It is, especially this mother fucker right here and the part they gave him in the middle of the trial that didn't happen in the game.
The original stuff is great, and the next episode is a flashback episode that goes into their childhood friendship before and after Mile's father was killed.

One problem I had was how Maya was actually useful in the anime but she still felt like she was useless even though she actually channeled her sister and snuck into Von Karma's office to steal the bullet
