The world is still going to be a series of big empty interconnected rooms that are a chore to traverse, the combat still isn't going to be as fluid and satisfying as Vesperia's, most of the costumes are gonna be DLC again and so on and so forth. Tales Studio do not learn from mistakes; they take whatever was wrong with the last game and either ignore it completely or make it worse. When they do right, they change everything.

39 of those belong to the gamecube version since 2004, Multiple 100% runs, at least 10 mania runs, most normal just because I enjoy it so much and its my go-to game when I'm bored. I've played it more then anything else, Phantasia being closest at 21 plays between 4 versions.

Usually Lloyd just because, not only is he my favorite, but its my favorite fighting style. I've played a run maining every character before though, Presea and raine are my other defaults.

Symphonia was my go-to game and still is, I've played it so many times that I find every siongle tedious part enjoyable.

The ToS characters all come and leave as they please and don't stay permenantly until the end of the game. They also don't level up, they just join you at a level and stay that level until the story levels them up, which on harder modes and endgame makes them far less useful. You can only set the two new characters as your player character (You can still play as the old characters by switching during battle, but doing it everytime is a pain). You can capture monsters to have as party members and level them up, which is better than using the old characters, but you can't control them. There's no world map.

Why did they fuck up the in game designs so badly? Vesperia was great and they could have even gone further to a GGXrd level, everything after like Xillia and Zestiria go for this strange "realistic anime" where the only anime looking thing is the single color they use for the character skin, the characters themselves look like an attempt at using a shitty character creator to try and resemble the anime art.

Symphonia is the middleground, it is the best place to start in this day and age, because you'll only go up from there.
Symphonia is a mix, it will determine whether or not you enjoy the linear system, or radial system more. Its inoffensive, fun, and a great way to start the series. Once you've beat it, ot at least given it a try, go on to other games like abyss, graces, and xillia.
