The Long Dark is probably the only survival game that I would recommend. Dragon's Dogma is a good pick along with Ori and the Blind Forest and Stardew Valley.
Whatever you do don't buy FO4. Ignore all the hype and definitely ignore the feeling like you have to play it because it's a big Bethesda release. The game is a shitpile even when its at its best.
Rocket League is good if you have friends to play with. Otherwise don't bother.

The things that it did do better, have long since been surpassed and you rip on KF 2 for being a slightly different game that does things different. The Zerker movement wasn't removed, just changed to be a skill and I agree. I fucking HATED how everyone in KF 1 on HoE difficulty would just pick Zerker and kite the mobs, ignoring team work and welding.
The teleporting zeds needs to be fixed, they have tried 3 times already and still can't get it right. I don't think it's a deal breaker though.
