Just finished B&W last night. I know that fucking empty feel. The main game was harsh enough getting dropped into KM at the end with nothing to do. Its even worse feeling with my waifu Triss there, but there is nothing to do.
W3 isn't the best game ever, though one of the prettiest. It isn't really the -est of anything. Best looking, story, combat, gameplay. But put all together, you get something special.

About 190 hours. Although probably 15 of those were spent messing around with graphical settings, getting mods to work as well as loading screens since I get obsessed about playing encounters "right", and often reload if I did something stupid.

Yennefer was a pushy bitch and it felt like she was just using Geralt, don't know why she would be the default romance. Triss was far, far too absorbed by sorceress pretend-politics and didn't seem like a good partner either.
In a way I wish I could have chosen neither, or that there had been a non-sorceress option. It's not like Geralt didn't meet plenty of good women. I ended up only choosing Yennefer because I didn't want an ending where Geralt was alone.

Not really any reason not to get them from the get-go. HoS expands part of the main map, so you might find yourself exploring there naturally, although it is a higher level area.
But really, just play it as you meet the level requirements and you'll be fine. HoS is probably best played shortly before the ending of the game, and BaW is clearly supposed to be played after beating the main quest.

W1's biggest issue is that you cant queue actions, so if you unsheath your sword you have to wait for the full animation to end before you can start attacking/casting which can be quite clunky but once you understand that the combat system isn't even that bad. Also there might be mods like FCR that add a queue system but I never tried them
W2's biggest issue is that its heavy on rolls and tries to immitate dark souls combat wise, but again, its perfectly fucking fine.
Might as well skip witcher 3 as well since a lot of memesters hate on it, and witcher hate was heavy since the first game yet it still secured a cult following because its a solid RPG experience.

TW1 has the best RPG and Alchemy mechanics. It's an ugly game but it's very well written and has a fairly traditional high-ish fantasy plot with some nice twists and turns. TW1 has much more strategy than the other games but the core combat is not as good.
TW2 has the best plot of any game, period. It is a really sharp conspiracy story, circles within circles, where every little group and cabal has their own agenda but is probably being used by someone else. The combat is clunky, but there are some fantastic fights.
TW3 has the best combat and is just fucking gorgeous. It doesn't have the tight-as-fuck plot of TW2 but it makes up for this with sheer breadth and great characters. TW3 introduces lots of characters from the books which weren't in TW1 and TW2 at all.
I live in hope that one day they will merge all the games into one on an improved TW3 engine, and tidy up the TW1 and TW3 plots a bit.

Tbh I didn't remember the two knights you meet in the beginning. The only Knight of toussaint that I recall from the books is a man named Reynart but he died before the games. Pretty sure that other two had brief appearances in them but I just can't remember.
The Witcher 3 for better or worse doesn't really hold your hand when it comes to throwing characters at you.

Geralt ends up op as fuck no matter what you do. the only thing the devs could even think of to try and stop it is the surge of 'enemy hit staggers you but it's not a stagger' and 'detlaff has an instant kill' and those only really impede shitters.

Depends, did you actually expect bethesda to do a decent fallout rpg after Fallout 3? Then if so, yes, yes ,yes and then some more yes.
Did you just want an open world shooter with lots of content, albeit pretty repetitive? Then yes, its surprising just how much they managed to improve the gunplay going from what felt like an oblivion mod. And the power armor feels like power armor too, not just a suit of weightless plate. Of course mods could stand to improve the power armor system and rough way weapons are handled but that's just natural.
Also the open world is pretty good when compared to their previous work too, I'd say almost morrowind tier. Boston is FUCKING GREAT even though performance heavy and there's a broken highway built all over the wasteland that integrates into boston beautifully.
Only true downside aside from fallout 3 is that there's not much evi/good choice in quests, people give the dialogue a lot of shit and while I agree its shittier fallout 3 dialogue was horrible as well.
Oh and they integrated skill points and perks together in a chart, I actually like it but the people that thought they'd make it an RPG are butthurt about it.

the f4 dialogue is bad because you are forever tied to the voice acting and the voice acting is written around the stupid find the kid plot. it's like tryign to play an OLD man in f3, yeah with mods you 'can' but the lore and the plot pretty heavily 'assume' you are 19.
the perk chart was just hot fuckign garbage and proof that lockign yourself to a presentation motif can hamper creativity. so many bad perks, so many bad perk positions (wtf it takes less CHA to be a misanthrope than to get laid?) rigidly forcing 10 perks for each SPECIAL< with zero room to insert new perks, and adding level requirement sto all perks ensuring that no matter what you started with, your characters all grow int he same mediocre ways.
