Going beyond that doesn't make a game look better at all. It's only resolutions below 900p that make a noticeable difference. It's like playing MH3 on the Wii at sub-720 then emulating it at 1080. Or gravity rush on the Vita and PS4. Or DarkSouls1 on PC at 720p then modded at 1080p. THAT is a world of difference. Going above 1080p has CLEAR diminishing returns. It does look crisper, yes, but really doesn't affect IQ in any meaningful way.
