It's only a dissapointment i've you are expecting something impossible. I'll buy it because it looks like a nice space game with a focus on exploration, unlike Star Citizen and Elite, but i'm realistic that it will get repetitive after a while. Still, it looks nice, if I had a lot of hours of fun with Noctis, I'm sure this will do.
Of course, stupid people are expecting some kind of infinite space MMO with cities, races and the like are going to hate it.

Unlike PM he begrudgingly points out that the game doesn't contain a bunch of things you'd expect from open-world games, so he at least admits that much. PM is just 100% full of shit all the time.

There was no footage of that, all of the journos there were given the same selection of B-roll footage to accompany their write-ups.
The demo wasn't unrestricted, they had a very short amount of time and no way to access far range planets, all of them saw pretty much the same snowy planet, the same aliens, the same building.
No one got to explore the game.
