GW2 pretty much combines almost all of the worst aspects of hotbar mmos and ARPGS into one horrendously terrible abortion. I have never been more bored in an mmo than doing RvRvR and instances in GW2.
The combat is just so, so bad.
MMOs are being dumbed down to cater a wider audience.
They used to appeal to players who enjoy a game that demands efficiency and optimization to be successful; and then have that game require to player to figure out the most efficient and most optimal way to play.
Casual players don't do any of that shit. So they play the free trial, or the pay for a month and suck shit. So they quit, unsubscribe or never subscribe, and the game misses out on money.
Just look at WoW after both TBC and WotLK xpacs. Now look at WoW today. Its subscriptions are massive, and its content is piss easy, and playing any class doesn't require more than 8 or 9 keybinds.
The MMO genre is dead, and casual fags killed. Imagine how a game like Dark Souls would look if casual fag feedback dictated changes made to that game. It'd be little more challenging than some flash game.

it was hard, but if you managed to do it without failure even 80% of the time the repeatable rewards gave the highest gold/time compared to all other activities at that time
Some people were farming it for the whole month 8 hours per day (or botted the fuck out of it)
While others were crying on the forums that they cant do it because they were playing on a potato with a trackpad or were potatoes themselves. The shitstorm was delicious
