It's an excellent speedrunning game. If you judge it as a platformer, it's pretty mediocre due to short levels, lame bosses, and a mixed bag of bonus levels to pad out the length, but replaying the stage to find all the shortcuts and nail your executions to shave off another second from your final time is really thrilling if you're into that sort of thing.
