Not only is Kai better paced, but it removes stuff not in the manga, thus making it more faithful.
Now, people might say that it's bad that they remove funny stuff like when Goku and Piccolo learn how to drive a car, which is a short filler episode one can watch online anwyay, but it also does way better things like removing the entire Garlic Jr. filler arc, which has no place in the series whatsoever.
Both versions (specifically the dub) also removes lots of censoring stuff, making it more enjoyable and, again, more faithful to the manga, which is the most important part.
It also removes the unavoidable shitty pacing a filler-riddled series suffers from.
Kai is always the better option, because it adheres to the manga a thousand times better, and as someone who read the manga sixteen years ago, Kai is absolutely the best way to experience the cartoon if you want to.
