on the fabricators
At the end of the day it's really just so you never feel fully in control
>>342614098
No harpoon gun in the game, or anything other than the knife or ramming into things that does damage.
>>342614098
>implying
School shootings dont happen everyday stop being stupid.
>>342612928
>well rationalised
He's advocating non-violence in the hopes of preserving human life via a game in which you are the only human on a hostile alien planet. Keep in mind that he also believes that video games don't cause violence, does that mean he believes they don't cause non violence either?
despite the topic I wanna ask here because people in subnautica threads seem calm and collected
Is this game worth grabbing, is it comfy?
>>342615506
>comfy
it's DOS xcom levels of bullshit
>>342615506
I can't say for sure but going by what I've heard the RNG can be absolutely infuriating at the worst of times. But that is part of the fun I guess
>>342615204
someone shooting someone at a school probably happens close to every day in america, just statistically speaking
that's not a "School shooting" though
>>342612785
To be fair it is pushing a different direction despite it being your standard survival game
>>342612482
>tfw newfags dont know
>>342614368
>he could just create any kind of weapon to instantly delegitimize any threat in subnautica
Not if there aren't blue prints for them.
Not having guns isn't a big deal, be less of a faggot
>>342615506
I sank around 20 hours in it, but didn't get too far. I found it fun and tactical. Lots of bullshit if you ever push your luck though. Less bullshit than XCOM though. I wouldn't say comfy, but it has some kind of oppressive atmosphere.
>>342612427
I pirated the 1353 version a while ago and am considering buying it. Is there new stuff already?
>>342615660
That's wrong though most shootings happen in "da hood" with handguns. Stop making yourself look dumb.
>>342615660
If it were students injured per day, I'd say yeah it happens every day. It's also a stupid statistic and has no real merit for the director's decision. He could have just said it was for game balance or to keep the game tense, but he decided to spout some bullshit about making a statement towards gun violence, by pulling a number out of his ass.
>>342616565
The most recent update allows you to recharge batteries and power cells as well as adding beds to bypass night time.
Power cells chargers are a bit exploitable in a cyclops right now however. Also terraforming will be removed soon
I'm fairly new to the game so I don't have a big reference of what was previously in.
Seriously? You gonna bring "muh gums" here?
Did they remove static rifle (or whatever it was called) too?
Of course I'd like to see some futuristic underwater AK or harpoon of some sorts, but it's been fine as it is so far.
There are torpedoes in the game, btw. Just sayin.
>>342613774
>guns removed from game
>vehicular slaughter is still in the game
Way to take a stance on the lesser evil, Flayra
Honestly anyone who's seen the main character should know all they need to know about the creators political stance on things
>>342616851
non lethal torpedos
You're in an alien environment and shit is out to kill you, you can fabricate anything with your magic wand. Only an idiot wouldn't have some kind of self defence
>>342612785
That statement has been proven to just be a way to grab some sweet initial tumblrbux, as the devs have now included an acid/nerve gas torpedo in the game that kills things
>>342615506
>comfy
it's not comfy at all
It's good though
>>342617009
Your (mining) ship was sent out with faulty firmware in the fabricators. It's why you need to scan things. It's flimsy, but it's the reason.

>you can set up potted Tiger Plants to act as seabase defense

>>342618768

>>342616640
>That image
It's funny, but the protagonist is actually a turbo-black with neon blue mohawk.
>>342617009
>>342618616
Want to hear a simpler explanation?
The survival-gear program of a corporate mining vessel is not going to just have the blueprints of military-grade firearms in the databanks.
Especially a program so damaged you have to literally download *scrap metal* to get more data.
>>342618892
im just happy hes not quipping off bullshit or doing anything other than having an embarrassing shadow that would identify him as such.
>>342616640
i know this might be hard to comprehend to you with your suburban upbringings but "the hood" has schools too and these schools are located in "the hood"
>>342619191
you shouldn't hold animals to the same standards as people anon.
>>342618616
Considering that the protagonist's hair seems to be held together by military-grade hair gel that doesn't let go even in the ocean, I assume his hairdo is some prank his co-workers pulled on him when he was passed out after a night of heavy drinking during the last shore leave and he'll be stuck with it for weeks to come.
>>342619049
They're living in a future so advanced that mass fabricators, genetic modification and terrain manipulation are so readily available that a dorky crewman with a device the size of a controller can build them.
The protagonist being a black guy doesn't matter since you could quite literally become any race or gender you want, given time and the proper facilities.
>>342619421
like i said, im glad hes easy to self insert into.
>>342619421
>The protagonist being a black guy doesn't matter since you could quite literally become any race or gender you want, given time and the proper facilities.
Why don't they do this at the start of the game? Start you off as mohawk-man then give you a character creator of sorts that lets you customize your appearance?
>>342619421
Aren't they removing terrain manipulation?
I'm new to Subnautica and have two questions.
First, do I have to play as that Korean faggot? Second, full release when?

yes and when its done :^)
>>342620129

I don't know how to feel about this

>>342620196
ideally, it evokes anger and disbelief
>>342620051
>First, do I have to play as that Korean faggot?
Yes, but he's so much of a non-character that I literally thought he was a white guy until I saw the teaser.
>Second, full release when?
Whenever, they're still adding shit into the game.
>>342620196
The game isn't dead by any sense of the word, the developer has been regularly posting updates and development.
>>342620229
Nah, get it now, the rules of the game change every 6 months or so anyway.
>>342612785
it would be absolutely retarded to add conventional firearms to the game. ruins the immersion completelyHOWEVER
I would be okay with torpedoes and harpoons and all that nautical maritime weaponry bullshit
>>342612785
Not sure I agree with this reason behind it, but I really don't see why Subnautica NEEDs guns.
That seems like it would defy the entire feel of the game. It's not a game about combat. It's not a game about gun battles.
Which is fine. Not every game needs to be a contest to kill as much shit as possible. Sometimes thriving without excessive violence is fine too.
>>342620351
>>342620543
You know what would actually be cool for Subnautica? Mining facilities.
Like, you have to prospect first, discover a patch of ocean floor that pings hard for a certain mineral, and then build a big ole excavator that requires consistent power to remain operational, maybe include support structures such as refineries.
>>342620978
if they dont add some way to extract metals id be extremely surprised and disappointed. considering the aurora was a mining vessel it would be dumber than not including a spear gun or a net for fishing
>>342620978
Need to be careful with that as to not make the game trivial. Seems like something that could really only be added much later down the line, or else it risks removing any reason to leave the base.
>>342612561
>What are those giant fucking jellyfish squid
...death
it gets even worse, when done , these fuckers will have a localized emp blast which can disable your seamoth and seaglide and possibly even your fuck off weaponry
>>342621202
Aurora is a rescue vessel, sent to get the Degassi, the actual mining vessel.
Both ships were shot down outside of the planet.
>>342621202
>>342621375
Mining facilities feel like something that should only be available after you can access the main databanks of the Aurora (maybe something you can do immediately after fixing the radiation leak?)
And let's be honest here, by the time you're crawling over the Aurora the whole resource-collection aspect of the game has gotten tedious, at least for the base metals. There shouldn't be diamond mines or Uranium pits sure, but something that lets me actually get silver or quartz without trawling half the fucking seabed for it would be appreciated.
>>342621718
>Aurora is a rescue vessel, sent to get the Degassi, the actual mining vessel.
Really? Shit, gotta check what the codex says after I scan some scrap metal then, because last I checked it was a "Class IV mining vessel" or something to that effect.
>>342621718

it cought my cyclops back then when there was flooding, but no crushing. got rammed by a leviathan close to maximum depth, and flooded, i sunk down to 7000 meters and got cought on a ledge on the cliff. it goes down even deeper. screenshot from when i tried to salvage my cyclops inventory, it is pitch black down there.

PDA logs found in the Degassi and Aurora wreckages scattered throughout the ocean reveal that the Degassi was the original mining vessel owned by Torgaljin Corporation. It crashed on the planet 5 years before the start of the game. The Aurora was sent to pick them up and finish their job, but its primary purpose was to collect them.
>>342622218
does not change the fact that the ship itself is a mining craft as well. unless they plan on retconning it the ship calls itself a mining vessel

Does the game ever crash when you change the graphics presets for anyone else?
The game also lags a shitload whenever I'm loading into a level too.
I dont have a crappy computer though.
Also this game fucking freaks me out with the giant jellyfish looking motherfuckers making noise that echo for miles. Maybe I shouldn't play this while high considering I have thalassophobia
>>342623446
My LITERAL hopes,dreams, and NIGHTMARE.
I havent gotten a chance to play yet and I have severe thalassophobia. As of now I think the leviathans and Sea dragon look too "cartoon/dreamworks"-ey? But I also know that its going to be a complete different story when im actually PLAYING the game.
All in all though,They need to make the Leviathan and Sea Dragon look a lot more threatening for being some of the biggest monsters in the game.
A personally wish of mine are different types of a creature. A brown bioluminecent Sea Leviathan that lurks much deeper and slightly bigger then the normal leviathans. A variation of the species would be great.
>>342623882

>>342624682
Not necessarily stuck just fucking cowering in the hole while I waited for the sound to go farther away. I was in my seatmoth mind you, and my cyclops was enough of a distance away that mystery reaper noises caused me to worry.
Game needs: elevators, electric doors, window shutters, tram tunnels, thick cables for transporting electricity instead of these dinky rods, with a potential upgrade of wireless power, teleporter as an end game transportation devjce, ability to expand rooms, mineral mining devices, drones for repair and mining, harvesting of fish.
Right now it just feels kinda light. I wish they would concentrate more on gameplay stuff than story elements.

Well it does have a camera on the back. Also one on top and bottom. Are those not good enough? I can usually see everything pretty well with them.

>>342626283
are there not tons of wrecked parts in the red kelp area close to the aurora? there were like 7+ seamoth chunks there for me
>>342626283
I found a full seamoth worth of parts all clumped around each other after I spent forever unlocking the thing. Just look around in the red grass.
>>342618471
or just watching the official trailer duh.
>>342626353
I don't think reaper eggs are implemented yet, if they ever will be at all
>>342622404
>So you are angry the director made a decision based on his sentiment?
Not at all, but it seems incredibly disingenuous when you justify these opinions with outrageously fucked up numbers just to make your point sound extreme. It's not really a secret that Flayra is kind of a retard when dealing with criticism, but his statement just drags all kinds of other unwanted attention for him to strawman against.
>>342626640
Sea Dragon eggs will be, I don't see why Reapers wouldn't have them.
>>342626730
He meant mass shootings, and it's true that there is a mass shooting in America almost every day. We all just ignore the fact that a mass shooting is any shooting in which 3 or more people are targeted, which applies to a lot of gang violence.
It's really funny that white people have this reputation for being crazy mass shooters when it's primarily blacks doing it.
>>342626640
sad but I understand, would be nice though
>every subnautica thread devolves into gun arguments because you faggots can't let one happen without posting that blog post
Fuck you guys, can't we have one thing that isn't tainted by politics?
>>342619637
Because it fucks everything up. With terraforming all of the ground is made up of lots and lots and lots and LOTS and LOTS AND LOTS of individual chunks, which is why there's so much lag and pop-up at the moment. They're getting rid of it to make everything stable and faster. The only thing it negatively affects is one particular creature that had to be revamped because it worked with the terraforming idea, but they'll put it in after the game launches and hopefully they'll make it so it attacks your bases on occasion.
>>342627207
just ignore the politics posts instead of talking about not wanting to talk about politics
there are plenty of other comments to reply to that aren't discussing it
So I am confused. Is it possible to create sustainable food with crops and fish breeding or is that not in right now? I want to get to the point where I don't have to worry about food and shit.
>>342627512
put two fish in a tank two units high and never worry about food again. or go to the island and grab the planters and lantern fruit
>>342627512
Get lantern fruits from Floater Island and you'll be immortal
>>342620978
To balance it maybe they could make it so nearby seamonsters became far more aggressive due to you encroaching on their territory, eventually leading to attacks on your bases.
>>342623890
Those giant reefbacks are completely passive and chill. Swim up to one and say hi next time you see one, they just float and relax.
They're my favorite creatures in game by far
>>342627583
>>342627585
Lantern fruit grows quickly I am assuming?
>>342627757
>called a reefback
>theres no reef on its back
shameful
>>342627850
And it gives you a decent amount of water as well as food, plus the trees have a lot on them
>>342627850
lantern fruit is op as shit aside from the fact its a bit bulky so taking water+cured fish is better for transport. it gives water and food and grows insanely fast you only need one if you dont venture far from your base and you can plant it in the cyclops
>>342627591
They will be implementing creatures attacking your bases in the future, along with base defense systems. The larger your bases the more often they'll be attacked. Don't know if it will be by the nearby creatures/ones native to the biome or if Reapers and Sea Dragons and such will migrate all the way from their homes to fuck your shit up.

>>342627850
Plant 4 lantern fruits in your base/cyclops and you will never want for food or water again. Hell, just plant one and you'll be fine.

What happened to you /v/? You used to be smarter then this
>>342629231
I'm not sure this is the game you want to scratch that particular itch. The resources are more of a hassle than anything and it becomes of game of going further and further out just to find a couple bits of Quartz for some glass. The food and water mechanics are ok untill you get set up with a filter system or lantern fruit and then they are just a hassle as well.
The meat of the game, for me anyway, was closer to a sightseeing tour with bits of avoiding giant monsters

Am I the only one who realized the Crabsquid is a shout-out to the MUTOs?
Does this game not autosave? I made a hardsave while exploring Aurora pretty early in the game, but I kept going for about two hours after that, and then I quit, and didn't save because I thought the game would autosave, yet when I started the game again I discovered my last save was at the Aurora.
>>342630352
No auto saves that I know of. Happened to me as well
Is there a map in this game?
>>342630352
It saves whenever you go inside your base/sub/escape pod, though I'm not sure if it's only your inventory or the whole game.
Should I get subnautica if I bought dayz sa and space engineers and hate them both? Subnautica actually looks pretty good but I can't buy this shit if I'm never gonna play it.
>>342630468
Sure would be nice to have a little message when you quit, informing you of that fact.
>>342630586
It only saves your inventory, or at least it didn't save my game.
About to start building my base underwater, which part do I build first? Will it flood if I do it in the wrong order?
>>342629489
I've only played 3 hours so far, but I didn't even realize it was early access. Very solid so far for 11 bucks.
>>342630586
All that does is secure your inventory so if you die before getting back again anything secured is not lost while anything you gained is
>>342630645

Boom, your new home is ready.
Is it just me, or does anyone else fail to find the giant monsters scary?
I mean, I'd normally be scared shitless of giant sea monsters in spooky dark depths, but these designs are way too silly looking. They remind me of some kid-friendly Dreamworks shit.
We need more abstract looking stuff with more spooky faces.
>>342630983
>>342630789
They're considering multiplayer, but it will be after the game launches and they have all of the important stuff first.
>>342630983
It's certainly unfinished as of now but content seems to be being added regularly with a clear end point in sight.
Haven't played dayz so I can't compare the two but the main problem I have in subnautica is a lack of goals right now. You wander around scanning parts and that's pretty much the height of the games progression
>>342631196
Such as? Got any visual examples of what you find spoopy?
>>342631196
They sound spooky though

>>342631906
Hope you can get to your seamoth in time and never look back
>>342631196
Or alternatively actually have them in the darker depths. i think that would up the scare factor if you couldn't see their whole body at once.
>>342631441
I was thinking something more like extreme anglerfish faces, and something like the pelican-eel. Also, definitely more squid/octopus inspired stuff.
Basically, they should look more like actual, alien-looking real life fauna, and less like fantasy cartoon dragons.
>>342632071
The larger beasts are in the dark depths. When you see pictures and videos of them in the shallows it's people using Experimental Mode.
>>342632172
Ah, does anyone have any pictures of them in their natural environments? I want to see how spoopy/nonspoopy they look in the dark
>>342632152
>more like actual alien fauna
>less like fantasy designs
what actual alien fauna are YOU using for reference?
>>342632071
The place where the Sea Dragon normally hang out is in a gigantic cavern 1 km below sea level, with a castle made of solidified lava in the middle. Pretty spooky
>>342632271

You can have one equipped, but any others in your inventory will still add to your oxygen supply.
I don't know if they're going to remove (re-remove?) that at some point, and if they do, I hope they give you two tank slots.
Here's a night shot of the Sea Dragon at the surface. The video is a good indication of what it will be like in the Inactive Lava Zone and Lava Castle, the guy playing messes with the darkness, fog, and such to show what the Sea Dragon in its natural home looks like.

Does the big ship at the start explode after a while or something?
I'm not sure if I've fucked up or not
>>342633307
its normal and part of the story. be sure to take the welder in with you once you get the radiation suit going. and dont lose that module you get, its the only one.
>>342633307
Yeah. Craft a radiation suit, a welder and go fix it up
>>342633307
The Aurora does explode after a certain amount of time, and floods a large area with radiation. You need to make a radiation suit and go aboard it to fix its engines and stop the radiation as well as progress the story.
Just beware, at least two Reaper Leviathans will always be patrolling around it, one at the back and one near the front, sometimes a third along the left side.
>>342633281
Yeah I wouldn't be against being able to craft an inventory extension at some point. Though the lockers you can build in your base can hold alotta crap, and your can get a small bit of storage in your seamoth with an upgrade.
>>342633307
Yes. It blows up a few in-game days after the start, and you can explore it after it explodes.

Depends on how much you want to do. From start to finish, now, it's about 15 hours. 20 hours if you don't research before hand.
It depends on how much you want to do in the game, honestly. Do you care about finding out about the story, seeing all of the cool biomes, cataloging all of the alien lifeforms, and decorating your base? Probably on the upper end of 30 hours. If you just want to get everything "required" out of the way? About 5 hours.
Is it always the same map or does it randomly generate?

>>342637245
Guns are pretty much necessary at this point. The mountains biome has Reapers spawning at the rate that Sand Sharks do in the grassy plateau biome. They're not supposed to be monsters that you hunt, they're specifically hunting YOU.
>>342638428
Is this shitty monster design the only fucking thing they can come up with for all their giant creatures?
>>342632152
squid stuff is hard atm since the physics dont really support fluid creature movement
>>342631196
You're not wrong. There needs to be more monsters like these guys
>>342638857
Yes. XBoner release is going to mirror the PC release. PS4 and NX release possible if the XBone release does well enough.
>>342638428
Reminds me of Halo and I love it
>>342638923
you are welcome to present one of your original designs
>>342638428
This and the Reaper look so much like aquatic tyranids.
>>342638923
The Precursors aren't giant, senpai. They're human sized. They're the ones running the whole show. They mind controlled the Degassi survivors and got them to go into the depths of the ocean where they were ???'d. They hunted the other Aurora survivors. You play as the only person in the game who hasn't been hunted by them.
Pic related is what they did to the Degassi survivors' bases. Only one person escaped to the surface, and we only know about them because of his abandoned PDA log, implying he's dead as well.
BUILT
>>342639263
Congrats anon
>>342639180
They are obviously related to the Reapers somehow. Given the Reapers' spawn locations, the Precursors could actually be controlling them and sending them to scout and protect certain things.
>>342639394
dont forget to slap a charger in there and cycle the power cells in it!
BOAT
Anyone elae also looking forward to Abzu?
Subnautica has convinced me underwater exploration is the comfiest of all vidya pastimes.
>>342612095
has anyone played The Long Dark? seriously have to eat three steaks everyday.
>>342628585
That's what makes it fun nigga
>>342638428
They don't look all that much of a threat
>>342639506
>SeaWorld
wat...
you doin dolphin shows and shit?
>>342639064
A giant, cohesive "cloud", or swarm of vicious alien lamprey eel like creatures than move in an etherial unison through the waters like a flock of birds through air.
Or hell, just one giant-ass lamprey eel would be way scarier than the Reapers.
>>342639725
well.. that would be the crabsnake.
and we already got blood sucking parasites
https://youtu.be/flOWPMU5VTs?t=1007
>>342639672
>>342639401
thanks bro
>>342639667
Considering they're much smarter than everything else on the planet, I consider them the biggest threat. Everything else is a dumb animal. Precursors are intelligent enough to bioengineer an entirely new species of enemies, and they tamed the Sea Emperor.
>>342639725
oh hi, looks like you are enjoying the biolume mushrooms. just gonna fuck that up real quick
>>342639638
The Long Dark is fucking great, man
Best survival game out there
>>342639725
Both of those ideas are stupid as fuck. Good thing you aren't a designer.
Was thinking about buying this, but from what I've read in the thread, it seems like I should wait a while.
Are there any videos that shows an uninformed person like myself the major points and what makes this game good?
>>342639915
>>342639880
Well there you go. This is good.
More of stuff like this and less semi humanoid dark fantasy dragon monsters swimming around.
>>342639918
>burning through a billion calories a day
this game is sponsored by weight watchers or something
>>342640187
Have you ever been outside?
Hiking and carrying a ton of gear around all the time makes you burn massive amounts of calories
In The Long Dark you average around 2500 calories a day, which is reasonable for being in the cold and hiking with 50 pounds of gear
>>342637153
I wasn't as keen for hugs as the crabsquid.
What about these fellows
>>342640269
how is long dark? honestly only recently heard about it and i need a new survival sim that isnt a PVP wankfest
>>342640285
Crab Snakes. Completely harmless. Go scan them.
>>342640170
>you cannot have anything in your game that I don't like! Only put in things that I think you should!
>>342640429
to be fair to that anon, sea dragons are a little boring. i too would like to see some less reptilian designs
>>342640130
The Steam Store videos do just fine.
Honestly, you shouldn't spoiler yourself on the game. It's better going in blind and knowing nothing. Far scarier and more intense that way.
>>342640269
well, im a fat fuck, if this game would be reality, i would turn into a slim mofo within 2 days. and im packin enough calories to last me for months irl :p
>>342640619
I am only skeptical about this since it's early access.
>haven't checked the aquarium since i put a third angel ray in there a whil eback since I now have lantern fruits
>mfw
>>342640593
Sea Dragons are cool. Them and the Lava Lizards are the only reptiles in the game. Though I do agree we need more aggressive enemies and resources so that you get new surprises for going into some previously useless biomes, like the Floating Islands, or the Dunes.
>>342639725
That's horrible.
It's perfect.
>>342639993
It would be fucking scary if you were crusing in your sea moth, getting ready to get out and look around and all of the sudden your screen is covered by lampreys.
>>342640406
>>342637153
You are a cool guy.
>>342640757
>It would be fucking scary if you were crusing in your sea moth, getting ready to get out and look around and all of the sudden your screen is covered by lampreys.
There's already something like that, in the Inactive Lava Zones. They do more than just scare you, though, they drain your Seamoth's power by up to 1% per 3 seconds.
>>342639918
it looks very... short height wise, maybe just angle of the webm or something
art style looks nice, does it have enough content to keep you playing for hundreds of hours or no
>>342640748
As someone who likes this game a lot, you should wait. It has a lot of stuff to do and explore, but it's better to wait for all the content at once so you don't have to wait for updates.
>>342640429
I'm not saying the Reapers and shit should be removed or redesigned, but I'd like for them to deviate into more exotic and bizarre designs for future giant agressive monsters.
The Reefbacks for example would fucking terrify me if they were hostile.
>>342640748
It's more fleshed out than a lot of full released games. Plus, it's getting continual support from the devs, who already have a good track record (Natural Selection and NSII).
>>342640972
The fact they are the NS people really interested me in the first place.
>>342640863
>keep you playing for hundreds of hours
yeah you do, because it forces you to walk slowly , or you die from starvation, because you have the metabolism of a hummingbird
>>342640391
It's excellent
Survival is really hard, the world is beautiful, sound design is great, world is big, no bugs that I've seen, very active devs
10/10 would recommend
>>342640756
i guess they are the only true reptiles, but i just get a lizard vibe from lots of things like the stalkers and reapers. the crabsquid and crabsnake have to be my personal favorite designs. some more multilimbed nightmares would be nice
Wait until they start getting more dangerous flora into the game.
>>342641061
t. never been /out/
>>342641041
Also, if you buy before August, you get a free pet fish that follows you around. It's called the Cute Fish.
I've been amazed by how much content they've put into the game since I bought it half a year ago. There's so many new things to do, and they keep optimizing it so it runs better.
>>342641061
damn that's rough
>>342641140
oh well, in fact this shit is buried beneath the sand, and reels in prey with its tentacles like an ant lion
>>342641140
Fuck me I'm getting flashbacks to the water levels of Heart of Darkness from that shit.
>>342641274
Can I use it as bait to escape predators
>>342641274
>>342638589
but does it do anything or just act cute?
>>342641127
>>342640971
What about these, then?
Their attacks deal as much as a Sand Shark's.
STOP MAKING SOUNDS YOU FUCKING FISH
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Isn't this the game that doesn't have guns in it because 'Sandy Hook wuz soo sad :''('?
>>342640662
> :p
Kill yourself
>>342641428
>>342641398
It's not in yet, but supposedly you can kill it for the best food in the game (cooked heals 100 hunger + 20 thirst)
>>342641614
>kill it
absolutely disgusting
can I capture it and put in my aquarium?
>>342641684
Yes. It'll follow you around outside, too, making baby noises at you.
>>342641684
It follows you everywhere, and you can pick it up and put it in the aquarium. It can also reproduce so you'll have a school of the little buggers.
>>342641778
CUTE
but i still want a reaper pet
>>342641778
>making baby noises
oh well.. into the soup with it

Fuck the depths. Zap eels are the niggers of the sea. I went through 3 batteries welding my Seamoth because of them.
>>342641847
I saw in the trello thing they have plans for an emperor egg
>>342641778
>>342641816

>>342641847
this, reaper eggs when?
>>342641959
im hyped
i gotta collect them all and start a dueling ring with them
>>342641847
No Reaper eggs at the moment, but you can find Sea Dragon eggs and have a baby Sea Dragon. It can be used as a thermal power source and cooks any fish you put into the tank with it.
>>342638954
I first saw those things when I looked up to the surface after diving deep down and it scared the ever loving fuck out of me
>>342642083
woah baby sea dragons can make thermal sources? nice i did not know that.
>Monsters aren't scary enough
>>342642208
>they fucking laugh at you

>>342641975
When they get around to it. You can already grow reefbacks.
Also, you can pick up the animals you grow in you Alien Aquariums. Reefbacks can be picked up and put in your Bioreactor and provide 1k energy, which is roughly 3 days worth of solar power from 13 Solar Panels.
>>342642208
i hate these fuckers.. getting swarmed by them was terrible, they got much less aggressive in the last patches
>>342638589

You'd have to dismantle the whole fucking Aurora for enough titanium.
>>342642368
>there's only one lewd image for subnautica
>>342642558
Considering your character is an Asian, I'm assuming his dick would be small enough to get into one of them without getting bitten.
>>342615660

> statistically speaking
Numale brain, not even once.
>>342642779
>Considering your character is an Asian
It is?

>not dismantling the whole fucking Aurora for enough titanium to enslave the sea to do your bidding
>>342642697
>>342642779
It doesn't have any chewing or biting parts, only some pokey fangs and a mouth hole. So it can work your penis into its body cavity and then release it without much harm except form the pokey fangs.
>>342642643
>not being able to ride them
MISSING
OUT
>>342643005
gotta break them first.
>>342642837
Yes. And he's a dude.
You can see pictures of your coworkers on some of the debris around the Aurora. They're mostly all Asian, too. One's a qt girl that got captured by the Precursors. Probably raped by their tentacle limbs before being experimented on.
You, the captain, and one pilot are the only men on the ship, with around 130 crew members.
>>342642558
>A few days later it finds your seabase

i was not aware there was another option
>>342643216
Soemone needs to draw this series of events.
>>342643383
There isn't
I got this game to try and face my phobia. I can't do it. I can barely swim away from the pod, can't swim at all at night. It's fucked
>>342643268
Airsacks are cute! Cute!
I think the game was better before the H2O update
Everytime I come back to see what's new, it's always less playable
The seamoth is now super annoying to drive
Even more fucking blue print to farm
It's a shame
>>342639667
IT HAS TOOLS
I don't know how I feel about this.
>>342643274
Maybe he's just too scared to get a boner during the entire thing? Dude's an Asian, he's probably beta as fuck.
Though considering that he knives sharks to death, he deserves 300 lbs of pussy and ass after he gets rescued.

>He keeps Shamu in a tiny fucking rectangle where it can barely move
Fucking art
>>342643765
Nigga, they can already build machines, and they're likely the ones who shot down your ship in the beginning of the game.
Not to mention they tamed the Sea Emperors, genetically engineered the Espers, and built castles out of fucking lava.
>>342642558
>tfw will never get to live life as a sex crab squid
>>342643658
Resources are gonna run out anon, you're gonna have to brace that ocean soon enough.
>>342643268
Where's that?
I'm talking about the one where the reaper is almost choking the player out with its dick
>>342642558
>>342643216
Keep going
>>342643665
I would have thought they'd give it inflat-o-tits.
>>342644097
The Airsack one is on Paheal, where's the Reaper one?
how do i get a seaglider? i already have the necessary materials but i dont see it under deployables or anywhere else
>>342643736
I miss the old seamoth driving. When you could get lost in a cave maze and have no idea which way was up or down.
>>342636283
Is that actually in the game?
>>342643658
Just do it, man. Just do it. Stay in the shallow waters to begin with. Go ever to the kelp area and say hi to the fish there. They're friendly, especially the long ones.
Is this game worth $10?
>>342639667
Should it be concerning that they're physically very similar to the Reaper?
>>342644305
You gonna scan blueprints for it now, I think it's around the kelp forest
>>342644346
They're working on it. There are several in-progress biomes.
>>342644305
scan the fragments to unlock the blueprint
>>342633939
WHere the fuck is a reefback that huge?
>>342644253e621
>>342642809
using statistics is pretty much the farthest thing from numale kid. been accepted worldwide for a few thousand years now
>>342644346
They already have it modelled and everything, they're just waiting to put it in after they fix the performance, because the biomes are massive and they don't want to crash peoples computers.
>>342644487
There's a bug causing two gigantics reefbacks to spawn and spin around.
>>342644402
Yes. Not to mention they aren't dead giveaways that make a shitton of noise before they get you.
They're the ones who killed (or captured) most of the other humans on the planet, and they shot down 2 spaceships.
>>342633117
He still seems 2small4me after the reaper
>>342644775
He's not found out in the open, though. You find them in the inactive and active lava zone caves. They don't have to be as big as Reapers
>>342644384
Yes, very much so. I paid $20 for it and I already got 3x the amount of hours as dollars I paid.
Is this game spooky? How much is missing from the game?
>>342644993
I wish the Cyclop could drive itself, like beacon to beacon
>>342644993
They are planned to spawn in the void outside the map, but as for biomes yes you are correct.
>>342645117
>all that salt, no quartz
seems legit
>>342644527
Not bad, all things considered.
>>342645290
It's the area that spawns in front of the Aurora, between the Safe Shallows and Reaper Home. Right now it's a big fucking ugly mess there, but I can't wait for it to be implemented.
>>342644769
>shot down
Holy shit! How??
>>342645429
green space lasers
>>342645429
they catapulted crash fish into a low orbit
>>342645254
Aren't Sea Emperors supposed to be the ones in the void?
>>342645429
No idea so far. Precursor bases are being added in the next update. But we do know from abandoned PDAs that the Degassi was very likely shot down by them, because we know it was shot down, and we don't know if the other planet in the binary system has any life on it. The Aurora was also hit by them, which is why it went down, according to the Captain's voice logs.
>>342612785
But doesn't it have torpedoes?
>>342645673
Yes, and he threw a bitch fit when the rest of the team overruled him and added them in.
>>342645770
what a fucking knob.
shame the games pretty fun

>>342644993
>They don't have to be as big as Reapers
But that's not nearly as intimidating.
I want my bigger fish, god damnit.
>>342646214
You'll get yours soon.
>>342645621
So I guess we are gonna need weapons to fight them? It dosn't seem like anybody had a means of fighting them before they got captured.
>they get captured and put into lava dungeons
