3DS version has the additional adventure maps and the My Fairy system (which is really just powerful nukes with even more overpowered side effects), whereas the WiiU version has 2-player, Challenge Mode, and Ganon's Fury.
So neither is truly "complete" but the 3DS version has slightly more in my opinion.

The Wii U version came out roughly a year and a half before the 3DS version, and it finished its DLC cycle by March 2015. It's not like they released at the same time and just stopped supporting one version.
I imagine the official reason has to do with gameplay changes like having multiple playable characters at once and warp points not being possible or cost efficient for the Wii U version, and Dragon Roost Island and Earth/Wind Temples are REALLY built around both of those features.
Either way, I'm pretty sure both HW and HWL have sold well enough to justify HW2 for the NX, and that will be the definitive game because it'll have Groose.

The manga based on Link's awakeining is probably the best Zelda Manga ever. It takes some liberty but follow the game rather well.
It actually address Link facing the dilemma of having to wake up the Wind Fish or letting him sleep to let everyone keep being.
He even propose a truce to the monsters saying he won't try to wake up the Windfish anymore if they live the habitants in peace. The monster are like FUCK THIS SHIT WE WILL TAKE OVER AND RUIN EVERYTHING.
So, in the end, Link decides to wake up the WindFish before the monster turn everything in a complete nightmare.
One of the reason I like this manga is because Link is FUkcing OP from start to finish.

While OC1, aka Nakura, might not be in the game, I think he is the equivalent of that Skeleton warrior you have to fight several time (with swords and bombs) in the game. Skeleton guy himself is not in the Manga, so I think he is Nakura. They are rather close anyway, character wise.
