Having just finished it like the OP I just wanted some clarification on the plot, especially since it was like 60 hours of talking spread out over sporadic playing for a few months.
The whole point of it all was to make your realize that both the reformists and nobles are shitheads with misguided ideals, right? Like the reformists are too utilitarian and brutal with their progress and the nobles are puffed up cocksuckers concerned first and foremost with maintaining the class discrepancy, and so the only through and through good guys are your close posse from Thors who were guided in a very deliberate way so they could see the whole "truth is in the middle" view of the prince and basically become new age Bracers.
But also there's the whole thing with Ouroboros and fuckin witches and whatever else is happening behind the scenes/the big picture antagonists.
In short you're supposed to walk away from this all not liking anyone but the general Thors crew and Class VII?

Thinking about it, I think the game really blew up the conflict between party members too fast, it was almost like it was scared of allowing making the players dislike a character because they were fighting another partymember.
Like take Laura, if she had shown her problems with Fie more early on, they could have taken the time to build up on that, and if her problems with Rean had been focused a bit longer we could have been built up into an arc that gave both Laura and Rean some good development or something. The same with Emma who never gets called on keeping really important secrets and Fie was just too trustful and should have been way more standoffish from the start to give her flavor.
I wonder if the rest of the series would feature mecha elements. It'd be pretty cool to see the old cast from Sora piloting mechs as well, even if it's just a custom Soldat instead of a Divine Knight,
