960 4gb. Surprisingly well, it runs alot of games at neat ultra settings while needing just a few things turned down to Medium depending on the game.
I'll be upgrading when the next generation of cards comes out, I don't see a reason to go for the 1000 line when this is doing well as it is.

At first I thought the card got too hot during some games, but it turns out it was just the heat from this weather. Probably wasn't a good idea to install it and test temps on a 90 degree day.

it has a pretty steep curve to hit 60fps 4k on witcher 3 max settings. The difference required is astronomical to get that extra 15 fps. There have been reports of 2 titan x's running sli cannot hit constant 60. Though I do think dual 1080s would. I'm just not willing to fork over that much money for literally a 15fps difference when all other modern games like DSIII run around 50+fps 4k max settings.

Just tried with the newest drivers. Works slightly better, but both CPU and GPU are shitting themselves on the lowest possible settings, aside from resolution and rendering scale. Mostly GPU though.

I can't complain too much, it gets hot as fuck though. There was also an issue with the paste that was causing thermal throttling until I replaced it.
1080p performance is spot on, 2560x1440 not so much with the like of Metro and TW3 unless toning down the graphics a bit (on the plus side, AA is pretty much superfluous at 2k).
Thinking about jumping on a 480 or waiting for the Polaris cards to come out and grabbing another 280x to crossfire when the price drops.

I set everything except render resolution to it's lowest and I can only get 60fps on the first few levels. After that it's 60 in smaller areas and down to 30 in larger ones with lots of enemies.

I had a GTX590 since 2011. There was a recent Windows update or something that causes my computer to no longer recognize or use the card? I dunno, it sees the card in the device manager but has a Code 43 error and nothing I do seems to fix the problem (including uninstalling card, installing new drivers, removing old drivers, waiting for another Windows update to fix the problem).
I've had many MANY problems with the card itself. I'm finally ordering a new card, a GTX960, which seems like a good price and I can probably see a boost in performance. I could play most games with medium/high settings previously, this one looks like it can do the same without overheating and killing the card (which happened whenever I played GTA5).
Good thing I know next to nothing about cards, because there better not be a permanent problem with my computer that it won't like the new card! Oh boy!

I have a 970. If you're gaming at 1080p resolution, I don't believe there's a reason to upgrade to this new generation unless you're gaming at 4k or doing VR. I'm getting a solid 60 to 90 frames per second on all graphics intensive games, and on less intensive games I'm getting 120, which maxes my monitor's refresh. I don't see any games that push the limits graphically in the works either.
If there's a new card that gives a 50% performance boost for ~$250 I'd probably buy it, but that's probably not going to happen with the upcoming 1070, I'll have to wait until the 1170.

Pretty damn great so far, 1440p at 144Hz in the majority of games has been excellent all around. Only downside is newer games are hit and miss on my UHD TV when it comes to framerate maxed out.
Just went from an R9 270 to GTX 970. Took a FX 8320 into an i5 6500 upgrade too, and crappy DDR3 ram into 8GB of DDR4. 80 FPS in most games on ultra with shadows in low-end (shadows annoy me) 60-70 shadows on. Gotta say I love Nvidia and Intel now. Used to be AMD ..but damn I live this skylake performance.

Honestly, most games nowadays tend to go more on the GPU side then CPU, and the 2300 can still play a lot of stuff at 1080p just fine.
It probably won't be a consistent 60, and will probably drop to 40-50 FPS in some of the towns, but Fallout 4 has some weird issues anyway even on the strongest hardware.

5770 and I can't update my drivers without severe picture quality loss. A combination of issues with HDMI and not being able to disable some innate settings on my TV because it's shit. Just got the 380 a couple months ago and am very satisfied so far. Although them announcing the 480 shortly after I got it makes me sad knowing I could have gotten a much better GPU for the same price. /v/ warned me not to buy a new GPU but I badly wanted to play dark souls 3 and my 550 ti couldn't run it.

The GTX480 was fast but the level complexity has increased a lot since then. The GTX560Ti isn't even capable of playing some of the newer titles at medium 1080P
My HD6970 began to struggle once the effect complexity increased in recent titles. I can still play a shocking amount of games with good image quality but there are now games where the frame rate drops are just too high without butchering the quality
Got a gtx 770 pretty good but going to be getting the rx 480 since no matter what it will be an upgrade so I can play DOOM and TW:Warhammer on higher settings

AMD is excellent for the money just don't buy new releases expecting perfection on day 1. My HD6970 let me max out my entire backlog. Loved that GPU. I felt AMD gave me my money's worth at $280 at launch

290X. It's fine. I get ~100-120FPS in DOOM 2016 on Ultra. I basically can run anything on Ultra or High and 60FPS.
Witcher 3 was a bitch, I had to disable Hairworks and lower foliage density to High, and even then I had drops to 55FPS.
