this is actually pretty good for a modern game, but what the fuck happened to level design? it was one of the best things about doom 1&2, but it's beyond trash in this one

I have to disagree with you there
It was just to into this room, door locks behind you, kill all monsters, on to the next area
don't get me wrong, this makes for great combat. but it gets kinda stale
