The trick with roadhog is to hold M1 down once you hook someone. It will auto fire as soon as you come out of animation and you can aim the camera upwards while pulling them in. Once you get good you'll get a feel for where the headshot sweet spot is. From there, instantly going into a melee after you shoot will instantly kill 99% of enemies. If you whiff it or the game fucks you and they somehow survive? Your alt fire finishes them up
You need to use your hook like a sniper though, don't just throw out hooks but train on your target and lead the shot a little to compensate for 20 tick
The hands down MOST important thing to know about Roadhog is that you are a tank. it is your job to sit your ass down on an objective. If you aren't on the Objective, you aren't doing your job. More often than not, the payload will give you ample cover while the tryhards on your team can run ahead and punish stragglers.

More over, Roadhog rulls people to him instead of going to his enemy so you can just dip into a building and hide away until it passes then heal up any pot shots that got you. Once you know Zenyatta is on the field, just gib him when he sticks his head out. Done.

The character I like the most is D.Va, but in-game you're almost always better off choosing Winston. She does well against Winston in a 1v1, but Reaper does better. I now only pick her when we're going against a turret nest, just to ult away all the turrets, force Bastion to move, and allow my team to push.

roadhog is the only tank that has no real defensive ability, i.e. rein will shield, d.va can fly away or defense matrix, zarya can shield it off and winston can jump or shield
since zenyatta will die to anyone if he sticks his head out and not just a roadhog, and considering his insane range on everything you can easily stay out of danger zones. The only real skill check for a zen player is positioning, and keeping a roadhog locked down to peek and hooks just by tossing a 40 yard orb whenever you see him is a pretty easy task

Hanzo's relatively high mobility, scattershot, and Ult make him a good flanker/skirmisher. Zenyatta can hang in the back near Widowmaker, doing cleanup for imperfect kills.
Hanzo needs to be running down side-corridors, firing Scatter Arrows at enemies getting attacked and taking out Symmetra and Torbjorn turrets.

i think hanzo is a great mid range sniper and is not suiteed at all to close range combat because of the low output of quick damage.
as a sniper i'd say he's a midrange one with the ability to do long range and take out widow.

Soldier 76 is a good one to default to.

I main roadhog for my tanks usually and I wreck shit on the front line, and I DO chug my potion midfight, it's usually the only thing that keeps me from dying just long enough to finish off who's harassing me. I yank big threats and blast them in the fucking face, and big threats are usually up front halting my team like fucking Bastions or Junkrats. The only time I'm behind my team is to yank and oneshot Tracers.

My overall main is D.Va. She definitely is one of the lowest 5 characters in the game, but she does good work if she's not the only Tank.
Offense: Pharah? I have 3 hours on her out of my 70 hours played.
Defense: Torb/Bastion. Trying to get better with Mei.
Tank: D.Va has been my go-to girl, but I usually play as Rein in Ranked.
Support: Lucio. I'm garbage with Mercy and Zen, but I really want to learn Symmetra.
Also, fuck anyone who runs Offense mains that isn't maining a 76. The Offense characters all seem so balanced to just be counterpicks that I just can't see any point in having a starting comp that has more than 2. Genji and McCree are both excellent counter characters, but that Genji probably isn't doing his best if there's no Bastions or Torbs on the Defense, and McCree isn't the best pick unless Tracer or some such is running around.
I'm just getting real tired of 1 Tank/1 Support/4 Offense comps. Fuck you guys, Rein should almost always be a pick and having an Off-Tank is amazing. Zenyatta is an excellent pick and will do best as a second to either Mercy or Lucio and he's going to make the 2 Offense picks better than if he was a 3rd Offense himself.

Symmetra is underrated as fuck. If you can properly utilize her turret placement and you have a competent team, with a competent Reinhardt player, you can absolutely rape face while keeping your team in a good state of health.
Just played a match earlier, got PoTG with her. I was practically unstoppable. But that's also because we had a great Mercy player on our team, and a result, she made sure that everyone stayed at near max health. Add in my turrets and Warp Ray Wave Motion Cannon, and we won. The other team only managed to advance once I got rekt after my first 12 player kill streak.
Not using a Symmetra on a defense run is like the epitome of autism.
