I've never heard that myself and wonder where you got that from and ESPECIALLY which game you're talking about because of the games that people actually play Iori is typically top tier and Mai and King don't really stand a chance because they are nowhere near that strong, however I could probably speculate WHY someone would think that. Iori is typically a hit and run character that is typically played in a fashion where he gets up in your face and pushes your shit in then backs off and harrasses you with his godly normals and fireball and repeats the process over and over again slowly chipping away at your health until you die and those are two of the strongest zoning characters in KoF and they kinda fuck with that whole get in your face thing and then also he has a harder time harassing from longer ranges compared to most characters since that's where they normally want to be.
That being said in those matchups Iori just goes full on rush down and like I said before in the games that people actually play they don't stand a fucking chance because Iori will shred them.
