I think that will happen regardless, even in the fixed timeline.
To keep the timeline stable there has to be a young sigma skipping to the future so that old sigma can go back and save the world, even if the fuure incident is fake in those already fixed timelines.

They removed the difficulty settings from what they told me, likely in favor of having a balance between chit chat from the group and having the player actually have to figure this stuff out. From what I know from public sources and what I saw at San Fran, some events will have harsh decisions with set-in-stone results, some will have RNG chances that force you to choose between taking one bad result or risking a little more to try and get a better one, and there's speculation that some might even have special requirements that allow you to avoid bad results as long as you think it through. If you look at some of the trailers, they show what looks like other Decisions too, like one that looked sorta similar to the AB games.
tldr; It seems like they're trying to make most of the Decisions unique, rather than having the same format for each one.

Well, it's a security issue too. If someone on their mailing list was leaking their games, it would be an issue to trust that list when it comes to future projects. Plus, the first leak featured a character death, not exactly the best way to start off, ha. I appreciate that the recent leaks have generally been pretty minimal screens from Quests, but Aksys has put a lot of effort into keeping the story on ZTD locked down tight, so it's scary and kinda rude to break their trust. I think that recent one with the dolls was a kinda cute way to establish that there's humor in the game, so it might've helped a little, but having something like a character death (no matter how expected it might have been) floating around is pretty bad.
